My son's truck threw a "P" code. Torque converter solenoid. Tom and the guys did their diagnostic. It was more than the solenoid. He sent me pictures of their findings. Tom called me and explained everything. My son's gas tank strap broke on the way to the shop. Tom was nice enough to replace them with the ones I purchased. There were other issues. With an unexpected investment into the truck, he wanted to make sure my investment was protective. Issues resolved, truck back on the road. Myself and my son are so appreciative of the professionalism, honesty and reasonable pricing. I highly recommend TAB for your transmission needs.

If you go anywhere else, you're doing it wrong. These guys are the most patient, professional, and courteous mechanics I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Save yourself some time, and don't bother looking for anyone else to get your vehicle squared away. Their shop is absolutely clean, well maintained and well cared for, and that translates into everything else they do. Thanks so much for your help guys! If I run into any issues with my car again, I won't go anywhere else.

The staff was friendly and the place is kept clean. No matter where you go, automotive work can expensive but, just looking at how well kept the shop is, I knew this place would be worth every dollar. It was less expensive than my dealership with double the care on my car. Tom and his team really took care of everything and Tom even made sure to walk me through the issues I had with my vehicle and didn't try to overbear me with more issues. He was honest about what was going on and even tried to help me save money by working through my transmission one step at a time. If I have to take my car to a shop, it's going to be this one! As we all know, finding good honest mechanics in this area is quite difficult. However, tucked away in a cozy corner of an industrial park is this amazing shop. From the entrance to the garage, everything is clean and inviting. Each person I came in contact with made us feel like a long time friend, not just another customer. They explained every detail of the repairs needed (from pros and cons, alternative options, cost vs benefits, additional recommendations, etc). Instead of milking me for every penny like other shops, these guys spoke the truth and seemed to care more about the people than the money. To me, that means everything. That's how you keep your customers. For this shop I give a very very rare 5* rating. Excellent, definitely recommend.

Tom is a very considerate, trusting, professional guy who helped me out a lot. I will 100% be coming back and recommending this place to others :). Came here for a wheel bearing replacement on my VW Jetta. It was done within just a day after dropping it off!

I had the pleasure of finding TAB when they first opened. This family-owned business is truly a gem. The cleanliness, attention to detail, expertise and customer service is second to none in the auto industry. Tom and Bill go out of their way to make sure I am satisfied with the outcome of my repairs. If were to sum up the business in one word I would say honesty is the driving force behind their business model. I can't thank Tommy and his staff enough for all the work they did rebuilding my sons 85 Corvette engine. TAB was the only place we found willing to take on this enormous challenge. You can tell right away Tommy really cares about his customers and has pride in the work he does. He is honest and stands behind his work 100%. I highly recommend his shop and plan on having my vehicles serviced there in the future. Thanks again to Tommy and his crew.

Recently had a check engine light come on in my Hyundai while away on vacation. Once I got back I made an appointment to drop it off. Tom and his team got it in and diagnosed in no time. They got all the issues fixed up and now the car runs absolutely great. Definitely will bring my vehicles to TAB Transmissions and Auto Repair in the future. Really great shop with great people. I never let anyone work on my vehicle s because I m stubborn, but with all the time an money I put into fixing my truck to keep having the same thing foul out. I brought it into Tab and the first words out of Bills mouth was about how the modules work like a bus route picking up bits of info to feed the pcm. I immediately knew these were the guys I need on my girl. My truck is my world outside of my kids and these guys figured it out fast and without breaking the bank. So if you have any problem small or large you will definitely want to bring your vehicle to these guys. Thanks again for fixing my Reba I seriously can t thank you enough.Service: Electrical repair

Can't say enough about Tom at TAB... He has been servicing not only my cars for years but also my kids cars and friends. Excellent work, and he stands behind it! He is as trustworthy as they come. If something didn't need to be repaired he was always up front about it and in the same if he recommended service on something it wasn't to make a buck... I've only heard good things about TAB and went to Tom to discuss changing out the rear gears in my car and adding posi traction. Tom was very knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up getting the work done with them and Tom kept me in the loop of everything. There were no surprises and the mechanic, Bill did an excellent job. I wouldn't hesitate to have any work done here.Friendly, professional, and clean shop just all around awesome.Thanks guys!

Great experience! Tom did a full driveline fluid change and front end rebuild in minimal amount time. Had a couple money saving tips and absolutely delivered a quality repair job.

My 2006 Ford Ranger was comatose, manual transmission failed! Tom and crew at TAB placed it in intensive care, and with the skill of Harvard surgeons, delicately rebuilt the gearbox, raising the high-mileage road veteran from the dead! I was updated regularly as they diligently worked to locate hard to find parts and when they completed their miracle I found a cool TAB t-shirt and coozy in the cab when I picked the old thing up. Great work team, GREAT job, worth every penny of the VERY affordable price! Thank you so much!!Service: Transmission

My Ocean Gate mechanic initially diagnosed a transmission problem with my Jeep which they do not work on. I was referred to TAB Transmissions - "they are the best" I was told. Tom the TAB owner, was very friendly and even willing to drive me back to OG himself if an Uber was going to be too expensive. TAB diagnosed a different - non-transmission problem and fixed it for a fraction of what this problem was initially estimated to cost. My experience is this is a very honest and highly capable full-service auto repair business.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Not only did they do a timely transmission rebuild on my 2010 Tacoma but they also checked out the break lines and other parts of the under carriage. Didn't ask them to do but they did anyway. Brought some things to my attention that I was unaware of. Very courteous and quick to respond to emails/phone calls. Someone was mopping the floor when I arrived to get my truck - their shop is the cleanest I've ever seen. Highly recommended.Service: Transmission repair

I can't say enough about Tom and his team for there outstanding delivery from customer service to ensuring our Truck was fixed! We used Tab transmissions twice so far and will 100% be returning for any car related repairs! Thank you Tom for throughly explaining from start too finish what needed to be done and why and not hitting us with any hidden fees! Everything was exactly what we expected! And just a side note.. I have never ever been to a mechanics shop where is was actually clean and smelled good!Services: Engine repair, Transmission repair

I recently brought my corvette into TAB and spoke to the owner Tom. I was having problems with the transmission. They took the Transmission apart found the problem and communicated with me. tom ordered all new needed parts completed the repair and I had the car back in the time he stated to me. Tom s shop is extremely clean and well kept. It s a family owned business and a place you can trust. I was very satisfied with the repair and I plan on utilizing TAB for future mechanical needs. I have a 2012 subaru impreza and the transmission went. I called around a few shops untill I checked google for some local shops and came across TAB Transmissions. I called and spoke to Tom who was very thorough with explaining everything. Tom made me feel comfortable from the start so I decided to bring my car into his shop. Toms shop fixed my car, its been over a month and so far works great! I cannot recommend this shop enough between the customer service, quality work and the fact its the nicest cleanest shop I personally have ever seen its a easy 5 stars.Services: Transmission repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair

This is by far the best shop I've ever dealt with. Nice, clean and professional. Tom did a great job replacing my clutch and flywheel and without a doubt actually cares about his customers cars. Kept me informed throughout the install, which was a very quick turn around. When i returned to pick my car up, Tom went as far and putting the car on the lift and showing the clean work preformed. i trust my car with these guys and I HIGHLY recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

I contacted this business after I took my car to another facility due to a check engine light. The place I took it to performed a diagnostic check and found it was due to a Transmission Temperature, harness issue. They recommended I contact TAB Transmission as they do not do work on transmissions. I called TAB, I had to leave a message but within 5 minutes, I received a call back from a professional and courteous guy named Tom. He informed me that GM has some sort of campaign/recall about this issue and said to reach out to them and see if it was covered. I called my Cadillac dealer and sure enough it was covered. I typically do not write reviews but felt this was extremely deserving! They could they have easily did the work and charged me for it, instead he gave me great advice and did not want to see me pay for something I did not need to.This is truly outstanding service and shows that they really care about people! I will absolutely recommend them in the future as well as not hesitate to use them should I have any further transmission issues not covered.Excellent service! I truly appreciate the advice and thanks for saving me about $700 dollars!

Tom and TAB Transmissions were referred to me by Justin and his dad Frank at Jersey Shore Auto Repair. The transmission on my Honda Odyssey was shot. Tom gave me options including ranges for the estimates up front and the final bill turned out to be exactly what he quoted. Runs like brand new! Tom explained the repairs and had me come back a couple of weeks later so he could check the seals. Very impressive shop and even more impressive service. It's apparent through their high quality of work that they genuinely care about the level of service they provide to their customers. While I hope I never have the transmission go in a vehicle again, I wouldn't take it anywhere but TAB Transmissions and would highly recommend them to family, friends, and anyone reading this review.

Amazing service and friendly! In from outta town, he fit me same day, Dec 28, for broken blower (no heat/defrost!). Stayed late to get it done. I had an issue with the part, he called me once I got home and helped arrange for the warranty work to be done in my town. Way above and beyond! Telling my whole NJ family about you guys.

These guys are great! I have been having some work done to my 95 Mustang (trans rebuild, oil pan replacement, & suspension work) All big jobs and they got them done quickly and very cleanly! My car is running and shifting like butter. I couldn't be happier with the service. Tom and his staff are the best in the business. Our EMS Agency has had several mechanics over the years. Never has one walked us around the vehicles after being serviced to show us what we would expect to have to work on in the future. This allows us to budget properly for future work. My 2012 Dodge Durango was leaking oil and transmission fluid, needed brakes, and a few other things. I dropped it off at TAB and when Tom called he requested I come into the shop so he can show me what they diagnosed as the issues. He gave me several options and got my vehicle repaired and back on the road all for a extremely fair price. He treats everyone like family and his staff works on all cars as if they were the owners.
