I would highly recommend Elmwood Certified Auto Service! Albert is knowledgeable and explained all repairs needed and safety concerns! The prompt repairs and maintenance work performed was thorough and now my son s car runs smoothly. There is nothing like a trustworthy mechanic that explains things to someone who has no understanding of cars! I thank you for your great prices, honesty and peace of mind!

In the years that I've been going there, Elmwood Certified Auto Service has provided first class, professional, honest service to me for my older vehicles. Al keeps them running. And Al, with his friendly staff, keeps at it until the problem is fixed, while limiting extra non-related work, other than providing recommendations that will prevent issues later on.

Having been a business owner for many years I have allways been leary of auto mechanics...we own businesses your THOUGH N LISTENING PROCES IS A LOT DIFFERENT...HAVE A GOOD UNDESTANDING OF CAR PROBLEMS ..SO MY FIRST TIME THERE I KNEW IF HONESTY WAS TO APPLIED HE WOULD DO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS RIGHT...N TO MY HAPPY SURPRISE AL DID THE HONEST ROUTE..IAM SAYING SURPRISE BECAUSE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE DO NOT TRUST MECHANICS...GREAT WORK..PRICE..PROFESIONAL SHOP...WILL BE MY PLACE GOING FORWARD...

Fist time at Elmwood Ceritified Auto service: Very satisfied with the service that Al and his Team provided.My car was brought in over night, Al took a look at it and was diagnosed quickly w/reasonable price, Returned same day, & kept me updated throughout the day!!! (UNLIKE DEALERSHIPS: waiting hours to recieve a call just to inform of issue,car yet not worked on, car ready next day)Elmwood Certified Auto Service: Great Customer Service, Very honest, knowledgeable, & gives breakdown of service along w/pricing. Came to this shop based on a number of testimonials I read online.My mother recently went to a meineke and, as they often do with women, they scared her with a bunch of pictures of axles and rust and things. They basically made it seem like the car was a ticking time bomb. I don't know anything about cars so I came here and showed Al the pictures.Very straightforwardly, he told me it doesn't look like anything wrong and if you don't feel like there's any issue you should just drive it home. I was really happy at his honesty and the fact that he wasn't trying to get one over on me but just to be safe I had him inspect it.He said nothings wrong at all and he was really disappointed at the practices of other places like the one my mom went to. He seemed genuinely upset that they gave mechanics a bad name.Anyway, long story short, go here if you want an honest diagnosis of what is or isn't wrong with your car.

Well, Elmwood Certified Auto Service has done it once again!!! I took my car in for engine problems expecting the worst. The next day I braced myself for the bad news of having a major problem with it and to my pleasant surprise it was a couple of coils which came to under $300 for a VW. I know if I'd had gone elsewhere something different would have been wrong and I would have probably shelled out 1k-1.5k. Elmwood is as honest as they come and Al is a joy to work with - very competent. Try them for your next repair need.Service: Engine repair

After having several bad experiences with other auto repair shops where they tried to rip me off and have me pay for unnecessary repairs, going to Al and his team has been a refreshing experience. Al explains everything perfectly and only suggests repairs that are absolutely necessary. The level of honesty and professionalism at this establishment is unmatched. I have been coming here for years. Dennis was the owner before, but now Al have taken over the place. They are always professional, courteous, and honest. They communicate to you about work before they do it and their prices are reasonable. More importantly, they provide quality work. It can be nerve wrecking searching for a mechanic in hopes you find someone who is honest. Thankfully, I have found that with this shop. I have been here twice now, and I have received nothing but professionalism and complete honesty, even if it was things I did not want to hear. I found my auto repair shop! I have always found it challenging to find an auto repair shop that I could trust would be honest with me, do a great job, and not try to upsell me every step of the way. Al and his crew at Elmwood Certified Auto were fantastic. They worked hard to get my car back on the road as timely as they could. When your car breaks down unexpectedly, you want to bring it to a place that s local, trustworthy, efficient, and professional. For my area, Elmwood Auto is that place. Elmwood Auto is conveniently located on route 4 East in Elmwood Park. Al and his professionals will diagnose your car as to what s really wrong with it and not sell you what you think is wrong with it, especially if it s an expensive repair.They have a convenient night time drop off service available in a video monitored location. They are clean and professional every step of the way. I recommend them to all my friends and family and you know how family can be if you don t get it right. I've been going there for 20 years. Just had my porsche serviced by Dennis and his crew Fantastic work My car has not run this smooth and handle so effortlessly since I bought it. He changed all my tires and balanced them and did a complete check up as my car is 10 yrs old. He is the most honest and respective and thorough mechanic i have encountered and I thank Diane who told me about him. I will be referring my friends to him as well if they need any auto care needs. And again Thank you for such wonderful service and willing to accommodate my work schedule

This is probably the only place I would trust with my car. I started coming here a little over a year ago when I got my car in 2016 by my dad s recommendation who s been going here for years, and I can honestly say that I ve always had a positive experience since then. Dennis and his team always do an amazing job in whatever service I need while maintaining the same level of quality and efficiency throughout. They ve always been accommodating to my schedule, especially if I had to stop in early in the morning before going to work or if I had a busy schedule. What I admire the most about this place is the transparency Dennis and his team have. Whenever I go to any other car service center or dealership for a certain service (check engine light, recall, general concern, etc.) they d always tell me that something s wrong with my car and then some more and that it needed to be fixed immediately via the most expensive service that they offer. Dennis always responds to my concerns honestly and thoroughly whenever completing and reviewing a service, even when I have specific questions or concerns. He is extremely straightforward and always gives me great recommendations in taking care of my car. I can definitely attest that he and his team are here for honest, quality service for your car and not to make as much money off of you each time you visit. If you need to go to a place for any sort of auto service, this is the first place I d recommend without a doubt.

I've been using Dennis and his team for several years now on 4 different cars (2 newer, 2 older). Tires, a transmission, brakes, an annoying noise, fixing an emission-related issue in order to pass inspection - literally have been through it all. I found them through a website and I'm so happy that I did.Their service is exceptional. Their integrity is unmatched in my 30+ years of driving. Knowledgeable. Helpful. Honest. And just really nice guys. Who could ask for more than that?

I have several cars ranging from an old Dodge to Hyundai to Porsche and Elmwood Certified Auto Service has handled repairs on all of these vehicles without issue, and have saved me significant cash over dealer repair shops. They are readily available, provide good upfront estimates, do the work quickly and accurately. Its difficult to find a repair shop that is trustworthy and good. I highly recommend Elmwood Auto service, you can see why they get such great reviews.

Their service is very courteous, friendly, and professional. The job was completed in a timely matter. It's good to now know that I have a great mechanic to go to when needed.

Al and his team are the best mechanics I have ever come across. After taking my wife s car to the Nissan dealer in Rockland twice, we left unsatisfied. Finally decided to take it to Elmwood Certified. These guys were efficient, honest and professional. We received a genuine service with a smile. Thank you guys for being awesome!
