My dad brought my car to get my tires installed and his appointment was at 11:30am. They didn t return the vehicle until 3pm. the tires being installed were my original tires with the original wheel studs. the mechanics returned the car to us stating that my wheel stud was broken by us which is not true. My dad brought all the original pieces and none of it was broken, they broke it. Instead of taking accountability, they told my dad that the stud was forced in by their tire drills but came broken which is ridiculous because it literally didn t. In top of everything my dad wanted to leave with the car as is and they told him it would be $140 to fix. My dad ended up leaving with the vehicle just to realize they didn t bother fixing the tire pressure of the car. all my tires were low. and they didn t reset the tire pressure monitoring system which is supposed to be reset with a tire install. this is ridiculous considering we paid for a service and now have to pay more money to reinstall the studs and buy a new stud that their workers broke. We will never be bringing any of our vehicles here again.

Make an appointment before in.Excellent shop and excellent auto service with the convenient price. they charge me $22 plus tax plus a$4 shop fee for oil change as bring my own oil & filter.Good service.

These guys are extremely slow. Want 2 new tires and a alignment. Almost 3 hours and counting.This is unacceptable and will never bring my car here again. 4 hours total. No status or anything. Awful place . This is the old post road location, Edison.Update: After my complaint the manager from That Pep boys shop contacted me and he offered his sincere apology for the the bad service I received and offered free service if I would agree to come back. I wasn't expecting any phone call back from my complaint much less and apology. Thanks McQuade (the store manager who was off that day) for renewing my faith in excellent customer service. Thanks Again.

I had sworn off Pep Boys! I never had a problem with the maintenance conducted, but the wait times were astronomical even with an appointment. I visited this Pep Boys 2 years ago and I waited 4-hours for an oil change. To be fair, this was/is common at many of the other sites I visited (Carteret, roselle. North Brunswick wasn't bad).I went in last weekend for an oil change and tire rotation. I immediately noticed the upgrades to the waiting area, very nice. I was greeted almost immediately by the nicest staff! Martin was a true pleasure! The mechanic finished my oil change and rotation in under an hour!I had been taking my vehicle to the dealership to get serviced lately; on my last two visits I asked them about the noises coming from my brakes and was reassured by their mechanics that my vehicle passed all the complimentary point inspections and that everything was "fine". After my service at Pep Boys last weekend, the mechanic there immediately saw problems with my front brakes and rotors, without me even asking him to check! I knew there was something wrong!Martin was able to schedule me for the additional service with the SAME mechanic for the following week. He also went through Pep Boys' on-going promotions, and I was able to save a nice % on the total price. If service at Pep Boys remains this way, they'll have a lifetime customer in me.Martin thanks again!

My visit today was absolutely amazing. First Rosa squeezed me in last minute. Only for Richard to point out my bolts were stripped from my tire replacement a few days ago. Due to the patience and observation they saved me a lot of money and I will be coming to pep boys moving forward.

Second time I ve come here for an oil change, second time I ve waited a ridiculous amount of time. What is the point of making an appointment if I ve been here over an hour and my car still is sitting outside not even in a bay. Hire more people or become more efficient. Guess I can look forward to sitting here another hour and a half , smh.Edit: 3 hours and still waiting for a simple oil changeEdit: finally got my car back, 4 hours and 15 minutes after my scheduled 9am appointment

NOTE: Everyone at the Pep Boys in Edison are very accomodating and execute their jobs quickly and efficiently.That being said, I brought a rim & tire to Pep Boys because it was flat and I couldn't find a puncture. I left it at the shop in the morning and was told that they'd take a look at it. I got a call at night saying they had found a dent in the rim. I explicitly asked for them to get a quote for the repair before any work was done as prices can vary, depending on the severity of the damage, and I would make a decision to either go with the repair or just do an outright replacement. The next day I got a call from the shop saying my rim was already repaired without my authorization and the charges were roughly the same price as replacing with a rim in the same/better condition.I expressed the disappointment that they hadn't contacted me, even though I was ensured on the phone that no repairs would be done until I received a quote. They apologized and said they weren't sure why this had happened. I received the same apology when I picked up the tire and no further explanation could be provided.Again, the technicians and attendants at the location were very courteous. But, be wary when they state that they will give you an estimate before work is done on your vehicle.

Service was excellent. The rep that helped me, Mcquaid, went above a beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I was impressed with his patience and willingness to work with me. Overall, Mcquaid, Eli and the rest team made a difficult situation much easier for me. I would definitely recommend them to others, and will certainly be returning next time I need service.

I rarely leave reviews for a store, but this one should not have 4 stars. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I definitely would. On March 29, I bought 2 tires from Tire Rack because I needed a new one for my left rear wheel. So, I decided to replace both rear tires and had Tire Rack ship them directly to this store for installation, as it's close to my home. My appointment was at 9 am, and I arrived just after 8 am to inform them of my 9 am appointment. Tire Rack's email informed me that the tires would arrive at their store by April 2. However, the front desk initially couldn't find them. I called Tire Rack in their presence, and then they suddenly found the tires. 3-4 hours later, when I went to pick up my car, I discovered that the TPMS Sensor on the right rear wheel was damaged. I went back to ask them to check if the TPMS Sensor was forgotten to be installed or if there was another issue. They just kept me waiting without telling me how long it would be. The service was really poor. I couldn't wait any longer as I had work to do. Be very cautious if you decide to visit this store.

I went for new tires and service was fast, Martin at the counter was great. He went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. There was a balancing issue which required me to go back two more times. The third time was a charm because the balancing issue was corrected and I was completely satisfied with the end result and compensation extended to me by Martin for me being inconvenienced. I will definitely go back. Also, the master tech Luis was great. Everyone I dealt with took their time to explain my issues and kept me updated on my service. So thank you to the entire team for showing care in the process of getting my vehicle back on track.

I did really want to like this place based on the good reviews. However it was no better than other Pep Boys when it comes to scheduling. I asked for the earliest available appointment and was given a same day 3PM appointment for an oil change. I was told it should take no more than an hour, 90 minutes at most and confirmed both on the call as well as at my 3PM exact check-in time it would not go over 5PM. At 5PM my car had still not been moved from where I had parked it. After reminding the advisor I was then told it would be the next car that would be handled and finally at 5:15 is when they started working on my car. The work was done by 5:45 PM but it took another 20 minutes for the desk person who was all by himself on such a busy day to get my paperwork ready. Management should not double/triple book so many people at the same time and when they do have so many, they should at least have additional staff during the late evening hours so that checkout itself does not get delayed. Whey even make an appointment on the same day knowing its an overbooked day is beyond understanding. I was not the only person delayed - most people waiting with me on the day were very agitated about the delay they were facing. This is something I have seen at several other Pep Boys and was hoping it would not be the case here - unfortunately it is.

The amount of time and care taken into my situation was impeccable. I truly appreciate the guys who serviced me and my vehicle. Tom, Martin, Pierre these guys were truly amazing. Fast, knowledgeable, and efficient. 10/10 highly recommended

The old Pepboys was disgusting. The people were rude, pricing was very unclear, repair services were shady.The new renovated Pepboys is a great fresh surprise, the front desk people are much softer and kinder, they tell you clear prices from the beginning. And the repair work seems to be good so far. (Phil is amazing by the way)

My appointment today at 4pm, the lady told me that for a 4 tires installation 2-3 hours of wait time. I said ok, I ll wait. 3 hours passed without them telling me that my car has not even been bought in for them to work on it. Don t even waste your time to come at Edison pepboys location. You re time is valuable. Unacceptable and unprofessional. Never again. I left, I will not wait more than 3 hours. If there s shortage of staff then they need to be honest with customers and notify them is better to drop off rather than wait or if short staff not to schedule a lot of customers. PERIOD.

My technician Tom and the customer service rep Martin were amazing they answered all my technical questions. I was able to understand completely what my service would include and how it would be handled 10/10 highly recommend.P.s Pierre was great also I was able to ask him questions also and he was very helpful with making sure I understood his explanation.Thanks again!!

I came in to have a leak on my tire checked they checked all my tires. The guys were wonderful and the assistant manager on duty for today November 25 was fantastic and this is the Pep Boys on route one and old Post Road in Edison and the young man was very polite, very informative, and very diligent in his job, I hope the company realizes what a good asset. This young man as an assistant manager is the company.

1st and last time ever coming here. What is the point of making an appt when they don't honor your time. Had an appt for a simple oil change at 1130am, provided oil and filter for them as well. It is 115pm and I am still waiting. I'm sorry , but I should not be waiting 2 hrs for a oil change. I highly reccomend anyone looking to do a oil change to go to jiffy lube or mobile 1 express. Oil change should take 30 minutes. Not over 2 hrs. This is ridiculous and absurd. Wish I could give 0 stars! Update : brought in 2 5 qt jugs of oil , and they claimed that one wasn't full. It is now 145 pm and my car just got finished... nit only do I think they're robbing me for oil.. but 2 hrs and 15 min for a oil change... never heard of.

Amazing service!!! Martin helped me out a whole bunch and was able to answer any inquires I had. They even let you know about current or future coupons to try to save you some money. Genuinely a good experience and I would highly recommend here for anyone else.

Service and customer service here is top notch. The only reason I gave 4-stars is because who ever worked on my car dirtied my seats and around my car. There has to be a way to care for the seats... deep cleaning a SUV ain't cheap :(

Just wanted to share a little story with you. A few years back, I had to get my car's wheels balanced, so I went to Pep Boys and they convinced me to get a lifetime warranty. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I went in for the same service. Turns out, they discovered some rust on my spring and rod and asked for a hefty $1600 to honor the warranty. Honestly, I'm not so sure about these guys anymore.Take care and stay safe

Made my appointment online, showed up a bit early for 4 tire replacement. Arrived and was greeted by one of the employees. We had a nice chat about things. My key fob was asked for- we went over the items I had chosen online. I was asked if I was leaving it or going to wait. I told them I would wait and that I'd be right back. Went to a local store to get a beverage, came back and perused the internet on their wifi- also read over a few magazines in the waiting area. I received 2 emails during the process- one was an itemized review of what they were recommending due to the age/mileage of my car. The 2nd was when the vehicle was done and it was my full charge being invoiced.All totaled I spent under 2hrs (including being there an hour early for the appointment) for a 4 tire replacement with balancing and wheel alignment. Everyone was extremely pleasant and courteous as well.Will return for sure.

First time using Pep Boys and not a good look at all so far. 8am appointment, guy didn't show up to open the store until 8:15, my service should take 'an hour', but no techs are here yet and no ETA for them to show up.Having just cancelled my appointment, I was told "yeah, I know the website let's you schedule at 8, but our techs don't get here until about 9:30.". Shame he lied to the other 8qm appointments and told them he'd have them done by 9.First and last time.

I had a new set of Tires installed at this Edison,NJ location. When I picked up the car the Low Tire Pressure warning system came on when I drove 300 feet from the lot. I came back and told the Rep and she had the guys check it again. She told me sometimes the sensors come in when you install new tires. After 3 days of losing air in in all my tires, I decided to go to another location and have it looked at. The other location told me there is corrosion inside of the tire rim and that is what s causing you losing air. I thought to myself why didn t the Pep Boys in Edison New Jersey, tell me this? This made me very upset, and this kind of negligence is completely unforgivable. Avoid the Pep Boys in Edison New Jersey at all costs.

Worst service ever. They will overbook from the web and other channels to increase the inbound traffic to their stores. They will never tell any ETA or respectful of your time. Leave and forget your vehicle is the mantra here. All you hear is SORRY for the mess up and silly excuses for your precious time and money. I am really surprised the corporate is unaware of these things happening at the ground level.I will not return again here in my life time

I came in just to replace my tires. Despite being there on time for my morning appointment it took more than 3 hours to get the job done. Turns out they also did a complimentary inspection, which I did not need or ask for, nor was I made aware of until after the fact. Looks like they've done a decent job with the tires, however when I finally got my car back, the interior smelled really bad and now I need to get the car cleaned up and sanitized. Overall not the worst experience I've ever had but plenty of room for improvement.
