i went to the dealership who wanted an arm and a leg for transmission services. instead went to von kattengell on a recommendation. they're extremely fair, honest, competent. even told me my radiator is rusted out and needed replacing, something the dealership did not pick up on. and he came in well under what the dealership wanted. eric was great and i completely trust him. he does really good work!

Eric is top shelf A#1 great mechanic, So glad I came to him, Gave me an estimate on the work and was true to his word, repaired other things that were not required in scope of work to do (fixed battery hold down and broken oil dipstick) That s right I noticed! Great guy! Thanks Eric!

These guys were incredible! Helped me with my transmission, not only did they immediately check out my fluids but they took it for a test drive and gave me extremely helpful information on my vehicle as well as adding fluids and fixing my issue! They were quick and friendly and made me comfortable and that I wasn t being taken advantage of.Service: Transmission

This place is just nothing short of incredible. Eric was fair and honest with his pricing. His work alone speaks for itself: thorough and did the great job at fixing my cars problem. It's a family run place that's been around since at least the 40s! I recommend going to this business 10x over, hands down! Thank you guys for doing such a great job and getting my car back on the road at a reasonable price and with the most efficient and timely customer service that's out there. Go here! Don't go anywhere else!

From when I first walked in there, to the moment my vehicle was fixed, Eric and his team did things right. I had a problem with trans lines and an oil cooler and not only did he order the parts directly from the dealership to the shop, not only did he keep me updated on their ETA, but the job he did was exceptional and I am more than happy to share my experience due to that. I told him afterwards that I d have people ready to call him to schedule appointments, that they wouldn t be going anywhere else other than him, and he already has one of my contacts going to him by the end of the month for a service. Eric and his team did a great job in assessing and fixing the issue with my car. I took my vehicle that was driving poorly and leaking CVT fluid to a different shop and was quoted a $4500 - $5500 fix for the issue. Upon a recommendation, I took my car to Vonkattengell for a second opinion. Eric and his team identified the root of the issue and were able to fix it the same day for about 1/10th the quoted price of the other shop. I cannot recommend them enough! I took my wife's 2010 Nissan Rogue to Vonkattengell because I've heard multiple people say he is fair, trustworthy and friendly. I'm happy to report you should believe the hype and all these 5 star reviews. Eric took great care of us, communicated the work and timeline and delivered as promised with incredibly fair pricing. Highly recommend!

Brought my son's 2004 Nissan Titan there for a rear differential and axle seal. Eric his staff are the utmost professionals. Although it took a little while given the state of the world right now, for example the availability of getting parts shipped, he and his technicians were outstanding. They even caught a couple things but they weren't even looking for and handled them with ease. I hope never to have an issue that would require his services again but if I did this would be the one and only place I would consider. Thanks again for a great job!

I brought my car in for a transmission replacement and Eric hook me up. At first i was a little skeptical because it's a transmission and wasn't sure if i could trust them. Other customers they stand behind his work so does Eric. I was happy in the end. My car is running hot now Thank you Eric and your crew.

I was towed to Von Kattengell on the recommendation of the truck driver after my axle broke. This was after 5pm. By midday the next day, the axle was repaired and the price was extremely reasonable. I was not pressured into any additional work. I'd since returned to have other work done. Super fast, super friendly, and the best repair value in ten years. Great experience here. Bought a used Jeep Wrangler TJ and it had big transmission issues. Eric gave me options for how it could be fixed and was straightforward about pricing. Chose to go full new transmission and I could not be happier. No hidden costs, and labor was more than reasonable. Definitely recommend if you have transmission issues!Service: Transmission

After reading reviews and bio online, I knew I was going to be taken care of before I even walked in the door. Super friendly service and knowledgeable. They made time for me and made me comfortable. Certainly would recommend and would drive 40 minutes out of my way again to receive this kind of service. Something that was quoted at $2,000 at another location costed me only $300 because this team was much more knowledgeably about the situation. Thank you Eric & team!

I totally recommend Vonkattengell for all your transmission issues.The guys there do excellent work and the prices are really fair.I had my 2015 Silverado taken to them from a Chevrolet dealership where I wasn t feeling comfortable about their services,and thank god I did because I ended up with a better transmission and a better price. Went to Vonkattengell on a recommendation and recieved an excellent no BS assessment. Extremely courteous and professional. Although I was unable to get the work done here like I wanted to Vonkattengell treated me with respect and assessed the situation at no cost. The best in the business from a 4r70w - 4r100 zfhp15 bmw trans all where beyond repair as stated from other shops.. Not only did Eric & his crew get my existing units done with a super quik turn around they did top notch quality work that has exceeded my expectations time and time again. I Would highly recommend them and as I do drive the 45 minutes away rest assured the small compromise is worth the great reward

Very prompt friendly service!! Brought my 05 Hyundai Santa Fe in after it was hard shifting from 2ND to 3rd. Very simple fix other shops wanted to replace the transmission. In and out in no time and very pleased. If you need any kind of transmission work or other automotive repairs I would highly recommend Vonkattengell Transmission service. Thanks again.

I recently went Von Kattengell for transmission repair of my Mini Cooper , as 2nd gear was slipping. Before that I went to 2 other garages for this repair. One repair shop wouldn't touch it, the other was the Mini dealership that wanted $3,500 for the transmission and $1,500 to install !! I brought the car to Eric and he checked it out. He first called me to say that he opened the transmission and found no metal filings to indicate the gears were grinding. The next day he called me to tell me that it was a master valve control - ( which I guess controls the gears? ). In the end, the cost to repair my car was less than a third of what i was quoted by others. I am posting this story because this shop owner is very honest and true to his word. I would feel very safe with his recommendations and his technical abilities. I initially chose Von Kattengell because of all the other local auto repair shops that bring him their transmission repairs. Those shops speak volumes for the integrity of Eric and his business.
