1. When I walked in I asked is there a long wait time for a simple oil change he states not at all we ll load your car up right away Total time from start to finish EXACTLY 2 HOURS JUST FOR AN OIL CHANGE!2. As I asked towards the end how much longer for them to finish (politely) they said just a few minutes to reset your check engine light. Surprise, Surprise check oil light was not reset.3. As I drive away after getting my vehicle back already annoyed, I hear this loud noise, I thought it was my tires or brakes so I drive a little more and park the car. Curiosity tells me to open the hood and what do I see the engine filter cover unclipped and opened, I chuckle try to close it and slightly take a peek inside of it and what do I see? NOTHING as in NO ENGINE AIR FILTER inside, hence the loud noise everytime I accelerated. I went back to them explained these 3 things and she goes and looks for the mechanic that was working on my vehicle, scrambling looking for the original air filter I had inside my vehicle.All in all the WORST experience I have had when it comes to oil changes. Two hours to just drain oil, change oil filter and replenish oil, No tire rotation no oil light reset and give you your vehicle without the engine air filter.Sidenote, if you decide to go into this establishment and wait for your vehicle in the waiting area just know you will come out smelling like a mechanic. They seem to have an automatic air freshener there with no air freshener so umm yea.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! This location is a complete scam. I bought my car here a week ago to get my battery replaced. I waited 2 hours and when it was time to get the diagnostic of my car, the clerk informed me that the guy I saw when I arrived quoted me on the wrong battery. I went from $213 to $286 for a battery. I had a free battery install coupon so that took the price to $256. WHAT A RIP OFF AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. To offer a price, and not honor it is a sham. Then they had a laundry list of things wrong with my car including needing my oil changed. I just got my oil changed 2 months ago and it s fine. Then they said my axle needs to be replaced which was another lie. I told them to give me my keys back. I wasted 3 hours of my time and still have a battery needing to be replaced. I had AAA replace it the next day since it was dead and bought my car to my dealership on Saturday. They said NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY AXLE. My oil was also fine. I would never again go to this location. They will misquote you and lie about repairs that you don t need to meet their quota I guess or simply pocket it.

Oz and Damion are the kindest young men I have ever met! I came into Pep Boys on a rainy day with a tire that was losing air quickly. I had already been to 3 other places and no one wanted to help in the rain. I was a little frantic. Oz greeted me with a big smile and said he was happy to help! Damion joined him outside and they checked out my tire. They went above and beyond! They were genuinely concerned about my safety and even explained the situation to my husband. They filled my tire, told me how to monitor and gave me tips to return home safely. I tried to tip them and they refused. If you need any help or service please go to Pep Boys and ask for Oz and Damion. You won t be disappointed!

Just wanted to take time to thank Oz and the Pep Boy team for assisting me with a screw in my tire and having the will to take me in and help about 25 mins before closing. After having the concern of having to drive 45 minutes home with a slow leak and all service centers closed, I wasn t sure if my tire would ve made it through the night plus to a service center the next day. Oz had great energy and was very welcoming. Thank you again team.

Just wanted to share my experience to others. After leaving work late at night, I ran over a pothole in East Brunswick. In about 10 min, my tire almost became flat. My indicator lights was going on and I was scared! I drove over to Pep Boys and met a young man named "OZ". The shop was already closed but Oz was still working inside. After my request for help, OZ dropped everything and came out of the garage to help me! He immediately looked at the car (after work hours) and he showed me the damage done to my car. He also told me that he can take my car in now and he drew up a ticket so that my car can be looked at next morning. Honestly, I was very impressed with OZ because he told me that everything will be fine and explained what repairs need to be done. I was also impressed with his friendliness and extreme professionalism. He seemed genuinely concerned and i told him that "his mother raised him well". He exhibited courtesy and respect which is more than I expected. I left my car with him and took Uber to get back home at 9 pm. Anyway, the next morning, I spoke to Lewis who followed up with a call. Lewis was also a real professional who answered all my questions. He actually knew about the potholes that I ran over. Thank you to both OZ and Lewis for all your help! I really hope that Pep Boys recognizes your swift action in helping others. You both deserve a raise!!!!

The customer service was amazing. I had my two front tires replaced. Just wished they had inflated the new tires and put the cap on it. Other than that, I am happy with the service provided. I will be back to replace the back ones in a couple of months.

Five Star crew at the East Brunswick location!Pep Boys hires Manager Abdul who is detailed, amazing, professional & available to assist client or co-worker! Abdul then hires Kelly who is detailed, ready to learn & help clients and professional so we win! I watched as customer after customer came and went, all happy and satisfied. For me, l got exactly what I needed ordered, a follow up to that it came in, an appointment right away and was out of there with speed and accuracy! I hope both Abdul and Kelly are rewarded with a raise and or another weeks' vacation - because I know, finding great employees is hard and we must take care of them!

East Brunswick Pep Boys is only a shell of itself. Providing just repair service you no longer need to visit this location. Had brake service done today. Arrived at 8:30 am and finally completed at 2:30 pm. When I was told they needed to get a part, didn t realize it was going to take 3 1/2 hours just for that. Then over 2 more hours to complete the job. Worst part is no communication what so ever. When I approached the desk after a couple hours to see if the work was complete I was asked if any one spoke to me because there was a major delaying in getting the parts. And even after the parts arrived no communication as to progress of the installation. When work was finally completed and I went to pay the person at the desk said you re still here, those parts came in a few hours ago. Too many alternates available to ever use Pep Boys again. Avoid this store and save yourself the aggravation.

Went back to get a nail out of the tire and found issues with 2 tires. Kelley the young lady looked up my history and reminded me that I have hazardous coverage, and then spent literally 25 min finding the best suited tires to replace and prorated the damaged tires. I ended up paying far far less than what I would have paid at the dealership. In addition having the lifetime wheel alignment saved me more $$$. Overall the staff is amazing and we now have all our tire work and oil changes done here. Thanks for fantastic job & service.

I have been getting the occasional work done to my car at this Pep Boys over the years when I don't necessarily need my car to be seen by the dealership. The pricing is fair, they work fairly fast, and they don't mind explaining any issues with your car in detail. If you need your car to be serviced this is a more than decent place to have that work done.

I had a wheel alignment done. I scheduled an appointment and was done fairly quick. The guy at the front desk was very helpful and professional. Overall I am very satisfied with the service.

This is an updated review. I have been going to Pep Boys since I was a kid. This store used to have fair pricing and honest quality work done. Now it has become incompetent. Took 2 days to get 2 strut assemblys replaced on my car. They tell me a need new rotors and brake pads. I am a mechanic and had replaced both 4 months ago myself.It is impossible to wear them out in such a short time. I tell the service tech no. Then I get the bill and they charged me for a wheel alignment. I watched the tech work and they never did it. So the service writer deducted it from the bill. Very disappointed. Will never go back.

"Oz" assisted me with everything when I came here to get my tire fixed. He was amazing and went above and beyond for me. It took longer than I thought for my tires to be fixed. The place appeared disorganized and was really busy. Where was the manager while that poor man was working himself to the bone? Please look after your staff.

The oil change was completed and no one notified me nor did any staff know the status of my vehicle. I was told my oil change would be 1 hour. It took 3 hours. The oil change could have been done after 1 hour but when I asked, know one knew and at one point someone said "Oh.... it's been done for a while now." I was pissed when they told me. I understand if it's a busy day, but if your negligent to people's time, it's insulting.

Zero star if I can.a loyal customer for 3 yrs.After Last oil change. Few month later I had a low engine oil sign, even though my service is not due for another few months and under the mileage. I was out of state pour my own oil. This time I took it for oil change specifically told them that I had low engine oil sign and everything I mentioned. I come back to pick the car and check my oil level barely minimum level. I went inside to ask and raised my concern . Was given a look as I am wrong and gave excuses that it should be at this level.. car is not running yet. They are trying to rip the customer to save some money.didn t do tire rotation (free service offered by them with other service) even though my tires needed it..horrible service .. definitely lost the customer..

So I brought in my 2012 Chevy Traverse for an oil change today at around 11 am.. Right now is 7:49 pm and my car is still there!!! Oil change for over 7 hours? Pathetic !!! 30 minute job is now going to be 1 1/2 days !! I needed CONVENTIONAL oil because my car is almost at 140k miles and I barely drive it now. When a service person named OZ asked me why I want conventional and not synthetic, I explained it to him. He told me it s the same price, which is $100 .. I told him it s not possible for conventional and synthetic to be the same price, but he showed no care.. So I called Pep Boys in North Brunswick and they confirmed that conventional is $55 and synthetic is $100.. Not only did they not give the customer what they want/need, but they also LIED to my face about the price.. No honesty and integrity in this place..

Kelly was very friendly and understanding on the phone. Even nicer in person and gave me a quote of future labor. Sadly I do not remember the name of who helped me at the register, but he previously gave me a run down of what was wrong with my truck a couple weeks ago. Straight forward and sincere. When I came back with no expectations, he went in the back to find the specific tire size that the system would not locate and set me up to have my tires done that night. The mechanic who took my keys understood I loved my truck and I trusted him taking it to work on it. Brian, whom I believe is the supervisor rang me out with honoring a coupon I had and was friendly the entire time. He also let me borrow a charger because my phone was dying which i was very appreciative of. I may have had to sit and wait for the service (obviously) but this time around I was thrilled I was leaving with the right tires and zero hassle. Thank you all, much appreciated.

I visited Pep Boys in in East Brunswick for tire replacement service. The people is very friendly and helpful. The job was done fast, and I was charged less then I expected. So, I was happy. Thanks a lot.

you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. we have been going through some real cd weather everyday and not only does the waiting room have no heat but you also have your mechanics working in the shop without any heat. and to top it all off when I was there in the summer you didn't have any air conditioning as well. for a company as big as pep boys is you would think you would take better care of you customers as well as your employees. I'll make sure my friends and family never go back to your store

The appointments get pushed to the service stations via website. The mechanics do their best in fulfilling all the auto generated appointments but it causes delays. Customers get frustrated when the car is not ready as promised.

Original review - April 2023:These guys are very professional and pleasant to deal with. The job they do is always quick and never overcharged. Also, unlike many other shops, they promptly serve you instead of showing how busy they are.I strongly recommend Pep Boys East Brunswick for servicing your vehicle.Revision to the previous review - October 2023:The staff has changed, and the service is no longer good. I now have to think twice about where to go before scheduling my next tire-related appointment.This time, It took 3.5 hours to replace the tires, despite having a pre-scheduled appointment. Additionally, I had requested an alignment check and adjustment, but the car was returned with the new tires (only after I raised my concerns about the timing), and nobody had even bothered to check the alignment. The representative at the counter was rude and didn't seem to have any interest in serving the clients.

I had brought my car in and the salesman brought me into the shop and I cannot believe the conditions these technicians had to work in, it was completely unacceptable. It was too cold, there was absolutely no heat. I can t believe that these poor men need to work in such a cold environment, I myself didn t even want to stay there for the few minutes I needed to, it felt like a freezer

Brought our car in for a tire puncture patch and an oil change-estimated cost around $100. When we picked it up they charged us $485! They do a coolant exchange, fuel cleaning, brake fluid exchange, etc all without our permission. Took 8 phone calls and a half hour of standing by their registers to get a refund. Very shady business practice.

Worst place to ever get any repair done on your car. Took over two days for a wheel alignment and two new tires install. Just for them to not even finish it . All I ended up with was the two new tires. Waste of my time and money. Never going back here

Service advisor Greg was amazing, but the shop manager Abdul, was a very unprofessional POS! When I asked him if you over see the work in your shop when mechanic finishes vehicle ? Abdul then responded, I m to busy doing other things in the shop, why don t you go in shop and look around yourself! WOW, people and other service managers looked in confusion when they heralded the response of.this POS!

Do not go here!!!! They are the worst. They are scammers. Definitely don t trust them. Honestly I never write a review but I had to do it about this place. Came in for an oil change (I had an appointment) took over two hours. The guys are all just hanging out. Don t not go here!!!!!

Rental car flat tire, Avis approved to change both rear tires supposedly a brand new car less then 1000 miles, took more then 2 hours ,zero efficiency, what a ripoff , this guys are standing around joking and wasting their employer s time.
