I ve been going to Carmen for at least 20 years. They are very honest and reasonable and treat you like family. They always tell you what needs to be fixed and what can wait till the next repair. And they offer factory parts and after market parts to help with your own budget and timing. They have also expanded the makes and models and ages of cars they work on. A true local and honest business that can certainly win everyone s loyalty !!!

Top notch quality service. My family and I have been going to Carmen s Foreign Car Repair since they opened in 1986. Without a doubt, there is no one else as talented, trustworthy and professional as this team. Carmen s is absolutely the BEST around. I highly recommend this shop to anyone.

I don t know why it s taken me so long to leave a review! I have been coming here since the 80 s. Carmen has always gone above and beyond to help me and my family. I never have to worry when I bring my car here. They do top notch work and are always fair with their prices. The fact that they are always swamped with cars/customers is a testimony in itself. I consider myself blessed that I m able to bring my cars here for maintenance & repairs. Carmen s Foreign Car Repair has been fixing my cars since my very first car as a teenager, around 15 years of them being my mechanic. They been fixing my parents cars for even longer! Staff is always lovely and both my family and I trust them wholeheartedly. I ve also bought a car from them and I ve had it for years without any issues.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Carmen's is a great place for all repairs . I have both an Acura TL and Honda CRV and all my repair work is done at Carmen's. The staff is friendly and the work is excellent. Carmen's is the BEST!! They will always provide you with honest assessments of what your car needs and the best way to get it done for the best price. I have been a customer for a long time and my whole family uses them!!! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone!! They took care of my Honda Civic and now care for my Toyota!

This morning 6/2 my fianc� took my car to Carmen's for an oil change. I purchase my own oil and filter so the oil change is usually no more than $25. This time the mechanic said it was the wrong size filter and that they would use their own filter. After the oil change my fianc� went back to auto zone to return the filter and the guy at the counter explained that some mechanic shops do this so you can buy their parts. Come to find out, the filter we bought was 7317 and when my fianc� opened the hood of the car, low and behold the mechanic also used 7317. I was charged $43 because of this filter incident. I have been changing my oil at Carmens since 2017 and will not be returning here.

Disappointed in this shop for lying to me about work that needed to be done on my car. I'm a new resident of Cranford, living down the block from Carmens and would have been a lifelong customer if not for this:I went in for a tire rotation, brake & fluid inspection. They told me that my drive belt (serpentine) needed to be replaced, and that I should come back the following day so they could order a replacement belt from Honda for me.I had my drive belt replaced one year ago at a different shop, which Carmen's didn't know about. I checked the belt's condition myself and found that it was still in great shape. When I asked Carmen's if their insistence on changing my drive belt was a guess based on my mileage, they said to "come in and we'll show you."When I arrived, I informed the mechanic that I'd only put 2,600 miles on the belt since last changing it and his face dropped (they usually run for ~50,000-100,000miles). We opened up the hood for him to "show me" the issue - only to find us both staring at a drive belt with no visible damage. The guy danced around it for a few minutes, suggesting that since the belt I was using wasn't Honda brand "it might not last as long as you want it to..." but ultimately he admitted that the belt is in fine shape and does not need to be replaced.I'm a woman who appears younger than I am, and I drive a silly bright blue Honda Fit, so I'm accustomed to auto mechanics trying to overcharge me for work or insist on maintenance items that don't actually need to be done. I was stoked to have a Honda mechanic at the end of my block, but now that they lied to me I can't say I'll ever be able to trust them again.Services: Tire rotations, Brakes

Any time I have to bring my car in for repairs or maintenance of any kind, I known it will get handled inexpensively and expertly at Carmen's. They are very accommodating, and we're able ti get my car serviced and back to me in just a couple hours. This is the only place I will bring my Honda.

Very knowledgeable and extremely fair.Brought a 2019 Acura in for a seatbelt malfunction. They could have easily replaced and charged me. Instead, in my presence , they called Acura service and found out that particular malfunction is covered up to 150,000 miles!

I used to do all the work myself on my civics, but when time started becoming harder to find I started looking for a shop that I can trust. It's amazing how many places try to bs you thinking you don't know anything. I eventually found Carmen's and have been going to this shop exclusively for probably 10 years now. It's a family run place with great mechanics who take pride in the work they do. The turn-around is quick, prices are fair, and they are very honest. For that reason, even after moving 40 mins away, I've continued going here.I've had work done like a transmission flush, shocks/struts/bushings, axles, control arms, timing belt, valve adjustment, top end rebuild, transmission seals, axle bearings, etc and it has always come out perfect.They've basically done all the work on my last 2 civics. My cars are running far longer than i thought they would. I sold my last civic with 300k miles and it ran perfectly. My current is approaching 270k with no issues. They know what they're doing.Thanks for being such a great shop!

Carmen and Mike are great hard working people. Very nice family. They are honest and do exceptional work.They genuinely care about the work they perform on your vehicle. Mike carefully explains what needs to be done and what may need attention in the future. A friend recommended Carmen to us and we are blessed. Our friend told us that her family has gone to Carmens for over 25+ years.It is often very stressful when a car breaks down and we have had cars towed to Carmens. He will fix your car the right way and at the right price. Carmen's will take care of you!Carmen has worked on our Honda 's, Toyota's and most recently our Ford Explorer. I've been bringing my Acuras here to Carmen's for approximately 10 years now (if not longer). Never had an issue. I find them to be upfront, reasonably priced and most importantly, honest. Whether waiting for the service to be done or dropping my car off, it's always ready when promised. Now that I just purchased a CR-V, I'll be bringing it to Carmen's as well.

Honest mechanics with knowledge about all models. I bring my Mercedes as well as my Acura to them. I use to past this place all the time when I was going to college and never thought anything about it. I knew they worked on Acura and that's what I had. It wasn't until a friend of mine dad told me I should check them out that I did. That was at least 3 years ago and I've been a loyal customer ever since. The guy I assume is the manager is named Mike. (Even though he never remembers me ) He always tries to help me out as much as he can when it comes to cost and helping understand what's wrong with my vehicle. This place has been my 1st choice over the dealer for the last few years and I don't plan on changing that. These guys do it all very nice men great at what they do, and in this day in age it is hard to find ANYONE honest but I can proudly say they are honest people .. I have been going to them ever since I got my first car.. My grandfather had been going to them since they opened. I swear by there expertise Carmen! Great businessmen he knows his stuff.. His son Micheal great man! He JUST like his father know Honda's Acura's like the back of there hand... I am a long time customer and I will be so as long I live in the area! ALL of the shop is great service, wish they had a bigger lot! Other then that they both Carmen and His son will work on your car... Great guys, Great service, Great everything and MY entire family will swear by them and there expertise, even the small things that you might have with your car they CAN fix anything! I am so blessed to have met and known them. They are HONEST men.. with ALL of there customers ONLY thing i could wish was a bigger garage! That shouldn't stop ANYONE who has a Honda or Acura from there great service.. wouldn't go to another mechanic..

I stopped in here one day in the beginning of the pandemic when money was a little tough and I asked one of the guys if i could bring my own oil/filter. The gentleman did not even hesitate to say no. Times are tough right now for everyone and for this shop to go that extra mile for me says the unspeakable.
