Mike has taken care of 2 or 3 of my vehicles over the last ~15 years. From transmission concerns to basic maintenance like brakes and oil changes, this shop can handle it! Mike is honest and takes his time to explain everything. Pricing is up front and competitive. This last time my car was cleaned when I picked it up and I received a follow up text checking on how the car was. Absolutely will continue going back and you should too.

I would give them ten stars if I could. Mike, the owner, handles all transactions. He is honest and thorough and educates me along the way. If you want your car to be well maintained, you'll take it there.

I've had a great experience. Mike was upfront with pricing, knowledgeable, cordial and prompt with responses and did his best to get me the best price for a new transmission for my older Mustang. Unfortunately, the transmission is not worth the trade in value but I'm grateful to Mike for doing the due diligence.

Five stars!!!! Any time I bring any of my vehicles in for work. I have used this shop for over 5 years and continue to get top of the line service. The owner does a great job running this place and it shows from management to staff. I took my car in for what I expected to be a clutch replacement, turns out it was a broken bracket on the clutch pedal. It ended up costing much less than expected. Mike was professional and kind throughout the diagnosis and repair process, I feel he charged me an honest price. It only took about 3 days between calling about the issue and having it repaired. I will return and definitely recommend Mike and his shop if your vehicle needs fixing.

I had the most incredible car repair experience, thanks to Mike Gangemi and his team. Mike talked me through everything that needed to happen to bring my car back to proper working order. I felt like he cared about the issue and wanted to make things right. To top that off, the repair was affordable. I'm not even local, but every time I'm in NJ and my car needs to be seen -- I'm going straight to Cedar Grove and Mike's shop. The owner Mike and his team know what they are doing. All of the staff including Mike are very friendly and knowledgeable. He is an honest mechanic which is a rarity. He was recommended by my mechanic because my car had transmission problems. I do not give out five star reviews very often

A++, 110% satisfied!!! What started as a simple New Jersey state inspection two days before I drop the vehicle off found a horrible antifreeze leak Mike and his team were able to fix the radiator same day, they even used the antifreeze I had purchased prior so they did not need to charge me for additional fluids very hard to find honesty in this business I returned a few days later for inspection and have been nothing but beyond satisfied. I will absolutely refer and continue to use Cedar Grove transmission and auto repair in the future!!! Ps owner on site and working with his crew ALWAYS!!!

This is hands down probably the best auto repair shop in town. Skip Pep Boys or Mavis, come here! Support the local businesses! It's not even because of that, Mike has INTEGRITY. Something very rare for the auto repair business. He is a unicorn when it comes to those matters. He will NOT try to upsell you on any service or item that is not needed. He will tell you what needs to be done, and give you the most pragmatic and economical price for the work. Nothing extra, just what you need at the moment. He is a genuine person and his work is masterful. If you need tires, he does them as well. He usually gets next day delivery for the tires, and the prices are sensible. I can not emphasize this enough, HE WILL NOT UPSELL YOU ON ANYTHING. He is an asset to the community, and we should support our local businesses. Mike is great!! This was my first time here, on a recommendation from friends, and this was the best experience I've ever had with car repairs. I've been driving cars 'til the wheels fall off for almost 25 years. Mike gave my car a thorough assessment and handled all the emergency stuff, but he didn't scare me into thinking my car needed a complete overhaul. He does fast, thorough work at a reasonable price. I'm so relieved to have found a reliable service person.

All the reviews were spot on to my experience. I called Mike to let him know what was going on with my car, he said to bring it right down and a technician would look at it immediately. Not only did that occur but he even gave me a ride home while the car was being worked on! He took the time to test drive the car with me to ensure the problem was sufficiently diagnosed, reviewed the repair options and presented very fair pricing with detailed explanation of what to expect. Best of all, my car was fixed that same day, even though the part needed wasn t stocked!Very pleased with the whole experience and it s refreshing to see a business run the way Mike does!

Very glad to have finally found a good and trustworthy local mechanic. My wife found Mike while we were shopping for a use car and wanted to have it checked out before deciding. She was impressed with his service so I set up for an oil change and to have my brakes done at the suggestion of a prior mechanic. Mike said that I still had wear left in the pads. Two oil changes later and still no need for the brake job. It is refreshing to find a mechanic that will advise you as a partner and not just try to sell you more repairs to improve their bottom line.

I've been seeing Mike to repair and/or maintain my vehicles for over 10 years. You will not find another shop anywhere in NJ with the highest level of integrity, honesty, quality of service, professionalism, quick turnaround time, and fair pricing that Cedar Grove Transmission provides. And don't let the name fool you, as these guys are experts in all areas of auto repair. It is truly refreshing to know that you can take your car in for service blind-folded and never again get ripped-off. The only worry I have is if Mike ever decides to retire or sell his shop - what am I to do??

Mike is just a great guy who doesn't give you the run around. Very rare to find mechanics who don't try to B.S. you these days. Cedar Grove transmission does quality work with a very fast turn around time. I will be taking all my future vehicles here for repair if needed.

I initially took my 2011 Jeep to my usual car guy in Montclair when the transmission began to slip. He's a great repair man, but he didn't hesitate to recommend Mike at Cedar Grove Transmissions for the job. And I can see why. Some places are run by nice guys that don't do a great job. Other places know their stuff, but are condescending jerks.Cedar Grove Transmissions were thorough, polite, timely and brought my car back to life. Best of all, they were HONEST.

I am not sure how this place got such a high rating! Real transmission repair is non-existent in this shop. Owner seems to cherry pick jobs and push away customers. Good luck finding skilled mechanics with integrity in this decade.

Mike was wonderful, my check engine light was on he explained each code and did a very thorough inspection of the car and what was wrong. It is so hard to find a good honest mechanic and I believe we have found our new mechanic. Thanks Mike!!!

Amazing services and result. Mike helped me repairing car AC on time. I dropped it before going to work at 8 AM and car was ready at 4 PM. Very reasonable price as well.
