While on vacation we ended up with an emergency on the turnpike. Thankfully we took the following exit and lucked into there being a pep-boys. Kristina and Ronald were extremely profession and courteous, they were capable of getting us in the next open bay. Ceaser Jr was amazing and quickly got us back on the road. Highly recommend we had such a wonderful experience.

We stopped to charge our car and discovered a piece of metal in the tire. Luckily, Pep Boys was in the same shopping center. They took the car immediately, consulted us before making the repair, and figured out a way to patch the tire and get us back on the road in less than an hour! What a lucky stop!

I called first to see if pep boys could help me with my tire it had a slow leak they said sure bring it in they were very professional kind and quick it was the best service ever I will definitely recommend all my friends and family to go to pep boys they truly care and they definitely deliver great service. I brought my mother's car into Pep Boys of Carteret over the weekend on July 23 because she needed to fix up her car in order to pass inspection. She needed a new muffler and intermitent pipe and center pipe along with a new coil connector and I also asked them to do a oil change, tire rotation and a tune-up along with inspect the car to see what else is needed if anything. I asked for this inspection & tire rotation in the online appointment form and in person when I dropped off the car.I had to leave it overnight as it was Sunday and they had to wait on some parts which was completely fine. They called me on Mon evening letting me know the car was ready but I was at work so I wasn't able to pick it up until Tuesday morning. I picked it up and brought the car back home to my mother and noticed that the fluid levels(windshield & coolant) were basically empty but had some on hand in my garage so I filled it myself. I then noticed that the tires were not rotated as requested online and in person so I called them and spoke to Ronald who is the service manager and he told me to bring it back in which I did.I won't call him a mechanic but Ronald had one of his service techs (Julian) take the car into the shop and do the tire rotation which took about 20 minutes. My wife and I waited in the parking lot the entire time and Julian drove the car back out to the parking lot. He backed it into the parking spot so I would only see the left side of the car which was odd but didn't pay it much mind. Ronald (service mgr) gave me the keys and I was back on my way.I drove the car right back to my mother's house which is 3 minutes away and when I parked the car I noticed that my wife was staring at the right side of the car. When I got out my wife asked me what happened to the bumper. When I looked at the rear bumper it had a big dent in it and the bumper was also detached from the car. There were also white scratches and scuff marks on the bumper and the tail light. The white didn't look like paint but more so light concrete or cement. I immediately jumped back into the car and went back to Pep Boys.I went by the garage and noticed that there are concrete poles on each side of the shop doors so it looks like the tech hit one of those. My mom's car is an 05 Sentra which is basically a go cart(it's tiny) so he must've been annoyed that he had to stop working on another car in order to do that tire rotation. I say this because it's a deep dent and not just a graze. He must've been going pretty fast for it to leave such a mark and almost rip the bumper off. Why is there any need to drive a customers car like this?The service manager (Ronald) filed a claim and said that they(pep boys insurer) will call me to have someone look at the damage on the car to see if they are responsible to fix it but I have yet to receive any calls and it's been a few days now. I have called Pep Boys Customer Service but they just keep saying that someone will call me. I told the service manager and customer service that it is unsafe for my mother to drive the car like this since the bumper is basically almost touching the tire.All of the techs there seem really young & unprofessional and It really shows in their quality of work or should I say lack thereof.I've gone to mechanics for almost 25 years now and this is by far the worst experience that I've had by far. I highly doubt I'd ever go back to another Pep Boys I don't care how close they are.So long story short. Brought the car in for repairs and get the car back needing more repairs....Awesome!

Very bad service at this Carteret PepBoys. They don't stock oil filter for oil change, and worse, they don't tell you, so you have to wait for hours until the filter arrives from other location. They had to use the same old oil filter of my BMW 535, because the new one never made to the store. And, I was still charged for that oil filter

Came in to get my four swapped out as I had two bubbles on the front driver side. The third party responsible to drop of the tires were not responding on the day of delivery and the guys at the shop were able to quickly get me replacements that fit, matched the price point, and got me back on the road as soon as possible. The tire sensor ended up going along the way but the guys went above and beyond and made sure I was taken care of. Car stuff can get annoying but at least the workers here were able to make it as easy and painless as possible.Edit: came back on 1/19/23 for brake and rotor replacement. I was having a rough day and just came out of an overnight shift and the employees and manager were very patient with me even when I was lacking some self control myself. At feels good and rides well and I m happy to feel safer for the winter

Called in on a Saturday morning for a nail in my tire, and they immediately took me in. Took about 20 minutes to get it done and I was expecting to stay for a whole hour, but they were so quick with the service! Everyone there is so cordial and welcoming and they did it free of charge ! I was so impressed by the staff, I felt that my car was in the right hands. Please go here, they re amazing!

I went to pepboys and I was in a bad spot. But the employee that helped me was so professional and kind. They were able to help me and I was nearly in tears with gratitude. I will always remember this kindness. This review goes out to you man!

We were road tripping and all of a sudden one of our tires was losing air super fast and wouldn t take air. We were able to call pep boys and they got us in immediately, had our valve stem repaired and tire good as new in less than a half hour. Great service and we were back on the road in no time. Thanks so much!

Under Linden G team, they have messed up my car. I went to Pepboys to show them the proof, but the new manager acted clueless. Now, I have to repair my car by paying for a new transmission on a Honda. I don't recommend Pepboys to anyone. Please stay away from that place.

Avoid at all costs, especially if you are a woman. It was very very obvious from the beginning they were just trying to squeeze the most money out of me as they could. Probably thinking I don't know anything about cars because of my gender. They tried telling me I need a new cat converter... the car had passed inspection LITERALLY 30 minutes before I brought the car into the shop. Then, they tried to charge me for a lifetime alignment service even though I explicitly declined any service other than an A/C recharge. And THEN, they also tried to charge me for tire service (repairs?) even though they claimed they could not patch my tire because it's "too old." So... what the heck were they actually charging me for? If you must go here, only go on the last day of the month because at that point they're desperate to up the numbers to close the month and they are more willing to give a good discount. But only if you know anything about cars or have gotten quotes at other places first.

Came for a simple oil change. When I got the car the gloves compartment was broken and cabin air filter was out. When I asked what happened the guy s response was , It just broke . Told me i have to buy a new gloves compartment. So, basically they broke my stuff and didn t even apologize. Absolutely worst place ever.

Brought my jeep here for an oil change and alignment. It only has 16k miles and is the first time for alignment. They come and tell me a tow bolt broke and it looked like jeep put it on wrong, and I needed to take it to the Jeep dealer to get repaired. So 4 hours later I m out $700 andThey do nothing about it.

Absolutely disgusted in the damages to my vehicle and the service manager Linden's behavior and treatment when I spoke to him about the damages. Had them change all 4 tires and when I got my car back every rim had scratches and indentations along the edges of the rim and some in the center. (through the PPF protective covering on rims as well!)Linden would not even take a look at the rims and claimed his machine cant scratch metal. Proceeded to show me the plastic on his one arm tire changing machine. Treats people as if they don't know what they're talking about. When i told him they used a metal crow bar to remove the tire and called him out on his schemes he changed his excuse and said i should have took pictures before hand and that i brought him "used rims."Absolutely disgusted in his arrogant rude behavior and his claims to help people when the rude pepboys service manager couldnt even go outside to look at the damages they put on my rims. Could be minor to some, could be devastating to others, but at the very least go take a look Linden.

I ran over a nail on the way to work and didn't have a chance to do anything about it. Made an appointment online to have it checked after work and they were able to find the nail and repair the tire. Relieved to be able to drive home without worrying about a flat.

I had a great experience at Pep Boys of Carteret after a very disappointing interaction at Sansone Kia. The technicians at Pep Boys were quick, efficient, and economical. I needed a new tire and all 4 brakes done. I will be going back soon to replace the brakes on my wife s car as well.

I had just gotten in the car to run some errands. I suddenly saw one of my tires was very low. I immediately went to pep boys and sure enough it was a nail in the tire. The tire on question was just two months old because as luck would have it I had a nail in that same tire two months ago. I really can't afford to just keep buying tires. They did everything they could to keep the price low and they got me back on the road quickly.
