ADULTS ONLY. Stayed here when it was family friendly. Staff was always friendly and it was a reasonable rate for the shore and a small family with young children. Not anymore, unfortunately. New owners made it into an adults only motel and raised the rates. So much greed. Jersey shore becomes less and less attainable for lower or middle income families.

Hate to report this but stayed there 2 weeks ago for one night and got eaten up by bed bugs!!! Never had one before in my life but it was confirmed by a doctor. The place refuses to acknowledge this. There was absolutely no other way I could have gotten them. Room 32. My mother-in-law was in the other bed and also got bitten, not as severe as mine. I had at least 30-35 bites on one arm and then forehead, feet legs and back . Please be aware! I am really surprised at the lack of concern for this matter on their part.

This is usually our go to spot when we visit in the off-season. We tend to rent a room in December and then in March or April (or both). The rooms are perfect for my husband and I along with our midsize dog. I'm looking forward to see what they do with the place while it is closed for renovations this winter 2023/2024.Rooms: I've always stayed in a first floor pet-friendly room. These have a combined bedroom/living area with a small kitchenette area with a dorm-sized fridge, sink, dishes, microwave, and stocked with dish towels, dish detergent, etc. Perfect size for a couple for a few nights. The only thing I wish it had was a small table for dining.Nearby activities: There are numerous activities throughout Cape May including beach access, shopping, dining, and historical sites. There is a park within walking distance of the Beach Club.Safety: Always felt safe in this area. Located in a residential community.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The rooms are very cozy, and I like the beachy feel. It even has a small kitchen. The prices are Great, and they don't charge very much extra for pets. They only charge for a pet room. The staff is also very nice and very helpful. It's located in a nice, secluded place. It has tables and chairs for outside smoking in a nice little area. What a find. If you are looking for a nice and also reasonably priced motel, this is the place.

Close to the beach and downtown area. The pool was clean and pretty. The room was a typical beach hotel room. We had a fridge, and microwave - even plates etc.The beds weren't that comfortable. The entire first floor was pet friendly, which was nice that we didn't need to walk our dog up the stairs.

My mom and I have been coming to Cape May for years. The Madison Avenue "Beach Club" is not a motel that meets Cape May's standards. Let's just say we checked in and not even thirty minutes later, checked out. Thankfully another dog friendly hotel had availability. Besides being dated, the cleanliness of the room was mediocre, at best. The floor looked as if it hadn't been swept or mopped; there was a noticeable amount of dog hair on the couch; the refrigerator was rusty and clearly had been painted; the microwave hadn't been cleaned well (if at all) judging by the smell of it and the bed was lacking bedding. We did not bother asking for a refund as it was just easier to leave and find better accommodations. We have stayed in several places in Cape May and this is not one I would recommend. The only positive was the girls in the office who were friendly and welcoming.

When assessing Cape May lodging, time of year and location vs. price are the keys. This was a bargain for our stay. We spent 3 nights here, mid-July. Room reflected the decent price for summer; was very basic. But it was clean, with comfortable beds, with daily service. Just enough on-site parking, but there is overflow on the street, which isn t busy. Pool is big enough and nicely maintained, and there is a good size barbecue area with a few tables and a Weber grill. No, it s not beachfront; it s three or four short blocks to the beach, and Harry s at the end of the street (Madison) is a decent happy hour destination that also does breakfast. Washington mall is walkable if fit, 3 or 4 long blocks away but there is lots of metered parking along the way, too. Glad we saved a few bucks on the front end here because nothing comes cheaply in summer. It was a quality stay.

We made a last minute booking and the Beach Club fit the best. Our room was perfect for 2 people. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue was the flow on the shower was so restricted that short of a Marine high and tight one would have a hard time washing their hair. It looks like the room is also being remodeled as the carpet seam at the tile had exposed tackless that would cut your foot. We covered it with a towel for our stay. We would comeback if we come back to Cape May

Our experience was neither bad nor great. For what we paid, it would say it was worth it, we knew we weren't getting a 5 star hotel, but the room was just right for our stay and loved that we could walk to the beach in just under a mile. Good size bathroom, the kitchenette was very convenient for our one night there, especially with children. The room appeared to be clean, except maybe the carpet. A few, complaints would be, that smoking is allowed, there is a set of patio chairs and table outside each room, which would have been nice, they provide an ash tray, so every time we opened the door, the people next to us and below is were outside smoking only a few feet from our door and our whole room would immediately smell like smoke. The provided blankets on the beds had cigarette holes. One issue we had was right after booking, we chose to pay at check in, rather than at booking. A day or two after booking, I received a very brief, direct message from the hotel going over basic rules and one of them was that a full deposit was required during booking and they took all the money out of our account that day. Even though during booking, paying at check in was obviously an option. I had to call the hotel 22 (yes, I counted) times before anyone answered, and no one could tell me why that happened. The staff was very friendly, I can't complain about that. One last thing was that they use actual keys, like house keys for the rooms, and the people who checked out of our room that morning only turned 1 of 2 keys, which left us uneasy, as they couldn't just change the lock. I can't say for sure that we would, or would not, stay here again, our experience was mostly positive, even with the issues we had.

Only stayed for 1 night, but it was a clean and efficient room for what I needed. Shower stall was large and clean, but the showerhead/water pressure was terrible. Bed was very soft, not my preference, but there were lots of pillows and decent blankets. I was unclear on the pet policy- the contract I signed said no pets, but there were several other guests with dogs. Luckily, the dogs were quiet overnight. Overall, a good place for a short stay!

Don t ever stay here!!!! We just got back from our 2 night stay(should have been 3 but we left a day early). The room is filthy and outdated. The air conditioning smelled awful and made everything feel damp and sticky inside. We had a small French bulldog with us. Every time we left to go to eat the front desk would call us and said people were complaining about our dog barking in his cage in the room. Our dog was not the issue. The issue was that our room was next to the maintenance closet and the men were going in and all day/night. Also, there was a screaming baby next door and children above us jumping around. I never once complained about that, but the front desk has the nerve to call me and ask me to come back to the room. I would never stay at this place again. It s not 2 stars, more like 0!!!!!!!

Very nice. Perfect for my needs. Clean, roomy, comfy bed, in-room mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, good size tv, chairs and table with ash tray outside the room. It's a 15 minute walk to business district where the Exit 0 Jazz Fest was located. The room rate was less than half the hotels in the heart of the city. Will definetly be back.

Stayed here for an extended weekend with my two children. We all loved it. Very comfortable, clean rooms. Convenient amenities like coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Rooms were spacious. Especially the bathroom, most motel bathrooms are tiny, this one was nice, large and had lots of dotage space. Check in and check out process was super fast and the staff was so nice. The location of the motel is in a nice quiet area and a short walk to the beach and to town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can t wait to come back!

This place is awesome, booking a stay was easy, checking in and checking out was painless and the rooms were great, definitely perfect for 2 people. Rooms were very clean, pretty spacious and very comfy. Also has great A/C. Very close to the beach only being a few blocks away and close to all the action surrounding. Has a clean pool and hot tub that s open pretty much all day but closes a little early. Only downside was that we never got new towels to shower with after we left them out all day but other than that no complaints at all. Definitely recommend if your trying to save some money and have a great stay.

Similar to the experience of other reviewers, our ground floor room was strangely damp and musty. The towels we hung up never dried and our clothes felt wet to the touch. I can't explain why - the weather wasn't particularly humid and the air conditioner should have dried out the air since it was running. All I can think is that maybe the water table is high there. The parking lot was one big puddle. It's a shame, because otherwise it's a great deal - good location, decent room. I assume the second floor rooms would be better. Also worth noting that the Wi-Fi didn't work.

Practically no bedding if you see the pictures I'm holding the two blankets that they give you that are probably a quarter of an inch in thickness. The pool area Grill area and Lounge area were not so clean and up-to-date, The Umbrellas were on the floor so you could not use them there were no towels by the pool. The bathroom was the only plus about this place.

Just got home from our 3 night stay. We were lucky enough to reserve a second floor room with separate bedroom and kitchen. It was your typical beach room Rugs were dirty, and the couch has seen better days but the room was very cold thanks to the separate air units. Big plus! Pool was lovely and the staff was eager to please. TV in couch area didn t work..that wasn t fun. About 1/4 mile from beach. I got a great price from 3rd party so that helps. Had I paid reg price I might not have been so tolerant. But with the rate I got I would definitely stay here again.

It was nice. It seemed the place was not taken care of. The carpets were all stained and a bit dirty. Some of the sheets had holes in them. Room overall was good. The front fountain was abandoned. There was not enough water in the fountain to work properly also the waster was green and dirty. The personall was nice. Pool was good as well the hot tub. The grill was also great as well as the outside furniture. I think they need pay more attention to the place. Because the location is awesome.

We just got home from a 3 day stay and it was awesome. Check in confusion, google says 2, website says 3- I thought I'd have a giant issue but no. They welcomed us with open arms and even let me stay an hour past check out time. The rooms were clean, comes with everything you could need. Our mini fridge was on defrost and we didn't know it. They replaced our fridge in a half hour! Donna, she's simply amazing. Anything you need or want get Donna. She made it feel like home immediately. Not to mention her vibe is so amazing, you'd think we'd known her forever. The pool was clean, even towels are provided! It was quiet and everyone we met was so friendly. We will definitely be back!!

Initially, I was going to give 5 out of 5 stars for my review. I booked a night and then had to add a 2nd night. We had to switch rooms in the middle of our stay.... totally understandable seeing as our initial room was already booked and I booked at the last minute. We found this out mid day and rounded up our belongings for the switch. We went up to our new room and situated our belongings. I noticed that our refrigerator had white tape on the handle and looked a bit rusty but kinda shrugged it off.. We went out to meet friends for dinner and after our return,, discovered that we had a toilet issue... I assumed it was just a clog. Went to the front desk and asked for a plunger. The staff is very kind and helpful, btw. I came back to the room, unclogged the toilet and we went about our evening.. Every single time we went to the bathroom, the toilet had to be plunged to get the water to go down the drain and our refrigerator made a very loud noise all night long. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the little inconveniences were unexpected after such an amazing room on the 1st night of our trip. I intend to return for trips in the future, but will call the office to request a specific room
