RENTOR BE AWARE. Very disappointing. I booked a room in January for September which is 9 months away. A few weeks ago I had to cancel. There is now a hefty 100 dollar cancellation fee. I would not mind if we cancelled in summer months or if they could not rent the room after our cancellation but really to charge 100 dollars as flat out fee. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Me and my partner went to Ocean Club Hotel and our time spent there was fantastic. From the friendly staff to the ambiance it was money well spent. The staff makes you feel right at home especially the front desk agent Felicia. She was so patient and kind. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family.Food & drinks: Sea salt delicious!

I can t say enough good things about the Ocean Club of Cape May. After an unfortunate issue with reservation at another venue, our friends found ourselves looking for a place to stay. We called the Ocean Club and Sandy came to the rescue and welcomed us with a smile and a great attitude. Sandy showed us some rooms options. She did not have to make that time, but she did. We loved the rooms booked rooms for 4 days. The rooms were clean and lovely, and the views were fabulous. Every person from Sandy to the reception staff to the waiters and bartenders to the house men were helpful, professional, and friendly. We all had the best time, and this is now our favorite place in Cape May.Sandy went above and beyond, and we appreciated the welcoming hospitality of her and everyone at the Beach Club. The pool and restaurant were great and we loved the Tiki Bar (great drinks!). Thank you to Sandy (a keeper) and everyone at The Ocean Club for helping to make our summer vacation spectacular!!

From the phone call to making reservation, to checking out, and everything in-between, my wife and i couldn't have been more pleased with our stay a few days ago.Room was clean, staff was excellent, including the GM in restaurant, and location was ideal.

Great location, beachfront, great views, comfortable rooms! But, most importantly, impeccable customer service and hospitality! Every single employee goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Sandy, in particular, is an absolute gem of a manager and her professionalism and above-and-beyond attention to guests needs must trickle down to the whole staff!!Highly recommend this Cape May hotel.

Had a weekend trip planned in November 2022, due to a medical issue we couldn't make it, the staff was nice enough to move our reservation to opening weekend 2023. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The 2 person soaking tub was a nice amenity. All rooms have an ocean view which is beautiful. We got to watch a lightning storm over the ocean from our bed after dinner.

Shocked this place is categorized as a 4 star hotel with no room service, no robes in the room, and questionable service when we reported an issue with the AC. It wouldn t cool the room and continued to turn itself off randomly. The front desk manager said the issue was with the motion sensors and he would send the maintenance man up to bypass the sensors so the AC would stay on. When the maintenance man arrived, he didn t even ask about the problem, he tested the temperature of the air from the vent and turned to say that he air was cold. Yeah, cause that s not the issue. We explained that the AC would sporadically turn off when the room wasn t cool yet and the motion sensor was causing a problem. He quickly retorted those aren t motion sensors. Well tell your manager that. Can you bypass the sensor so the AC will actually cool the room so we can sleep? He replies, no, we can t bypass the system ugh. You guys need to get your story straight. Thankfully, after a few minutes he said the sensor was malfunctioning and that he fixed it and left. So weird. The bathroom was tiny and the room wasn t very clean (see pics of crusty stuff on the curtain near bed). We enjoyed the adjoining cabana area on the sun deck though, even if it needed some repair and cleaning too (see pic of crumbling chair). Upon check out, no one asked how our stay was so hopefully they read this and address some issues.

Great hotel, with excellent service. Starting in the lobby everybody was very welcoming. A lady named Eboni explained everything about hotel and nearby attractions. Also, great pool service. They kept it very clean. I think Sally was his name, made sure there is everything in place around the pool. We came with small kids, so it was important for us that this place was neat, clean and safe. Pool is heated, great for small kids that get cold quickly. There was live music in the afternoon, very pleasant to ear. Room clean, hotel was quiet. 10/10.Nearby activities: 10 min walk to little boutiques, ice cream places, Game Arcade and beautiful Square.Safety: Very safe area. A lot of people walking, jogging or biking.Walkability: We didn't touch our car for entire stay, close to everything. 10-15 min of slow walk to get you anywhere.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon & were welcomed happily by the staff. They checked us in pretty quickly, off to our room we went. We got the "poolside" cabana suite (Rm 107). Although we knew there was no access to the pool from this suite, upon entering the room & checking it out, we swung open our cabana curtains & to our surprise there is an entire party, 5 adults & 3 children literally one foot away from our space staring at us like deers in headlights as one of the adults pulls their child out of our cabana area. Immediately we felt uncomfortable. This is not what we signed up for. We went back out to the desk explained our concern and the desk assistant Melissa was courtesy and beyond helpful. She went out of her way to get different accommodations arranged with the manager. Both were exceptionally helpful. They arranged us in that suite for the evening and the remaining days would be on the 4th floor which had a wetbar and private balcony. We were very happy with the 2nd room. Not only were Melissa and the manager amazing but the entire staff was wonderful. Sammy and Akmed were very attentive & pleasant at the pool area. Drinks/food were very good from the restaurant/bar with great service. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Also, obviously smoking is not permitted in the hotel but note there is no smoking cigarettes/ecigarettes on the balconies (outdoors), by the pool or on the beach. Only "designated spots", as if it doesn't travel.... I do not smoke cigarettes but an ecig and this was beyond a pain in the @.... Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely go back.Rooms: Nice, clean, modern. *bring your own pillows.Nearby activities: There's a ton of stuff to do. Arcades, mini golf, shopping. Just walking through the town is satisfying the history and architecture is really something else. They really persevered the history well.Walkability: Everything is in walking distance but there is parking available should you not want to.Food & drinks: Every place we went was great. Really!!! No complaints... Sea salt, harrys, blue pig tavern, the ugly mug. Just to name a few.

Location is the big selling point on this. We had a King suite with an ocean view. The balcony is small but adequate and the view was amazing. We were on the fourth floor and I recommend at least this high for visibility. Staff was friendly and helpful especially the overnight guy...sorry don't remember his name. Down side is the room itself was eh. No microwave in a suite...bit of a letdown.Walkability: Lots of shops and food nearby.

I keep forgetting to take pictures! We stayed in an ocean facing room on the adult floor (6th). The view was breathtaking. The rooms a bedroom and living room. One can see most of the beach. The vantage point on the 6th floor gave us the perfect view because we were looking down on the beach. And were able to hear and send the waves at night . I was a little confused the phone in the room wasn't working.. The lobby had a doorway leading to the bar I do believe it's a bar restaurant and there is a formal restaurant . The staff were professional and friendly. I know we will stay there again. A 9 out 10 - Very nice hotel . Very comfortableSafety: Very safe and well litWalkability: Very walkable location their beach is nice and clean. The only setback is one can not walk along the side of hotel because there were hotels on both sides. You must walk through lobby or walk dawn to the cornerNoteworthy details: When you walk out the door to the left it leads to their bar/restaurant . They have a nice deck with swimming pool and lots of seating watch umbrellas and lounge chairs

The rooms were fine. I m sharing a room with a friend and we arrived at different times. They would not allow me to check in without her present. When I told them they should have told us that when she called- they told me she should have asked. I asked if she could call and add my name now- they told me no and that she had to do that in advance. I now can t shower and am running late for the dinner I m in town for. Absolute nonsense.

Penthouse just means top floor don t let yourself believe it might be fancy. There was only one very narrow and aged elevator. We had to wait for two separate families to descend from our floor before we were able to fit. I saw another reviewer mention how uncomfortable the beds were and that they woke up with neck pains, and honestly none of the four of us slept very well either we kept waking up to fidget with our pillows and adjust our bodies. The private beach had chairs and a single umbrella set up for you but it was so incredibly packed in that you can t enjoy the sounds of the ocean over all of the conversations around you. If you experience sensory overload this is your warning it s incredibly loud and overlapping and stressful. We were charged $720 (plus $100 in taxes for Jersey) so we assumed it might be very nice, for a very narrow room with only two chairs to sit in and when someone sat in a chair you could not walk around them so you ask them to stand or clamber over the bed. We couldn t play the card game we brought because there was no table or open space to gather. It was very difficult to maneuver around the room because of the narrow walk space so if you have any accessibility problems or a bigger body I advise you to reconsider. Room did not come with a fridge for that price in case you thought to bring creamer for your keurig, and bathroom was even smaller. What s interesting is there wasn t even a curtain rod to hang your bathing suits or beach towels over, working space was very limited for the price. I don t advise you hanging things over the balcony either due to the ocean breeze so it ended up in a wet pile on the floor. We only had maybe 3 outlets in the entire room, in a lamp we couldn t charge unless the light was on, a floor lamp, and I believe one in the bathroom. Distance to the beach was great. Staff working at the hotel were very kind and welcoming. The room itself was a huge detractor from the experience.

Ocean club is centrally located in Cape May. The pool area is beautiful and resort like. They have a full service tiki bar and live entertainment during the day. The pool is clean and the chairs are extremely comfortable. Sammy does an excellent job keeping the pool area in tip top shape and his customer service skills are impeccable. We reserved two connecting rooms, one with two doubles and the other with a king. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are clean and feature a keurig and mini fridge. The rooms are spacious, the views of the pool and beach are great to wake up to and to enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony. We are thoroughly impressed by this hotel for many reasons listed above, but especially for their customer service. We want to thank Sammy for making our trip extra great.

We love Cape May, and the last time we were there, we saw Ocean Club Cape May and knew we wanted to stay there on our next visit. It did not disappoint! Our room was very much a standard hotel room - very comfortable and exactly the space we needed (and the VIEW! We loved loved loved the ocean view). What we loved about this hotel, though, were the people. This trip was a big deal for us because it was our first trip away from home with our baby. I want to give a shout-out to Torey, who not only eased my mind when I called in advance about a crib setup for our daughter, but talked me through options once we arrived about where I could store her bottles most safely (the mini fridge in the room turned out to work great, but he was so considerate and understanding of what we needed to make sure our baby girl had a great vacation, too). Also, do yourself a favor and order some of the chocolate cake from the hotel restaurant. It was such a delicious treat after a long day of exploring the area.Ocean Club is definitely worth a stay! Thanks, Ocean Club team, for a great experience!

I didn't think I would like this place but it was quiet and the breakfast downstairs was quite good. I was there just before Memorial day weekend so it was still not too crowded. The service at checkin and the restaurant were really friendly.

Exceeded expectations. Incredible staff works diligently to cater to your family. Exceptionally clean and updated. Private beach with chair/towel service. Honestly, simply perfect. Pool feels like you re at a Caribbean resort. Private ample parking. Pillows could be better but that s if I m searching for a complaint. Will definitely be back again and again. Highly recommend!!!

Staff and accomodations are fine, but buyer beware, the ammentities are not what they seem. Those evening pictures showing the evening lit pool are only decorative, since you cannot enjoy an evening swim. The pool hours end at 7pm. We were told that this is so they can chlorinate the pool, which is their standard year long practice. For the price you are paying, the pool access should be until 11pm at the least, which is how all the resorts we've ever stayed at do it. Maybe, they should schedule such maintenance when kids go to sleep to avoid disappointment.

Stayed in cape may with my boyfriend in this hotel for 2 nights. Amazing experience.. everything was clean, and the view we had from our room on the 3rd floor was amazing (the beach view). Everything about it was great. The pool, tiki bar, lobby, restaurant, etc. The walk to the main strip and town was 15 minutes, it was very enjoyable to catch in the beautiful scenery of the area especially on a nice, warm day! Would recommended this hotel to anyone. Guest service people were also very nice and helpful.

Absolutely Amazing!! We had a very bad experience at the hotel we were actually booked at. After walking out of that hotel we called the ocean to see if they had last minute rooms available. We were told to come over. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with extremely friendly staff members. We explained what happened at the other hotel and asked if we could see a room before booking, they were more then happy and immediately gave us a tour of the whole hotel and available rooms. The staff also gave us free breakfast vouchers to make up for the trouble we had at the previous hotel...talk about great customer service!! We were able to get motaru discount and they have our daughter a sand bucket and shovel. They recommended dinner places and checked in on us each time they saw us. The restaurant was delicious!! We have already recommended this hotel to others and when we return to cape may we will be staying again. We were blown away by the efforts of the staff!! Thanks for a great experience!

Pros: clean, beautiful views, nice pool, good drinks and live music. Good food and friendly staff.Cons: outdated rooms, no in room fridge (we had a penthouse suite, so expected). Literally the slowest smallest elevator in any hotel I've stayed at. I wouldn't run back to stay here. The most uncomfortable pillows. My husband and I both woke up with neck pain and he also had backpain. Been up since 530am because it was too uncomfortable to even lay and watch TV. Won't be returning.

The view for the win We arrived at the OC Hotel on a rainy and fog ensconced night. The spacious parking lot and pre-season visit gave us a spot close to the rear entrance. Friendly staff checked us in with smooth efficiency. Truthfully, we were the only ones to show up at 8:30 at night, but it was easy to see they knew what they were doing. A quick trip up the elevator placed us only steps away from our center penthouse room. It was my partner s birthday, so we splurged a bit.Upon entering the sitting area of the room, the smell of stale smoke took us by surprise. For the area, this was a luxury hotel with a luxurious price tag. We were early in the season and the room may not have had guests for a while, but we were concerned enough to think about asking for another room. Once we opened the balcony door and let in the sea air, the scent dissipated to the point we didn t think about it. Every concern vanished as the sound of the ocean rolled through the room. The dense fog made the beach barely viewable. But knowing the beach and the ocean were just a few steps across the quiet street was why we were there. The next morning, if we were at home, it would have been rainy and dreary. The fog hadn t lifted a smidge, but we ventured out anyway. Could we have stayed in the room and been comfortable all day? Sure. The TV was large and could easily entertain us. I could even take an emergency work call and deal with it remotely over the fast-enough Wi-Fi. The king-sized bed was plush and, honestly, the pillows too much so. We prefer firmer pillows. Stacking them just didn t do the job well. After our adventures of the day, we had no trouble sleeping. We did not try the restaurant as we had made reservations at a special place for the birthday dinner. But the bar and seating looked nice and the staff helpful with directions and getting my partner s morning tea after her run along the beach. The location of the OC hotel is near perfect. From the balcony, there is nothing to block your view of the ocean. (Morning two gave us a much better view to wake up to.) The crowds and hustle of Cap May are a few blocks down. When the hotel is full during the season, the pool, tiki bar, and lounging area are likely to be noisy, but we had no issues. Would we stay here during the busy season? Probably not. We like it quiet when we re trying to sleep. I have spent enough time in Cape May to know the party at the OC Hotel keeps going pretty late. It s fun until I want to sleep. This can t be a review without some complaint, and ours were relatively minor. The Hotel has been around for a while, and while the dcor still holds a modern appeal, they should replace the seating area furniture. It showed its age and likely housed the smoke we smelled when we arrived at the room. The balcony, view, and sound of the ocean made the price worthwhile, but without it, I would have been disappointed. Some have complained about the bathroom size. We are fairly average sized people and didn t have any issues. The small fridge came in handy and the extra space in the sitting room made it easy for us to get ready for our time away from the room. That's why we took this trip in the first place.

Amazing comfort, service, food, views, it s resort stay in the middle of American History. You get the best of both world! Wake up in the morning, right out of bed, open your big sliding door and right away the ocean is so close you hear the waves and see the ocean directly in front of you. Have your gourmet breakfast seaside. Get your complimentary towel and sit by the pool, order a drink in the pool or your lunch by the pool, at the TIKI BAR or even ON THE BEACH at their complimentary chairs and umbrellas the beds are soo clean and comfy. The entire room feels like your the first one to stay there. If there is anything wrong they try to do their best to accommodate. I have met so many other friendly guests during my stay their and we all agree. It is so worth it. Love going down there just for the Ocean Club Hotel!

A beautiful hotel across the street from the world famous Cape May, NJ beach. A fabulous roof top pool and bar with cool live entertainment. Super associates ready to help make your visit a memorable one. Guest parking in the rear of the hotel. There's wheelchair accessible parking and a ramp to enter. Enjoy!

Aside from Orbitz charging slightly more for the room $949/night (insane) it was an overall pleasant weekend. The food is way overpriced $18 for wings but I think that s just inflation in a post Covid world. Crazy costly but fun. I probably would not stay here again because while it was fun the value wasn t really there other than the proximity to the beach which you can pretty much find at any of the many beach front hotels. The rooms aren t really anything special but they have a usable balcony that you can sip your drink on. People drink on the patio and in the mornings it looks like a frat house until the hotel employees clean up all the Solo cups and bottles of booze. The vibe was fun. The actual value was average. I didn t eat at the restaurant as there are a bunch of restaurants around. The kids had fun. Sometimes paying more will give you a different crowd that s more tolerable to be around than other places. That might be the case with this hotel on the area as well as compared to other NJ beach towns. It s a post Covid world. People will charge for anything and it s up to the customer if they are willing to pay. There are a ton of equally good hotels on the strip so do your research. Oh -regarding the drinks - one of the bartenders failed to put alcohol in my pina-colada so we sent it back for more alcohol without a problem. Speak up in this town especially in the service industry.
