Quality service at a good price. This garage has given me quality service at a good price everytime i use it. It's good to know they are looking out for me. They have quickly diagnosed and fixed a problem with my car's drive shaft, done a flawless break job, and squeezed me in for a routine oil change. Keep it up guys!

AAMCO is like family! They always look out for me. They take good care of my car and even noticed the tires needed air and filled them. They didn t tell me but I noticed after and wanted to cry. It was a considerate act of kindness. They are always honest and even informed me on a recall for my car. Feeling very grateful for finding them. Thank you to all the workers at AAMCO!

Very friendly, fast and attentive service. I called when I was 5 minutes away with 2 cars that needed oil changes. I m still here hanging out, eating my Dunkin in the reception area, answering phone calls on my day off. I ve only been here maybe 30 mins- so I ll be out within the hour. Hard to find this kind of service these days. Highly recommend! Did I mention they have REASONABLE PRICES??? SO reasonable that I was able to splurge and buy coffee today! Ugh, thanks Biden. They made me pay about 1200 to fix something on my car that wasn't even suppose to be fixed. I picked the car up and it broke down on me on the 280 highway. I get it back and now they're saying it's a transmission problem. I use my car as my source of income so I've been out of work since then. Now they're saying 3900 and will cover the labor. I fell as though they should use my entire 1200 that I gave them already and whatever money I have to fix the vehicle. People don't have thousands of dollars to spare especially after the holidays without a car.

I have got a new used car, and the seller of the car mentioned that it has white smoke coming from the exhaust and possible oxygen sensor or turbo, I have taken the car to the dealer service and they had run some tests and charged me 500 on top of that the bill quote fix is over 20000 , twenty thousand dollars I said thanks to the dealer and got the car to AAMCO , the bill is less than 3k including new brakes , rotors and yes, for sure car is running great, no white smoke. Good job, AAMCO west caldwell, thank you very much .

STAY AWAY! Bad Behavior. They jumped a toll booth driving my car an hour away, no cares about me finding out. They held car for months with no phone calls. They left my gas tank bone dry, air conditioning vents pointed to the right all of them the complaint department and them work together with extremely bad behavior. They have many fake reviews-read them carefully. Normal customers do not talk like that! Bad Behavior and no regrets! WARNED!

Mike was warm and friendly, when I called at lunchtime I told him I was informed I needed front brakes. He said bring the car right down and there is a good chance I can have the car done today. A man of his word installed pads and rotors and the job was done before they closed. He also test drove the car and let me know to listen for a bearing which might be on it's way out, but wasn't necessary to replace yet. Just informed me, turn the radio down occasionally and listen. So the next song I don't like that is what I will do. Glad to see the garage open again after Midas left there years ago, been a local in town for over 20 years so I'm happy we have a transmission shop plus more in that space again.

While two other mechanics helped to some extent over the past 3 weeks... The real problem with my car after accidentally knocking it into reverse while going downhill (and tires burned rubber) was with the stabilizer links, causing all kinds of noises and distress while driving and going over potholes after said incident.... not the lower control arms which would have required taking the entire front end apart. Fortunately, I didn't do that. Thanks Aamco. You guys are great!

So my vehicle s transmission was in dire need ofrIn March 2022, I took my 2014 jeep grand Cherokee to the service center. From the moment I walked in the location manager Mike treated me with respect, patience, and professionalism. It took several months for me to bring my car in in for the necessary repairs.But Fast forward to January 2023 My vehicle was back on the road and Mike honored all price quotes possible that were stated to me in March 2022. Then February 2023, the struts of my rear suspension gave out, and I returned here to have it fixed. In six hours the repairs were completed. The price was reasonable, and again the professionalism, respect, friendliness were there too.The staff at this location are phenomenal. The mechanic that worked on my vehicle addressed me personally to explain the conditions he encountered with my vehicle while fixing it. He also explained other issues he discovered. As of yesterday they have a new permanent customer. I plan to have other needed repairs to my jeep completed at this location. In addition, I plan to have the necessary repairs completed by the staff on my wife s vehicle too.Thank you to the staff at West Caldwell you deserve the 5 stars. Was able to get an appointment to replace an O2 sensor on my Jeep very quickly. Brought it in and was done the same day, so availability and quickness was very convenient here. Everything seems to be in order since they installed the new sensor, but only time will tell. My only complaint is how much it was to replace one oxygen sensor for 1 hour of labor time. $325 seems like a lot for that job and have replaced a previous sensor elsewhere for much less. But unfortunately that is the world we live in where parts and labor is very expensive and varies where you go. I rate a 3.5 overall for AAMCO in West Caldwell.Service: Transmission

Mike was very transparent with me the whole time. He maintained professionalism by keeping in communication with me. He told me it would be about two weeks before he would receive a new transmission for my ford explorer 2016 and I appreciate the fact that he stayed in contact with me regards to the status of the arrival of my transmission. His mechanics are great and they were very quick . Once the transmission arrived, it only took them 2 days to complete the job and I'm very happy with their service. Had daughter's 2011 Hyundai Sonata towed to AAMCO b/c another shop told us the car breakdown was a transmission problem. Called AAMCO and dealt with Mike who said he'd take a look. Called me to advise it was not the trans, but the engine and it was shot. He called me back after researching the car and found a recall for Hyundai engines. Even though the car VIN showed no open recall, and that the engine issue did not apply to the car, Mike gave me the recall code and description, encouraging me to call Hyundai directly. What do you know, even though the VIN search on Hyundai's sit showed the car was not covered under the recall, IT WAS! Mike is an honest and upstanding guy. He could have let it go that no recall appeared for this 12 year old car, he could have tried to sell us on a rebuilt engine, but no, instead he did the honest thing and saved us THOUSANDS! I will definitely use him in the future.

I had an oil leak that no other mechanic wanted to touch. They diagnosed the problem, showed me the underside of the car, which is rare, and they fixed it perfectly. The only issue I had was refilling the engine with synthetic oil when my car only uses conventional oil. I brought it back the next day and they corrected the problem immediately. My car has been drip free so far and I feel confident with their service. Professional and very reasonable. My husband tested them out first since the place we used to patronize closed. We've been to two other shops in town, however he decided AAMCO was the way to go.My car was fixed in a timely fashion. They communicated with me about what needed to be done and pricing. Lastly they were honest!!! I highly recommend!

I broke down four hours away from home on the highway on the start of the weekend and spoke to a gentleman at another AAMCO who was extremely helpful and recommended me to this location as well as took my info and sent it over for them. The next morning I got a call from them literally the second they opened and they explained to me they were going to work on my car ASAP and they only had until 2pm(open 9-2 on Saturday) to get this done but they would try their absolute hardest knowing I needed my car to get home. They contacted me a couple hours later and told me what the issue was and that the parts were already on order and that they would reach out as soon as possible. 2pm hit and I got a call telling me my car was done and ready to go. they went above and beyond on every step and got my gf and I home to our dog. They are honestly some of the best. They diagnosed my car and gave it a thorough look through. Even after they couldn t find anything wrong with my transmission, they suggested that I could change the filter and fluid but that it wasn t necessary. They didn t push any unnecessary work and they didn t try to take advantage of my and try to sell me on stuff I didn t need. In the future I will be definitely going to them for any future problems. Stay away from this AAMCO, at least for transmission repairs, which is ironic because that is their prime business. The automatic transmission on my '06 Ford Escape broke down, so I had to be towed to the shop. I had to help the manager locate the transmission fluid stick under the hood. Nice guy, but I should have realized then that this transmission shop's expertise was questionable. He tried a couple of things to see if the transmission's function could be restored, but nothing worked. So, I was told that the trans needed to be replaced. He searched for a low-mileage used trans for about a week, and one was located half across the country. When it came in, they installed it. When I picked it up, I was told that it had been thoroughly road tested, and it was ready to go. I drove the car less than a mile before it started slipping, so I returned to the shop. I was told to give it a week, because the computer needed to reset the shift points; that was baloney. I returned after a week with the same slipping. I was told to give it another 200 miles. It slipped the whole time. When I brought it back, the manager took it for a drive, and he had to be towed back to his shop because the replacement trans broke down. They now wanted me to pay for another used trans because they couldn't fix the problem. I told them NO. They offered me a 20% discount. I told them NO. Since they wouldn't replace the defective used trans, I had the car towed to a well recommended car repair shop that "rebuilt" the transmission in-house and charged less than what I had paid AAMCO for the "so-called" used, low-mileage trans. My Escape has been switching gears perfectly ever since.Service: Transmission

The transmission of our 2010 Toyota 4Runner stopped working, and the experts at AAMCO W Caldwell diagnosed and repaired it perfectly. The problem was a corroded range sensor. The road salt corroded the part over the 13 years that we ve owned the truck. The entire crew there was very nice to work with. They even showed us the broken part, and explained the repairs. I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but... I had a new clutch installed in my car. Staff was friendly and courteous. The new clutch works great BUT.. They re-installed my windshield wiper arms BACKWARDS. I didn't realize this until I was driving in the rain and my windshield wipers wouldn't work correctly. They also didn't tighten the battery terminals which was giving me intermittent problems starting my car and odd electrical issues while driving. They also left greasy fingerprints all over my driver side door interior. I was considering using them for other car repairs but who knows what other nuts and bolts were left un-tightened and for that I will not return or recommend. Mistakes happen but this was a bit much.Service: Transmission

I had a transmission problem for a very old car with 137k miles on it. I asked them to look at it but I would not repair it if it was more costly than the value of the car. They listened. They tried one simple repair that didn't work but investigated the issue and told me that Ford had a warranty for this. I appreciated his effort and his honesty.Service: Engine repair
