I ve been bringing all of my vehicles (mine/family/friends) to Vinnie & his staff for years, they are the BEST! They truly care about their customers & do amazing work. They will give you honest information, excellent pricing and really work with you like you matter. They work with partner shops as needed for various jobs etc. Always my first stop. Highly recommend!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I came to the shop to swap the winter tires with summer, on the same set of wheels. While the guys were polite and invited me to take look at my car from underneath, they scratched 2 of the wheels and cracked a plastic panel by one of the lift points. The car is 4 months old... This would cost me over a thousand to fix. I would not recommend this place if you have a new vehicle and/or you care about the looks.

Unfortunately, I tell you that I dealt with them and it was the worst experience ever from all directions. I tried to find anything good as a result of my dealings with them, but it was useless. The prices are very expensive. The service is very bad. It takes a very long time compared to the actual repair time. The behavior of the employees is tactless and not professional at all. , and exploiters, in addition to all this, you may come to them with a problem and leave them with another problem, or at least the basic problem will not be fixed. If you go to change a screw, you may sit with them for at least an hour, and the employee tells you that this hour is a very short time. You should wait more, I never advise Dealing with them, run run run and always remember that there are other shops everywhere

Worked on my hummer a few times. Good service. Quick. They get a lot of business so don't be surprised if you have to wait until the next day for service. They try very hard to have a same day turn around. A good 95% of the time they succeed. Vinny and staff is very knowledgeable of numerous vehicles. Thanks for installing my bull bar!

I needed the engine replaced on my Subaru, and I didn't want to pay big shop or dealer prices to do that for a 15 year old car. Vinnie and his team installed a great used engine with an even better warranty for such an important part. They saved me hassle down the line by installing some other parts during this visit that would have cost more if the engine wasn't out, and they got me back on the road quickly for such a big job. On top of that, they were very patient and helpful with my uncommon request to get the old engine back. I've got some more repairs that will be needed later, and I look forward to getting them done here.Service: Engine repair

I doubt I ll be going back, which is a shame because they re nice guys. When I first started bringing my vehicles there, they did good work at reasonable prices. But, a lot of bad experiences over the past few years have soured me on Sea Breeze Automotive. Here are just some of them: long wait times for repairs, extra repairs for extra $$$ without calling me first, forgetting to order a part I needed and then laughing about it when I went by to check in, accidentally overcharging my credit card by a colossal amount (which then took days to reverse), and even being baffled by a technical issue with my evaporative fuel-fill system which I had to research and tell them how to solve. They re not great about returning phone calls either. And I ve never gone to pick up a vehicle and found my paperwork done I always end up standing there for 15 or 20 minutes while they tally things up and generate a bill. Not long ago, my son-in-law took his car there and they botched his repair and then charged him for a tow after the failed repair caused a highway breakdown. Most recently, I dropped off my car on a Friday morning and 5 days went by without so much as a phone call. When I stopped in on the sixth day, they still hadn t even finished looking it over. Then they charged me nearly $1600 for a set of repairs that shouldn t have cost more than $1000-1200 (rear brakes, a tire, a tune-up, 2 belts & filters, an oil change, and a state inspection). When I picked up the car, they d torn a chunk out of my steering wheel cover and didn t even bother to clean up the dust/residue of the old inspection sticker from off the dashboard.I really think they re just too busy for their own good and can t take the time to focus on the details that make for good customer service. Unless they seriously re-evaluate how they conduct business, you d do well to avoid this place.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance

After being recommended to me by a friend, I took my daughters car over for a transimission filter/fluid change and was very happy with the service and cost.I have a van that had been to 3 different mechanics all diagnosing it as a head problem and recommending engine replacement.I called this shop, to get a quote on engine replacement for the van. I spoke with Bill who was very professional. I explained to him what was going on with the van and what the previous mechanics told me.He quickly provide a quote for me on a replacement engine. I had decided to go with them for the engine and spoke to Bill again about this. He asked me if I minded if they took another look at the van before he ordered the engine. I told him I was fine with that but I don't want to go down the diagnostic rabbit hole again, as I was already sitting in the den.I dropped the car off, then later that day he called me to say he was pretty sure they figured out what was going on with my van. He asked that I come pick up the van and drive it for a few days and see if the problem re-occurs.After some tentative test drives that evening and the next day. I decided to take it on a road trip. The van ran perfect.Bill and his team saved me thousands of dollars on and engine replacement. He could have easily just replaced the engine, charged me and moved on to the next customer.I am so impressed with the team at this place, I took my daughters Kia over for an oil change and have them look at the steering. They quickly diagnosed that issue and was able to resolve it the same day.If you are in need of complex repair/diagnostics or just an oil change, I would highly recommend you give them a try.Joe B.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

After calling a million places (who wouldn t touch my car because it is a hybrid) I found Vinny s shop and I am seriously never going anywhere else. It always makes me feel so anxious being a woman and having to go get my car checked, especially after getting scammed and made feel stupid by so many mechanics so I was already nervous However, Vinny was so nice and polite and actually took the time to explain what was going on with my car, and the price was more than fair. Now my car is fixed and I am happy. I 100% recommend.

I've been here about 3 separate times to get my tire fixed . Have always been greeted by friendly staff, wait time is short, and they work fast. This place is the only place nearby where you can get air in your tires for free.

I went to Sea Breeze to purchase 4 new tires for my Ram 1500 from the recommendation of my cousin. I have never seen a car repair business that busy. The phone and walk in traffic never ended yet Vinny was a total pro. Courteous to everyone and with all of the traffic in and out his crew still manages to get you out and I saved about 50 bucks per tire . That's my go to place from now on.

I went in for a brake pad and rotor replacement yesterday and they were able to get it done in a very timely manner which I appreciated because I had to get to work. However, they charged me over $800 for front and rear brake pads and rotors with cost of labor. This price is absolutely outrageous for a simple job with parts that are inexpensive. I got ripped off in hindsight as I know now that something this simple should AT MOST cost around $500. I do not recommend going to this place and I will not be using their services again. I wish I had gone to Pepboys or somewhere generic where their prices are fair to the services providedService: Auto brake repair

Update: It's June 2022 now, and I have been driving my car with the replacement engine I've 8 months now, with now 20k new miles, car is working flawlessly, now back to my original review.I was looking for a shop for a big job, to replace both my engine and trans on my Nissan. Here was a business certified for Jasper rebuilt engines, in a high volume area with multiple mechanics. When I talked with Vinny he had no hesitation on the project. When I got it back I still had a bearing issue to address, Vinny was out that day but they verified the bad bearing and got the car in and out the same day to replace the wheel bearing. I've been driving the car for over a month now putting on real mileage and have an absolutely perfect engine and trans. These guys do a great job (the whole team) I don't know what higher praise there is. I have everything I was hoping to get out of the job. Both the trans and the bearing issues were pre-existing, I noticed both a coasting noise and an engaged transmission noise. My local mechanic identified the trans issue. So everything got done , and everything is good.

Amazing service! I called SAME DAY for a new battery. Vinny was extremely respectful and even with a boot on his foot he had me in and out in less than 10 minutes! As soon as I showed up he was ready to go. The prices were very competitive. They hardly charged at all for the installation of the battery. Will definitely go again. Friendly staff that respects social distancing and has a clean environment is a reassuring thing during these times.

Vinny was wonderful! My car was hit from behind. Vinny let me bring it by at my convenience, gave me a quick and very reasonable estimate. Drop off and pick up was immediate. Body work was perfect. Would never go anywhere else. P.S. His employees were also pleasant and accommodating

Very nice guys. Not like other mechanic shops where it can be very intimidating to speak to them (especially if you re a woman or are queer or don t know what you re doing lol). Owner is super chill, friendly and most importantly GETS THE JOB DONE. At no point did I feel condescended to or cheated. They work with you, they give you the reality and transparency of the situation- which is rare when it comes to mechanics a lot of the time. And once again, THEY GET IT DONE. Can t ask for more or less when it comes to fixing up a car. Thank you Seabreeze! Keep up the good work

I recently brought my boyfriend s car (a Kia Soul) here for servicing when the check engine light came on. Many of my neighbors and friends have come here to their cars fixed for years and I know why. Bill was courteous and friendly and said the car would be ready in a day or so. In turned out there were a few issues with the car that needed to be fixed, they explained what was needed and we gave them the go ahead to do the work. When we picked up the car, we noticed the steering was out of alignment. We asked for them to change the oil since the car needed to stay a few more hours so they could fix that. When we came back to get the car, they didn t charge for the oil change. It was a nice gesture that was really appreciated. If you re looking for an honest mechanic with fair prices in the Bloomfield area, Seabreeze is great.

Was there a week ago on Tuesday March 23rd, 2021. Came in after going to several places in the area to get a simple tire plug and none of those places would do it or had me wait many hours. There is nothing wrong with plugging a tire unless the puncture is in the sidewall, and it's quick! The wheel was in the back seat of my car with a 1.5 inch nail in the tread. No guessing where the hole is or anything like that. I asked if they could plug a tire and with no hesitation the guy said sure bring it in. I took it out of the back seat, rolled it in and I was out of there in 5 minutes! Quick, reliable and professional service. No pressure loss after a week of driving every day! Will go there in the future if I need a tire fixed!

They do really good work and they're quick, despite all the business they get. They know about all different kinds of vehicles and they're never in over their heads. The best part is that they're just good, hard-working people. They won't rip you off and you'll feel a lot better giving them your money than you would for a lot of other mechanics. I know people who come from hours away to have their cars worked on by them, so I'm really fortunate to have them be only a few minutes away from where I live.

I have been using Seabreeze automotive for many years now and I cannot say enough good stuff about them. There wouldn't be room on the page for me to share every story I have but I'll share a few in the hopes- of showing at least some gratitude to this shop & the great team of mechanics (Ken, John, and especially the manager Vinny) for making things happen! These guys, their manager, and the owner- are not only honest and fair men, but they're some of the most fantastic mechanics in the tristate area. Don't be surprised or complain if there is a wait to get your vehicle when so many folks count on them for good, HONEST and reliable service for their cars. I cannot say enough good things about Seabreeze so I'll start with a couple of my own experiencesStory #1: A few years back, I was in a bad 3 car pile up. My compact car was crushed in the middle. Two body shops refused to even look at my car, nonetheless touch it. Well, the team at seabreeze decided they could, in fact help me as long as they let me know the risks of making an attempt to fix it with the assessed damage, and the potentials of any hidden/unseen internal damage (what could act up down the line) and they left it entirely up to me. Vinny let me know the round-about cost (low estimate to high estimate), and with all of the information I had, I chose to try and save it. They were able to take my crushed up, not-running, car and turn it into a mechanically sound one that ran well and looked practically new (Yes, while they are mechanics they can handle your body work if you choose, as well)! The first time I got my silvery-blue car back & the new parts re-painted, I did notice the side panel, bumper, and driver door was not blue enough to match the rest. Knowing how much I had spent to fix the car, Vinny worked to make it right until I was completely happy with the color- match. Once re-done, he drove it over to me so I could make sure it was good, and it looked PERFECT!Story #2: Last winter, I got a bad flat leading onto the parkway and being a petite woman without any winter gloves on that day... I wasn't sure I could put the donut onto my car correctly. I called Seabreeze and the manager Vinny sent one of his guys to meet me where I was on the side of the road within 10 minutes to help me remove my flat. The guy who arrived did not charge me a dime extra for this service and even plumped up the donut with some air so I could drive to work safely. The mechanic who met me wouldn't even accept my tip (I hid it in his truck) & I was able to get to a client's house on time because of the guys being so helpful and efficient! I had a new tire ready for my wheel by the end of the day (on sale too)! This very same winter, something I had replaced came loose under my hood while I was driving, causing a rattling vibration when in moving. I parked in a neighbor's driveway and called Vinny who sent his guy over with tools and he tightened the part right up. I was on my way safely in no time!Story # 3: Last wk, I took my foster dog to the vet and as I came out of the appointment, my car wouldn't start! Jumping it did no good. I called Vinny at Seabreeze auto and asked if they offered towing. He said, "not really" but he'd see what they could do to get me going. Once again, Vinny kindly sent a guy out to take a look. Unfortunately, it had to be towed - and they got me towed in. Of course by the end of the day, Vinny figured out the main problem for me was an oil leak and informed me that I had no oil in my car at all when he took a look & I was 8 months since my last oil change service! So embarrassing. As you can see...the guys at Seabreeze go above and beyond duty to help. They are like family to me. I have complete faith & trust in the guys here at Seabreeze Auto- Bloomfield NJ to never steer me wrong. I send all of my family, housemates and friends here and plan to take every car I will ever own to Seabreeze for whatever service needed. I am proud to have the guys here in my town as they are actual life savers!

TERRIBLE SERVICE. I brought my car in for a tire plug a few years ago. I waited for almost 45 min. I figured they were busy and I was a walk in but when I went into the office to check , they laughed and said they forgot about me. I was annoyed but forgiving. Fast forward to today I called ahead having learned from my previous experience and was told to bring my car in. I made my presence known and proceeded to wait for 30 min. This time I didn t double check, I left. And I will never go back.* There was no one in the office. Two people showed up after me.

It sucks to have to be a repeat customer at an auto shop, but I'd always rather be one here. They've helped with body, brakes, lights, even more! They're honest and upfront, worth every dollar.

Very rude workers in there. Never had a worse experience. No respect. No common courtesy. No communication. Just ignores a potential customer for 30 minutes. I will never try to get my car in there again and strongly recommend that their boss give the 3 or 4 workers that came in Between 7:40am and 8:10, Saturday, Jan.16th, some common courtesy and work ethic training..
