The crew at Ajar always takes great care of me when I bring my car in. They are honest & hardworking and it shows in the incredible work they do. While the space is tight, I would recommend calling ahead if possible to see if they have space to service your needs.

I got into an accident that messed up the front end of my car pretty good, combined with body damage from the car's previous life, paint work issues, and other little details I took my car to Ajar, spoke with Jimmy, and his crew. We developed an action plan for parts, and work to be done, got a valuation of the work, and off we went. Once I picked up the car a few weeks later, it was absolutely awesome. They made it look better than some of the newer ones models of the same car (At least in my opinion). Not only was I impressed with quality of work, but the cost of work was excellent, as well as turnaround time. The professionalism with the guys in the shop, when there were questions about deviations from the plan, or issues that the car was giving them that I may have had expertise with, there was never an issue of communication, or loss of vision when it came to the project. What I wanted done, is what they saw, and did.Some of the few people I trust with my car, and I'm pretty protective of it. I'd like to thank everyone at the shop for an excellent job.

This man Steve and his staff were super kind to me and my mom. Saved me money when I overpaid him and got my car fixed and looking spotless with a car wash and parts replacement definitely coming back

This place is the BEST. Jim and Steve and the crew are awesome. They are very knowledgeable and experienced. They do "A" quality work. I will suggest this shop to a anyone who asks. It's refreshing to deal with a business that exhibits integrity, honesty and Craftsmanship.

Came here to after a minor fender bender, had to cone back several times because the issue wasn't fixed.About a month later I went to to get an oil change at a lube place and the technician told me in was missing the plastic cover under my vehicle.Contacted Ajar and asked about it since they were the last place to touch my car. Not even a courtesy call back.Subpar service and missing pieces off my vehicle. Not a place I'd go back to.

Recommended by Glen Ridge Auto. These guys are excellent. I just had some minor dents and stuff to fix up. Everything was done on time and looks great. They were very cooperative with my insurance too. Look beyond the scruffiness of the shop-these guys are excellent!

Extremely nice people. Our car got damaged at the bottom, pulled into their garage, and they fixed it within 10 minutes. They were actually going to close down, but were nice enough to help us out and allow us to continue on our ride safely. Thanks!

Staff treats you like family without hammering you on additional costs. Trustworthy and honest, their staff and owner Jimmy will explain all detail of the work that needs to be accomplished. Will recommend over any body shop in Essex County - esp with my driving record

Unfortunately I had scratched the side of my car and ended up with deep scratches. I shopped around for prices , many places with zero customer service skills , unfriendly, expensive and just plane rude . I gave Ajar auto body shop a chance and immediately was attended . They have Great customer service and finished in two days as they had mentioned . The job was perfectly done and at half the price of the other auto body shops in the area . I highly recommend Ajar auto body shop!

Went to ajar auto bodyhad a great experiencewent there with a broken passenger side mirrorthey within an hour had it fixed and even painted the drivers side for me and didnt break my pocketgreat guys i highly recommend them the best around

DO NOT GO HERE, DO NOT GO HERE! THIS IS A RECENT REVIEWI took my car which a 2014 Mercedes Benz c250 in late February, for simple Front and Back Bumper work and also to correct the alignment of my trunk door. My car was submitted for service to the Shop just after Feb 25. The work needed to be done on my car was a Replacement of the Front Bumber, replacement front Marker Light, the Back Bumper required a reconnect to the chasis as it was detached from the Drivers Side and a repaint of the bumper and a straightening of the Trunk Door. I walked through the entire job with the owner's son Steve. He was perfectly aware of what needed to be done with reference to the work. I was told the work would take about 4 days, well that was not even close to the Truth as it took 11 Days. Needless to say it didn't bother me, so long as the job was done correctly. I picked up my car at the end of the first week of March, drove off and immediately realized that the Passenger Door Speaker was cracking and had very bad static. Mind you, my sound system has worked Perfectly since the purchase date of my vehicle back in Jan of 2018 and outside of regular Maintenance to the engine regarding Oil, filter changes, etc, the vehicle never went anywhere for service. without writing an Exhaustingly long story, I picked up the car and the passenger door and the back speaker were blown out, I brought it back to them and they blamed the Detail shop and said they would replace the speakers. That never happened. Mind you, I never authorized Detail work on my car, they were supposed to clean it up at the shop. Secondly, 3 days later or so when it Rained, all the speakers started crackin and sparking smoke in the car. I called and left a message as it was a Saturday, when this occurred the son called me back and said he would get his Radio guy to take a look at it. To sum this up, I ended up taking my car to Mercedes Benz and they diagnosed the problem as some parts around the truck door area were removed, not put back and ultimately causing water to leak over the AMP and burn it out and it's associated wiring Parts. Its a 2700 problem, not including the speakers, which Jimmy said he would'n't pay. He hung up the phone on myself and Service agent Chris at Mercedes Benz. Jimmy denied everything of course, the work, the email that Chris sent him showing evidence of the Damage, all of it. The only option he gave me was to return to his shop, for what I asked? If you screwed it up the first time, you will only do a worse job next time. DO NOT GO HERE,! LOOK TO BLOOMFIELD COLLISION AND other Places. These are Dishonest People who I thought were good people, they destroyed my car, made up stories, lied like they never knew me and the whole nine yards. The Hood of my car dosen't even close properly which is another issue I learned later on. I'ts all fake, fraud and GET OVER ON THE CUSTOMER, I don't care about those few fake reviews they probably had their friends write for them. I'm the real deal. Coming from NY with an ARRAY of recommended shops available I was worried when I got rear ended in NJ. I decided to trust the online community and take my car here for repairs, and you guys could not be more right! From the amazing front desk (Hi, Sam!) to the guys in the back (Sup Jose!) Top class organization. I was helped with my rental vehicle, offered rides to and from destinations (even after our work was done!) and was always treated like I was their #1 long time customer. Best part....I haven t even touched on their work yet! Color matched FLAWLESSLY, powercoated finish with the attn to detail enough to make sure no powder residue was accidentally transferred anywhere. A MUST visit if in a jam...and yep native NYers...they WILL WORK WITH YOU just like the shop back home; Insurance or not. I will be back in the unfortunate event that I am in an accident.
