Steve just reupholstered my dining room chairs - completed in 1 week and picked up/returned directly to my door. He gave me lots of fabric samples and he was patient and guided me on the various fabric options and durability. Not only was Steve pleasant and easy to work with but his final work product is of phenomenal quality! The chairs will last our lifetime and have elevated the overall look and feel of our dining room. Now our family enjoys sitting at the dining table regularly and making memories!

Stephen and Bergenfield Upholstery are fabulous! From my initial telephone contact, Stephen asked for pictures of my chairs and guided me through the process of ordering the correct amount of fabric. He instructed me to number the chairs and cushions to assure proper fit. We delivered the fabric and cushions on Monday. The work was completed on Friday. The chairs look beautiful ! The cushions fit perfectly. We are 100% pleased and offer the highest recommendation. Superb service and workmanship. Thank you.

I cannot express the professionalism and artistry that Steve and his team are capable of. Over ten years ago, Steve reupholstered our dining area chairs. The first picture is what we needed to have reupholstered. Look at the amazing work that was done to completely transform the appearance of our chairs. Notice the piping and finished work. There is no other place that we will use and have referred several of my friends and family members. There are not enough stars to express our satisfaction. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!!!

What an amazing job Bergenfield Upholstery did on my very old French Country sofa! From refinishing the wood frame to reupholstering the couch has been an unbelievable transformation. Many thanks to all who worked on this project, and especially to Steve who is wonderful to work with. I couldn't be more pleased! I highly recommend Bergenfield Upholstery.

Steve at Bergenfield Upholstery is 'the real deal' -- a true craftsman who cares about his work, with an artistic eye for detail, and a wonderful personality. I recently took a tired, old chair I had found by the side of the road to Bergenfield Upholstery, and Steve worked his magic. He took it from being a non-descript blah sort of 'grandmother' chair to a 'wow', ABC Carpet-worthy creation. He took care with every detail - from the color of the braiding to how he perfectly placed the fabric on the arms. And he did not waste the fabric (like other upholstery shops I have used) and actually gave me enough back so I could do a pillow. he even polished up the wood and made it look simply AMAZING!. His communication is perfect, he is very responsive, and his prices are very reasonable. I am planning to do more pieces with him. He is "The Best". Thank you Steve! (my niece is thrilled with the chair, by the way!)

Awesome work done by this business in recovering my kitchen stools. Work was completed earlier than promised. Vast choices of fabrics. The owner threw in some (uncharged) extras. & explained to me how to remove seats from stools, saving me $$ & making it easier to transport to & from their business.I had comparison shopped & this business had a better choice of fabric & reasonable pricing

Steve and Alex did a great job on replacing the panels on my sleigh bed that had experienced wear and tear over time. Steve was such a professional and was always in touch to give me an update. Everything was done in a timely manner and the finished project looked amazing. Highly recommend!

I love my chairs and table so much that I wanted refinished and new cushions. Went to meet Steve he was amazing. Gave me so many options and his price was well worth the chairs and table.Thanks for a great job

What a wonderful experience from the first time I walked in the door and met Steve HeWas so friendly and professional and told me honestly what I could expect from his service to reupholster my chairs l picked fabric from his shop and he said 10-12 days For the finished product So to my surprise I got a call in 4 days saying my chairs were done So happy with the finished product Please use this business You won t be disappointed Such a good experience and beautiful workmanshipY

I am thrilled with the outstanding upholstery work Steve did on my two club chairs. They look as beautiful. now as they did forty years ago when they were brand new. His prices are reasonable for the quality work he did. I very strongly recommend Bergenfield Upholstery to anyone who values their furniture.

I have had the best experience working with Steve! I had three chairs reupholstered. These chairs meant a lot to me as they have been in my family for multiple generations. He did an amazing job! Two were repainted & reupholstered & they are fantastic! I highly recommend this company, pleasant & very accommodating & affordable.Debbie

Steve came highly recommended and I am so glad that I followed through on it. Steve beautifully reupholstered our large living room sofa along with the throw pillows and he replaced the front skirt with a boarder edge giving the sofa a fresh clean more modern look. He also fixed the front of our very cat-damaged love seat by working on the panels in his shop and installing them right in our home. Steve is super-pleasant and accommodating and does high-quality work at reasonable prices!

What a great recommendation given to us by a close friend and we got even more than we expected to get done.Steve is a generational upholsterer and loves his profession and is more than enthusiastic in making suggestions, setting appointments and keeping them.The quality of his work is excellent and he helped revitalize a couch which has been in our family and used every day by three generations. It looks new and fells new but you can still sense the aura of the people in our family who have sat on, slept on and enjoyed the couch.Steve helped us with choosing fabric, got us an incredible price for our first choice, picked up the couch from our home, worked on it and delivered it to us within the time frame he gave us.Do not judge a book by its cover when it comes to this place, which is located on a turn in the road and with only one sign to mark it even being there.Bravo to Steve and his assistant Alex for a job well done and 2 very happy clients.

I am an interior designer (not from the area ) . I was searching for an upholsterer in my clients area.I was fortunate enough to find Steve at Bergenfield upholstery. We had an antique sofa to reupholster and I needed several pillows , bedding throws made. EXCELLENT WORK!! Steve was a pleasure to work with. The work was done exactly when he said . A pleasure to deal with this artisan! Steve dismantled and rebuilt a 70 year old wingback chair, recovering it with leather perfectly at a price far better than I d been quoted elsewhere in only 2 weeks time. I couldn t be more pleased.Thank you, Steve!!

I am so happy I came across the very talented Steve Umile and his full of character shop! He reupholstered our kitchen chairs. The job was done quickly and reasonably priced. Did I mention quality?! The quality of Steve s work is that of a dedicated craftsman, the likes of which you rarely find these days. As much as his work, I was enamored by his colorful shop, filled with a cool red retro table, antique radios and album covers. It is a shop that reminds me of times gone by.I choose from one of the many fabrics that is offered right there in the shop. There is also a huge array of swatch books to order from.We have a couch to do next and I will be bringing it to Bergen Upholstery for sure! A gem of a place & beautiful work.

Great customer service, and top notch work. The store has a large selection of fabrics in stock to choose from and much more if you want to order. The work was done sooner than expected and the final product looked amazing. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and I will be back with other furniture.

Bergenfield Upholstery in Bergenfield redid my wrought iron dinette chairs that were both uncomfortable and ugly due to their age (I think they were from the 70's). I supplied the fabric and Steven worked his magic. Not only did he make them look beautiful they are so, so comfortable. Steven takes incredible pride in his work. He learned the craft from his father and is now teaching his son (you might say that upholstering is in the blood!). He is competitively priced. I would highly recommend.

I found some mid-century chairs that had a good frame but had cushions that were wrecked. Bergenfield Upholstery really gave them new life. They are comfortable and beautifully reupholstered and the arms are restained and overall I am extremely happy. The business was responsive and inexpensive. They finished ahead of time, and sent me photos of the process. They dropped the chairs off at my house. I can't say enough good things about the process.
