DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. They proved to be all promises and no delivery. I nearly had to have the police involved to stop the ridiculous over charge that they did not have my permission to do. I have been a loyal customer of Silver Lake Auto until recently! It's a father son operation and I have always trusted them throughout the years. I needed to get a new alternator for my car and automatically brought my car to them. I assumed they were fair and honest, but I was sadly wrong. They charged me $450.00 to install a cheap us brand alternator. I called around to a few shops in the area and one quoted $380.00 and the other $400.00 with a very good quality brand alternator not the cheap one they put in my car. I called them to let them know I was disappointed and asked what type of alternator they were putting in. He was very rude and didn't like that I was asking questions. The other shop asked me what brand and quality I wanted. Silver Lake puts cheap parts in the cars and charges top dollar. I picked up my car and everything was running fine. I got home and noticed my radiator coolant was empty and found out there was a leak. There was also an oil leak in the valve cover gasket and pan as well. I discovered this at a lube place while getting my oil changed. If they noticed at the lube place why couldn't my mechanic advise me of the issues with my car. The valve cover gasket had oil seeping out and it was visible to me. They were very neglectful and showed a poor lack of judgement and respect for the maintenance of my car. They clearly wanted to make a killing replacing the alternator. If they treated me better and didn't overcharge I would have been able to fix the other problems with them. I went to another mechanic to have the valve cover gaskets, pan and radiator replaced. I am extremely disappointed with their service and lack of interest in being honest about the maintenance of my car. It's important for me to keep it in good shape so it lasts long. The overcharging isn't even the worst part of everything it's that they didn't do a thorough job to inform me of the other issues. It's sad that they are such scum and I hope they read this and change their acts up!!

Very experienced and reasonably priced mechanics. Type of professionals that work with you and give their honest opinions. Better yet said OLD SCHOOL mechanics that we don't have anymore

I was a loyal customer for years up till 2015. They charged me $200 for doing nothing. I had lights coming on it was gitch. That was my last there. Tony jr was the one not his father gave him a dirty look but i caught it. Peace

Have been going to this auto shop since 1990.Have always had excellent work done at a fair price. And you get your car back usually in 24 hours, if not the same day.

Excellent Mechanics, there is a reason they have been in business for over 50 years. I have been using them since 1983 and never looked at another mechanic. If you want the best, you will not do better then this place.

Found them online and asked if I could bring a used car I was looking at for an evaluation. Owner drove car for 10 minutes, checked engine code, didn't put car on lift and charged $55. Felt unreasonable to more.
