Everything here is wonderful.... Except the "death-trap" they refer to as ice skating. Please avoid and recommend also the same to everyone who suggests "skating" on plastic on dull skates is fun. The photos advertised are NOT what is in place. Otherwise, great place and staff.

This was our third year here and we are planning to book next year. Consistent service all around. Brew pub was solid this year in terms of food quality and service. Acquisition of the neighboring property is great and opens up more dining and entertainment options. We had a minor altercation with some property gone missing and just wanted to give a shout out to the hotel security who tracked it down and returned it to us as we were leaving the hotel. Absolutely amazing quality here and worth every penny.

We came for a wedding on location with the intention to only be me and my husband, but when childcare fell through, it became a family trip for four. The staff has been so helpful and accommodating. Ryan at the front desk helped us easily modify our reservation day of (since we booked on a third party, we were unable to upgrade to the room we needed) Michaela at the Brew Pub was so kind and understanding when delivering food to a room with sleeping babies :) The hotel is kept well and great for families. Love the park down the street too!

Had an event and all the staff was extremely helpful and tentative to our needs. The reason for my review on the room, was that it had a musky moldy smell. I had booked the room for 2 nights for our event that we had at the hotel which again was great, but after the first night I personally could not stay in the room for the second night. So my wife and daughter stayed alone, but I drove home do to the odor!

What can I say? This hotel is the absolute best on the island. They are to be commended for their cleanliness and their friendliness.Rooms: Rooms are very clean and well-maintained and stocked. The pillows and mattresses are a dream.Food & drinks: The wine dine and unwind package is great for off-season stays. Also, stopping at the coffee bar in the morning is like having coffee with an old friend. Pasquale Is excellent in his customer service skills he engages in light conversation and makes you feel right at home.Noteworthy details: This hotel is super super clean, which is a big plus to me. Will continue to come here over the winter as well.

Our family now refers to Alyssa Jones, director of wedding sales, as our angel from ICONA Avalon. With less than short notice, Alyssa led us in securing a space and organizing a ceremony that looked as though it had taken a year of planning. Alyssa, and other ICONA Avalon staff members, exemplified care and service that made us feel like we were the only couple getting married on a weekend full of weddings. We will never forget our experience with Alyssa and the ICONA Avalon on the best day of our lives. Many, many thanks!Rooms: Clean, not huge, but luxurious with all the essentials. And a balcony. On our wedding night, they created a pretty swan display on our bed in the shape of a heart using washcloths surrounded by white rose petals.Walkability: Ocean is in their backyard. Central to everything. Plenty of parking.Food & drinks: Starbucks in the lobby along with a couple restaurants with great breakfast options.

I m not someone that leaves review ever. The ICONA was a fine hotel, good location, decent rooms, a little pricey but it is what it is. The reason my review is so low is because an absolute scam they run at the front desk. We had 5 people with us, and they gave us pins that we needed to keep track of . (Mind you these pins don t really do anything, you don t need them for service or access) We left our pins on the night stand, never touched them and everything was fine. Three went missing after the cleaning ladies cleaned our room and we didn t think anything of it. When we checked out, we could only find two of them. Basically, a pin that might cost $.35 - .50 to make costed us $35 each as a replacement fee . After many expensive nights and expensive dinners, they got an extra $105 for 3, 50 cent pins. I understand the access and how they don t want them floating around, but considering these pins aren t a necessity to get into the beach I don t see the point. They still charged us despite telling them the cleaning lady took them. $105 SCAM for 3 shirt pins.

I like the proximity to the beach and the hotel pool. Pool is very kid friendly. They have a large section that is only 1 foot deep so little ones can play. Pool is heated and they have food and drink service.Rooms: Rooms are nice and clean. I've never had a problem. I had a kitchenette and brought my own skillet and spatula to make breakfast.Nearby activities: This is a bit of a dead zone on the island. Other than Buds Market and Mack's Pizza we drive everywhereSafety: Very safe. I have never felt unsafe at any part of the resort.Walkability: Not much around the hotel except the beach and Icona restaurants. Downtown Avalon and Stone Harbor are a short drive but not walkable, especially with kids.Food & drinks: The food at the pool bar had improved a lot. Best wings I've had in years. The brew pub is fine and food is serviceable.

We had the most beautiful wedding at Icona! Everything was perfect from the beach ceremony set up, the food, cocktail hour and reception. The team there was incredible and so attentive and friendly. Alyssa was a huge help leading up to the wedding and also on the day of, as well as Julia who made sure we were both taken care of throughout the night. Everything went so smoothly and we had such a blast!

Visited October, wedding, stayed 2 nights, Friday to SundayGreat staff, plenty of parking. Off season. Rooms are not large but very comfortable with microwave, refrigerator, room safe, tap and enter key card, all the comforts. Great king size bed. Walk in tile shower. Easily adjustable shower head, plenty of hot water. Balcony, view of Ocean, but not closed, keep curtains drawn if necessary as guests can Walk by. The pool is heated into October, weather permitting and is great. Nice size heated (adjustable temperature) whirlpool. Comfortable pool chairs, umbrella, towels, well maintained. Opens early and closes late. No lifeguard. Nice size, easy to walk in. Depth to 5 feet. Restaurant and bar on premises. Good food, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nightly room prices are high. Elevators or stairs.

This is a very lovely hotel. The staff are friendly. The decor is very nice and feels luxury. I also love the in room kitchen and pots and plates.The sand on the beach is so soft. You get a beach umbrella and chair setup with your beach tag.The hotel also has 2 30amp EV chargers.I wold definitely come back here!

Definitely a three star hotel. Rooms were very very clean and staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. There is a problem with dampness/moisture, at least on the ground floor, though. Our bedding, carpet, and eventually even the clothes in our suitcases were very damp and clammy. The only thing we could think of was that the a/c felt like it was blowing moist air instead of dry air. The first time we took showers our bathroom was absolutely dripping because the exhaust fan wasn t working. I asked for maintenance and they tried to fix it but it didn t work. The next morning they moved us to a room down the hall but that fan didn t work either so we just put up with it. So for a big nightly rate we couldn t store anything in our bathroom and had to shower with the bathroom door open to at least let some steam escape. But the hotel is all brand new inside and has a very nice location behind the dunes. The bar and beach staff were great-all very nice kids who worked hard! And our kids had a blast swimming all day in the ocean and the pool and sleeping hard at night.

Met there for a late afternoon lunch. Great service, atmosphere, good food. We ordered lots of appetizers and a burger, everything was good. If we order the loaded fries again we will probably ask for the cheese and the meat on the side as they get the fries soggy due to the juices, but that is a personal preference. Their regular fries are nice and crunchy.

The Icona Avalon is the definition of a true vacation! Every amenity is at your fingertips and the staff work very hard to make sure your stay is as close to perfect as possible.The beach and pool are at your back door with delicious restaurants to accompany which option you choose.At night there is live music at the Sandbar in the rear of the property making you feel as if you'reenjoying a vacation in the tropics.The atmosphere couldn't be more lovely and relaxing. I just returned from my 6th stay there and can't wait for vacation #7 Icona Avalon style!
