Really not sure why a few people decided to give this auto repair shop bad reviews. This is one of the best shops to get your ride fixed in all of South Jersey. In fact, I was there because of an issue with my engine that another auto repair shop claimed that they fixed. Independent Automotive actually did a proper diagnostic and fixed the problem. The owner of this place learned how to be a mechanic while in the U.S. Army.

I have to make this short and simple. The owner just came off rude when asking questions about his services and what he has to offer that differs from other mechanics in the area. His approach about his knowledge for cars didn't make me feel comfortable to want to try his shop out.

Great place, great people, great work and fair prices. My family are mechanics and I was very concerned when I left my home state and needed to find a new repair shop. Pete is very personable, knowledgeable, and fair. He walked me through my Jeeps issues, what needs to be fixed now and can wait, and different payment approaches to extend my dollar. As long as I m living in New Jersey, Independence Automotive will be my go to repair shop.

Great owner and shop. He has taken care of 4 of my family's cars over the past year or so. He addresses all of our concerns, gives a clear explanation and estimate for the work he's going to perform, and ensures consent before doing the actual work. He has a proven track record of investigating any underlying issues and getting to the root cause instead of just putting a band-aid on it. It looks like his business has been sabotaged by an ex-employee who asked his friends to put up a bunch of fake reviews about 9 months to a year ago. Went in for a quote on fixing my trunk that would no longer open. The dealer had checked it, but left it broken without telling me. Pete was able to diagnose, obtain the necessary part and fix the trunk all in one day and was very helpful with working out payment on the unexpected expense of fixing it right away. Very professional and since I had to wait with my car, checked to make sure I was ok and up to date on the progress of the work throughout the process

Great place to get work done. Dropped it off and it was done same day. Truck runs like new now. The owner was clear and told me what was wrong. Got the work done fast and at a fair market price. I WILL be going back. Ignore the fake reviews..it's a shame what people can do. Give Pete a chance and you won't be disappointed. Really a great American shop. I had so many things broken and needing to be fixed on and in my engine, I apologized the moment I walked in the door. Pete was all smiles, extremely polite and knowledgeable. His quote up front was spot on and he was forthcoming with any suggestions and made sure my car was completely taken care of before I drove it away. He gave me suggestions and time to figure out what I wanted to fix while he had it, I ended up having him fix everything he suggested. I would absolutely recommend him to family and friends. The owner Peter is a perfect gentleman. Top notch auto repair shop and reasonable. I asked about the one star reviews, didn t make sense. Turns out an x employee has gotten a lot of his friends to try and trash his business. It s not right. He s trying to get them removed but no luck so far. Anyway ignore them, they are fabricated which you ll find out for yourself when you bring your vehicle in for service.

Pete did a phenomenal job repairing our old 7.3L diesel engine in our Ford work truck. He took his time and addressed numerous issues caused by shoddy past repairs and his prices were well below that of the competition. We will use Pete for all my future diesel repairs. Highly recommend anyone with a light duty diesel truck do the same!Service: Engine repair

Pete is probably one of the best and most honest mechanics I have met. I came in for some front end work and wheel bearing replacement, and he did everything that I asked for at an honest price and kept me informed of things that might need to be addressed down the line. Will definitely be coming back.

I dropped my car off two weeks ago.The vehicle had some over heating issues along with a coolant concern .,upon arrival I was told that the over heating and coolant issue would be repaired along with getting the van inspected through the state.I was given a quote lasted week with a price of 964.00 in repairs, which thought was reasonable and I was thankful for the 10 percent discount two days after I was giving the original quote, the owner /mechanic Pete sent me an estimate with an extra 400 dollars adjusted to it without my authorization. I expressed to Pete how unprofessional and dishonest it is to do such a thing.I made it very clear was there was no way I would pay over the estimate I was originally quoted. I came in this morning to pick up and Pete stated that he s not charging me I And not to bring the car back, this was beyond alarming to me he made major repairs to my car now I m worried for the safety of driving my kids if anything was actually fixed. I came in here trying to support a new group of young business owners and now my safety on the road will suffer for it. I m literally baffled.Services: Engine repair, Air conditioning

My daughter took my grandsons car there to get an alignment and brakes done, the car is still pulling to the right, which is disappointing after spending over 1,000 dollars. My mother got an alignment done few weeks ago on her Toyota and it s pulling to the left the same way it was when she dropped it off, for all that I could have got it done in Camden for half the price. I m speechless

I inquired about getting an alignment which is advertised on their website and drove by did not see an alignment rack on sight that s a level of shady that I don t want to deal with
