Worst experience ever! We brought a car last week of August & since we know him & know he s not very quick at getting the job done we give him a generous 2-3 week timeframe. Car brought in for exhaust noise and noise that goes away when you push in clutch. Had clutch replaced last year by a reputable mechanic that he knows. So we don t think it s the clutch, he says maybe throw out bearing. On 9/8/18 he asks for $450 to buy a clutch, we give him $460 & he says car will be ready next week. We hear nothing for next few weeks despite several calls & msgs and we drive by shop & can t catch him there & car hasn t moved from where we parked it, so he never really looked at it to determine what the actual issue was. On 9/27 we re fed up & leave firm msg saying we want an update, still no callback. So we show up later that day & he s finally moved the car into the shop & says will be ready 9/28, we show up & he says will be ready 9/29, we show up & he says he can t get the parts??...these are the parts he supposedly bought back on 9/8! We say forget it since it s been at the shop for 5 weeks & say just change the transmission fluid & put on the exhaust hanger. On 9/30 he sends text that it s ready, keys under wiper. We reply & ask for total bill, he won t respond. We show up on10/1 & wait 1.5 hrs to catch him & get an itemized invoice. He says he doesn t have time to type an invoice, we say cars not moving until we get one. He then pretends his invoice system is giving him trouble but we aren t leaving. So now he s starts saying we have to cover all his labor for taking the car apart & putting it back together even though he didn t fix or replace anything! We ask what he expects & he says $450, funny how that works out for him & he has the nerve to say he s cutting us a break. So for 3 qts of transmission fluid & a $13 exhaust hanger we had to pay him 5 hours of labor at $75 an hour. He says it s not his problem he couldn t get the parts. He does finally reluctantly print us an invoice but back dates it to 9/18?? Not sure what he s trying to accomplish with that, we have proof it wasn t ready until 9/30. So now we have to start over and bring it somewhere else. Very curious to see if there is any issue with the clutch as it shifts fine. Update to follow.
