I have to say I am horribly disappointed with my experience today with Kathleen (maybe it was Katharine. "Supervisor").. I had called yesterday and made a reservation for today the following day after asking what I would need to bring. It's an hour drive from me and closest DMV to me so I wanted to be certain. Kathleen told me to bring my deed, birth cert, ss card, utility bill as I was transferring out of state license to NH resident real ID driver's license. I arrived on time and Kathleen was helping the 3pm appt sign into kiosk. I was scheduled before them. She motioned to the mother and teen daughter getting id to come up first. Had small talk for 30 min about jewelry, high school, knitting, etc.. then called me. Was rude and unhelpful. Extremely rude and unhelpful told me I brought wrong paperwork and was speaking slowly as if I'm stupid or something.. tells me my deed is for housing support .. as if I'm on housing support or aid of any kind lady.. she finally finished her rude statements talking to me slowly and gives me my temporary license .. i just drove an hour to get home and look the card over. It's a class D (I'm class c and clearly checked that box and she acknowledged clas c)... It was issued today 3/29/24.... It says it expires 5/28/24.... Thank you for your lack of kindness, lack of consideration, poor people/communication skills, and lack of attention to detail on your job. Guess I'll be taking Monday off as well and driving an hour back again now! Thank you Kathleen

I understand the receptionist has to deal with unhappy people all day, but the horrible attitude and talking down to me the entire time was unnecessary, I understand waiting an hour and a half, but there is no clear instruction for sign in and the documentation required on the website was incorrect. Going to the DMV is always a pain, I get it, but at least the Dover DMV has their sign in process together, even if the Tamworth DMV is the size of my bedroom they could try to make it easy instead of being condescending during my entire experience. I mean come on, minor improvements can take care of every problem here.

Every DMV building in New Hampshire is full all day long. Need to build bigger buildings and have more employees. That goes for all the DMV offices. I've never once been to a DMV and had it take under an hour.

Sat there for 1 1/2. It was like watching paint dry. Then they said it was as better to make an appointment. Nothing got done that day. Ugh

The lady who does fingerprinting was empathetic to my situation and got my prints done despite some discrepancies with scheduling. Very grateful for her service today. Thank you again!

The 2 women that work there are very unhappy with their jobs and working with they public. They should have an attitude adjustment and find new jobs or retire. There are plenty of jobs out there right now. I'm sure a lot of people would be happy to work for the State of NH. They are rude and hurtful at the very least. This is not the first time to have encountered this type of treatment at this DMV. The one star is only because I couldn't post without it.

Small space with limited chairs. Be sure to make an appointment online and expect to wait, 30-60 minutes, even with an appointment.

By far the rudest women ever !! Cant get the shizz together and give a real answer it s time to retire if you can t be nice you should work in the back or just go home no one wants to deal with jerks if you can t be nice go home !! We won t miss you I promise

Absolutely make an appointment. I almost went the week before without one but decided to wait and have a dedicated time slot. So glad I did. I arrived on time but didn't notice the check-in kiosk at first so one or two walk ins went before me. After I checked in my name was called in less than 10 minutes.

Consistently dragging along people who could be helped and out of the way in less than 5 minutes, but rather the place gets filled with people and those with appointments don t even get to have them on time. So what s the point of it? Plan on being here all day no matter what time of day it is, because it s always inconsistent in getting people what they need. The ladies are always so nice but could really go faster Seems to be no urge to get these people in and out. Edit: mom and daughter just came in 10 minutes before close and had just a quick question but end up taking someone s spot in line taking 5 minutes. I swear that they are trying to be as INEFFICIENT as possible it s truly ridiculous

Had a 1:00 appointment, got there at 12:40. At 1:40 I still had not been seen for my appointment. They processed 4 walk-ins in front of me and when I asked why they were not fulfilling the appointment the lady said, you should just expect to come here and wait. Not sure why they take appointments but needless to say I will not be back. I think the State should take notice at the bad service at this location and not openly waste people's time.

It seems my review got deleted. So reposting. Go to dover instead. They do not see people at their appointment times at tamworth, expect to sit in the lobby for at least an hour WITH an appointment, god help you if you show up without one.

The GPS from Google maps took me to a dirt road on depot street and there was no sign of any kind of building anywhere! Such a waste of time and should have just drove to Concord.

Went here to renew my license... 220 appt, arrived at 145. I didn't anticipate how busy they would be! Seen at 330. Staff were very nice, but limited in number, hence the long wait.

Horrible place. When you go in there is absolutely no information on what to do. Never thought that any place would be worse than Concord, but Concord is like paradise compared to Tamworth. Shame on the State for allowing this DMV.

Very pleasant experience. If you have previously delt with other states or big city DMV's, you will be delighted. You won't spend your entire day there waiting in the wrong line! Employees were extremely helpful and professional. Transferring for another state, was there a total of 20 minutes.

Did a walk-in for a renewal of handy cap placard and waited two hours to be waited on they never even asked if I had an appt or anything just let me sit there and wait

They website states they take walk-in's for driver licence renewal but they have no system to process walk in's. They make walk-in's wait untill the end of the line even when there is several no shows in a row. This is an insultingly ineffective system to allow walk-ins, our taxes should be funding a functional system to get your licence.

Really, granddaughter makes an appointment for 8am she was late. Well 2 half hours later we are still flipping waiting while walk in and appointment holders come and go

The ladys name was Kathleen. She had to be the sweetest Lady ever. I arrived a little late due to road work, she was so was so thoughtful, she helped me anyways!! Shes a keeper!!

Went to Tamworth DMV watched three men in front of me treated so rudely i left and went to my town office.Rude, crude and Nasty is that what we want our DMV Offices to be like Massachusetts!! Not me and never ever have i seen such disgraceful behavior!Get your act together fire those woman.We have plenty of people that would appreciate that job!!!!! You lady's are most pathetic!!!!

Some of the nicest DMV people I have ever met; extremely patient, friendly, helpful, and their sense of humor was an extra bonus... Truly appreciated! I'll be back!
