My husband and I were lucky to have our purchase experience led by Ben at Portsmouth Chevy. He handled all of our questions with thoughtful attention and sought fast answers to our questions. The process was smooth and so easy with his guidance. If you re on the market for a new vehicle, ask for the bow treatment with Ben and you won t be disappointed.

So far the service for my 2004 Chevy Silverado and 2023 Silverado is excellent. My 2004 Silverado needed a lot of work to pass state inspection this month. All work such as installing new manifolds, brakes and brake lines went well!

I was impressed.I was greated by Ben. Very nice and helpful. I was looking to get into something with better gas mileage than my 2019 hemi ram. Ben went above and beyond for me with his patients and care for my needs. The rest of the guys took care of me also. Even the people I wasn't dealing with were very nice. I bought a 2020 equinox and was happy to see it came fully detailed and full gas tank. Shout out to the detail guys. Thanks portsmouth chevy for a great experience.

Excellent customer service. They took my car right in on Monday . I was called and explained what the problem was and the cost. I had my car back by 2PM on Monday. When I got there they showed me the part that was defective and again was explained to me. I would definitely bring my car back to them for service.

Probably some of the most disorganized and clueless people i ve ever met. Made an appointment a week in advance, i m almost two hours away, and 30 minutes into driving there i receive a call saying the truck i was going to test drive had been sent to auction and the woman apologized because no one told her. She said she would show me similar trucks in my price range though, so i showed up anyway. When I got there we looked around the lot trying to find another truck I wanted to drive, and we found the exact truck she told me was at auction. I asked to test drive it and they said it was gone and SOLD at auction, and then said the only other trucks in a similar model were thousands of dollars more. When i told them we saw it in the back, magically they gave me the keys to test drive. After the salesmen said he d give me a call tomorrow about numbers to buy it, i received no call. So i called and they had no idea what i was talking about in relation to it being at auction. I then settled on a price after the salesmen would go days without responding, we agree on a price and he doesn t respond for two days, and then texts me on the second day saying it was sent to auction. Don t waste your time here, they don t respect your time.

They expected me to pay for them to fix a known issue (TSB) with the Silverado back windows leaking water and also quoted me nearly $1k for rear brake pads. I don t have the time to do it myself like I used to, but I definitely will find somewhere else to start taking my truck.I m glad they keep texting me to remind me to leave this review.

Highly Recommend! My husband and I made the 3 hour trek from central Maine to purchase a truck. We were fortunate to work with salesman, Steven Crowe to find the right truck for my husband. It was a terrific low pressure buying experience. We found all the staff very pleasant to work with and the wait time to finalize the transaction was very reasonable. We will seek them out again when we are in the market for another vehicle. It was well worth the travel.

We had an amazing experience buying our 2019 Chevy Trail Boss. Chris was a pleasure to work with. He made our purchase easy and seamless. All of the staff was very attentive and upbeat, even with the very busy Saturday afternoon. We would give them a 10/10 rating and will highly recommend them to all!!

The transmission flush fixed the lag when the truck started from a stop position. Neil, the advisor, kept me informed on status and price at every step. Kevin the foreman explained the additional findings regarding the condition of my rear brakes.

Recently brought my truck in for an airbag recall. Also needed my low beam headlight spliced for a new socket. Figured with parts and labor would come out to $150-200. The service man had the audacity to try and charge me $580 for an easy splice job. Told me the part would ve been $150 when in actuality was $12 at Autozone. Managed to charge me $99 for a diagnostics test. A good reason to stick to your local mechanic for an easy fix. Other than that the atmosphere was comfy and the staff was very friendly.

I set out a while ago to buy a new truck. After going back and forth with several dealerships via email.....it was Portsmouth Chevrolet that really seemed interested in helping me and earning my business. They were great working with me to find what I was looking for and I didn't feel any pressure to physically come to the dealership from them until it was time to test drive...which was a welcome change from the others I was communicating with. They were all very friendly, polite, and definitely had a no-nonsense approach. They took the time to address questions and were great working with my limited availability and work schedule. The waiting area was nice with coffee and snacks. There is a TV to help pass the time and the WiFi is .For someone who hates car buying, and I mean h-a-t-e-s car buying, this was an easy going no pressure experience for me.I love my new truck and I'm 100% confident that I will be returning to Portsmouth Chevy in the future. I have no reservations about recommending them to you if you're searching for your next vehicle.

Bought a used car from this dealership and I regret my decision.Late 2023 my car unfortunately got totaled and I now needed to buy myself a new-to-me car. Having found exactly what I wanted, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport, at Portsmouth Chevy - I was excited. Called to test drive the vehicle and on arrival they could not even locate the vehicle on the lot. Turns out the Jeep was dead and they needed to jump start it in order for me to drive it. Only to find out that the check engine light was on. At this time we were working with Andrew from sales and he reassured us it was no big deal and that it would get fixed. After having gone through all of the paperwork, I worked with Erich in finance to purchase this vehicle. Being a traveling nurse I was excited to finally have my own mode of transportation back. I brought it home Friday night, and Sunday morning I drove it to my newest work assignment. That Monday morning (3 days after purchase) I get in my Jeep to find the check engine light on. It was a Cylinder #5 misfire. I called Erich and he told me it was quote not a big deal and that I could make an appointment with the service department to get it looked at. I brought it in that Thursday, only for the service department to tell me it was likely electrical issues and since the check engine light turned off it was fine. Luckily my boyfriend, who is a diesel mechanic, looked over the Jeep for me and ran some diagnostics. He found out it in fact was a blown head gasket. We called the service department again to make another appointment to hopefully have them make the same diagnosis. After having it for a day, Neil from the service department called me to tell me the Jeep was ready to be picked up. Not knowing much about vehicles, I knew enough to know that a blown head gasket takes a long time to fix. I pressed for more answers on tests they ran and all I got was that they drove it around and the check engine light did not come on. I requested them to run more tests and informed them of the tests we ran ourselves. We sent over pictures/video proof of definitive tests that support having a blown head gasket. We were told that we are not duplicating anything at this time which tells me they did not run the tests they knew would show there was an issue. I asked Neil specifically to tell me what tests they ran, he said he would look into it and give me a call back. After not receiving a call back for days, I called to follow up. Neil was still unable to tell me what tests they ran and at this point the Jeep was in the shop for over a week. I told him that this was ridiculous and that we would be taking it somewhere else to get it looked at. At the second shop we took it to, it took the service department all of a few hours to let me know that the issue was in fact the head gasket, which we knew all along. My boyfriend having been frustrated for me left a long review already, explaining his frustration and warning possible future buyers to stray away from Portsmouth Chevy. He got a comment to call the dealership in hopes that we could discuss the issue and figure something out. He called the next day, left his number and was assured the General manager would call him back. Having not received a call the next day, he reached back out and got ahold of Andrew the general manager at Portsmouth Chevy. My boyfriend had asked why he never received a call back about the issue, he was told the message I was left said you were mad, and I normally don t call back angry customers because nothing gets done .No one at this dealership takes accountability and we have gotten excuse after excuse as to why things are happening. We were told that vehicles break all the time, how can you prove this was a problem before you left the lot . I could go on and on, but to summarize: very disappointed with all departments at this dealership. Will not be buying from here in the future and will be telling everyone I know to stay away.

I went to Portsmouth Chevy with a flat, first one ever, with a ford car and no idea what to do. Ben was able to get me a new tire and have my car back at 3 before I had to travel home from work. This Chevy has the most professional employees that do great work.

I ve bought two used vehicles fromThis dealership. They sent me off with an exhaust leak on the first vehicle and gave me a hard time when I brought it back to be fixed. This vehicle quite literally ended up eating oil ended up having to put oil in weekly because of it. The second vehicle has run fine for 2 years. Until recently I noticed a very musty smell coming from the vehicle only to find mold Is completely covering the drivers seatbelt. I received a letter with the following. Not only am I willing to pay you more for you 2016 Jeep Cherokee (cash or trade), but I would like to purchase your vehicle even if you don t buy one from me. And I just called and was told that they wouldn t be interested in buy it back because of the mold. I would not recommend this dealership. An exhaust leak and now toxic mold in my vehicle. This dealership does not care about the quality of the used cars they sell or the safety of the customers.

Short version: They sold my girlfriend a jeep with engine issues and will not fix it.Long version: My girlfriend bought a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with 55k miles from here. On the test drive, the check engine light was on and the coolant was low. We were hesitant to buy it but it was exactly what she wanted and they assured us the check engine light wasn t anything to worry about and they refilled the coolant reservoir. I took their word for it since it only had 55k miles (my mistake). A couple days into owning it the check engine light was back on and the coolant was low again. The check engine light was for a cyl #5 misfire . She called Erich and he told her a cylinder misfire wasn t a big deal (it is) and not to worry. The check engine light turned on/off for a couple days before we could get it looked at. She is a traveling nurse so the jeep was 4 hours away from Portsmouth. I brought it in to their service department, the check engine light did not come on, and they found nothing wrong. Knowing it didn t magically fix itself, I drove from their service department straight to my shop (light duty diesel) and ran my own tests. These pointed me towards a blown head gasket being the issue. With my experience being in diesel I brought it to a trusted mechanic for another opinion, he agreed it was head gasket or cracked cylinder head issue. Normally I would do this repair myself, but I didn t want to spend the money for parts and my time on something warranty should cover. I drove it back to Portsmouth and explained what I found. A couple days later my girlfriend got a call from Neil, who said it was ready to be picked up. We were confused at first, Neil explained they test drove it, it didn t overheat, and the check engine light didn t come on. They didn t see any reason to do further testing. I explained to Neil that didn t prove or disprove anything, I explained exactly what tests they needed to do to get a definitive answer. I sent him video evidence of the tests I performed showing proof of a head gasket/cylinder head issue. He acknowledged receiving the videos. He said he would get back to us. He called a couple days later saying they test drove it and no check engine light. We asked if he performed the tests we had explicitly asked for. He said he would talk to the technician and call us back. After not getting a call back for a few days (the jeep has been at the service department for 8 days now) we called to ask about it. Neil stated they found nothing wrong but could not tell us exactly what tests they actually ran. He could also not explain the coolant needing to be refilled every few days. He just kept repeating that the check engine light didn t come on during the test drive. At this point we gave up and told them to leave the keys in it so we could pick it up. Thankfully my girlfriend purchased an extended warranty so we can bring it to another location to be fixed. I am not sure if the dealership is trying to avoid taking responsibility or if they are just this incompetent. Either way I would advise to stay away.

Had check engine light for a bad pcv sensor. Sensor was on back order but got it in less than a few days. I was given a loaner as the my truck was needed for the day to the repairs. All and all great experience, trucks fixed and back on the road.

Hayden, Andrew, and Steven all took great care of us. Easy no hassle car shopping experience. They let us control where we went, what we wanted to see, and didn't try to shove a vehicle on to us. We got a new Traverse from them and are very pleased on how the transaction went.

Would have been 5 stars if the part for my vehicle wasn't impossible to find. William Hetticher was a good person to work with. The communication between us was spot on. I would go back to him if needed.

Angelica, the GM, was wonderful, as was Steven, my salesman. I bought a better, newer vehicle than I thought I was going to be able to afford. Great dealership. Everyone has been extremely helpful through the entire process

The greeting and check in at service was great. New guy learning the system did a good job. He apologized for not being faster but it was all good. Services performed were done correctly and in the promised amount of time. Very friendly.Cashier at check out pointed to the paper taped to the counter that said that a 3% fee would be charged if I used my GM card tgat I had taken out to use at a GM dealership. She said it came from GM and not the dealership. After calling the GM card by Marcus and GM/Chevrolet customer support, I learned that it was not true. It was charged by the dealership. When I called to ask why I was told this falsehood, the woman that answered tge call immediately transferred me to the service manager. On call back by my service writer, he confirmed it was a dealership charge, not GM.BTW, when I called the number on my service receipt, I got the Salem NH dealership. So I googled and got a toll free number that picked up but then sent me to a marketing ad. Made my attitude worse. I then called another number I found online and finally did get thru.I sm not going to go to that dealer again. Charge non GM card users the fee, Not GM card users that are encouraged to use the GM card. Key Auto lost a customer and I posted a social media story about this whole experience.

Wanted to buy a used car from here. Reached out through their website and was told someome from the dealer would call me to let me know if the car i was interested in was still available. Waited four hours, never got a call. Tried calling the dealer 3 times, couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. Reached back out to the Internet sales manager that originally contacted me, and she said someone would be calling. I ended up buying a car elsewhere today and still have not received a call from the dealer.

Just purchased 2024 Trax, worked with Killian on the sale. He was super laid back and easy to work with. Everything was upfront no hidden fees or anything that wasn t unexpected. They processed my trade and took the car home within a few hours. I usually go to another Chevy dealership and decided to give them a try this time around. So glad I did!! Great team at Portsmouth Chevy!
