I learned my 2015 Kia Optima was part of a motor recall when I brought it in for an inspection back in May (it failed inspection due to the motor). I was initially told the engine would be replaced and I would have my car back in August (so 3 months from when I brought it in), I was also told there was no option for a rental during this time. Part of the delay was a parts shortage, however the last few months they have had the new engine ready to be installed, just apparently did not have enough technicians to complete the job. We contacted this dealership on several occasions asking for a loaner or some assistance in resolving this in a reasonable time frame (including asking to have our car towed to another Kia dealership a half hour away who said they would have the job completed in a month), and was told there was nothing they could do to help us and we would need to go through corporate (corporate was also of no help to us). We were finally given a loaner car after 7 months of waiting for a new engine and after multiple calls to them and being told my car was next in line to be worked on starting in November. When the engine was finally replaced in January 2024, I went to pick up my car, it wasn t running correctly when we left the lot, so took it back and learned because it sat for so long, it was going to need new front and rear brakes, pads, and rotors, and possibly tires. They refused to provide us with any sort of assistance other than charge us full price for to complete the jobs (even though the reason for the new issues is because it was sitting for 8 months waiting for them to replace the motor). All in all it took 8 months to get my car back that now needs new repairs, with multiple attempts to get some help and being told there was nothing they could do. As a loyal Kia customer to this dealership I am just appalled at how they have have handled this situation and essentially told us it s not their fault. I will never bring my car here for any sort of service ever again.
