This is the first & only shop in my experience to order & install parts without discussing it with the customer. Only found out when it came time to pay and resulted in several hundred dollars of unexpected expense (luckily I had the dough); This was done at my first encounter here and yes my vehicle needed those parts. Since I've returned multiple times because they do quality work, just it's to the point it's always a month wait for service cause everyone in town goes here. You many need a backup mechanic cause this shop is always swamped.

Went to get my vehicle inspected (at another place) and as they were doing it a screw lock on the brake broke off, and they failed me saying I needed it fixed. Went to 2 other places and was told it would be a week to two weeks to wait. I couldn't not drive my car since I'd be commuting across state in the coming days. Went in to Wilder's, explained what happened, and he said he'd check it right now, despite clearly being busy. He not only got it in, fixed my issue, but also didn't even charge me! Despite saying I would pay for his time, which I would say was about 40 minutes.I've also never been there, so for him to be so nice, understanding, and generous to a new person is something I've never seen in a mechanic or shop.

After years of being taken advantage of by different mechanics I have finally found an honest, reliable, and great mechanic in Steven Wilder. I trust him completely. He has always shown me courtesy and respect. Steve and his staff are also extremely knowledgeable. Sometimes it may take some time to get in to see him, but that's just because everyone knows he is the best and they are very busy. Thank you for everything you have done for myself and the community.

Have nothing but great things to say about Steven his business. He's a straight shooter and will get the job done. We have found him to be honest about repairs and never tries to upsell or get us to do things we know don't need to be done. He is the primary mechanic for our 2 vehicles ... 1 is older and 1 is newer. He is realistic about keeping the older vehicle safe and on the road without doing more than it needs to get us around town. It can be hard to find a mechanic you trust and we highly recommend Wilder Auto!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Just moved to the area a few months ago and everyone I talk to pointed me to Steven Wilder Automotive. Had to wait a while to get my truck in to his team but once I did I saw why everyone had referred me to them. Top notch communication and service. Also appreciate that Steven took the extra time late on a Saturday to give me a tutorial on my new plow. They are busy and booked out a ways for a reason. If you can wait it out you won t be disappointed.

The only place around i trust to work on my car! Since i no longer have time to do the work myself ive tried going to several places around Cheshire county and each time was told my car needed things i knew it didnt. I swear people will see a young girl with an older car and almost always try to rip you off or tell you it needs something it doesnt. Anyways Steven Wilders has always been great to work with and very reasonably priced! Never once tried to scam me or rip me off. 100/10 would recommend

Have used this shop since moving to Keene and would continue to do so if I wasn t moving out of the area, have always been nice, professional, timely, and honest. Have never been upsold on things I didn t need and I trust their opinion.Four stars only because I got charged for a tire rotation and balance on my most recent visit that didn t get done. Would still recommend based on prior visits and believe it was an honest mistake at the end of the week due to being overbooked.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Just moved to the area, failed inspection do to a leak in my exhaust. Called and actually talked to the owner who was extremely nice and professional. Took me in on short notice cause I had 10 days from the registration to get inspected and fixed my car in a timely fashion. I will not go anywhere else with my vehicle and highly recommend his services.Service: Exhaust

Very satisfied they re very helpful and courteous. You can tell they re extremely busy, but they always make time for the customer.I will definitely recommend them and will continue to Use them for my repairs.

By far the best mechanic I ve had. Him and his team care about the customer and does everything to insure satisfaction. By sitting in the waiting room I ve also seen him do everything in power to help others with minor crisis and ensure you are safe on the road and taken care of. Fair priced with good quality and service. Highly recommended!

Best mechanic in Keene, probably NH and maybe even the whole country. He s booked out for a reason. Highest quality service, honest, fair, and quick work, and incredibly friendly staff. Heading out of town, had an emergency, brake caliper stuck, got us right in, did a general look over while wait for part, topped off fluids needed, listed issues that need attention soon. Sitting here listening to Steve communicating with customers..... absolutely top notch !!! Never been here before but treated with class. He now has another permanent customer. Thank you Wilder Automotive :)

I chose a 5 star rating because Steven & staff are all around perfection from my experience. First, His lovely Secretary squeezed me into their already busy schedule. Very professional & polite. Most of the calls were answered by Steven himself. He also accepts credit card payments (over the phone) which was convenient, seeing that my Pops paid! Anyway, the work I needed was done promptly & my car is riding terrifically! Happy with it all.Thank you all~ I will be calling Steven Wilders for future car needs, hopefully~ 2002 Honda Accord

Steve is good people. I don't know his technicians but that is mostly because I haven't asked to meet them. Bring that I'm a mechanic as a hobbiest, I really appreciate how open and helpful he is when I have any questions for him. Good business and good people. Highly recommended.

Steve is super busy because he and his team are really good at what they do. They are capable of almost anything to do with motor vehicles and will give you expert work for reasonable prices. I recommend Wilder automotive to friends and family alike.

My car sat with a dead engine in our yard for a year.. They were able to put in another engine and get the car back up and running. It was such a large job that was done well. Other mechanics in the area wouldn't touch the car, so I was very happy to hear Steve Wilder was willing to work on it.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Steve is a straight shooter. He'll tell you exactly what needs done and won't try to upcharge you on labor and parts. If you're looking for a shop in Keene, Wilder Automotive is the place to go.

I've been dealing with Steve for (time edit 8 years) now. The only thing that has grown with his rapidly expanding business is his team, expertise and professionalism. Wilder is by far one of the BEST local establishments in our area. Some entrepreneurs even outside of the auto industry could take a page OR two from Wilder Automotive's take on customer service. Steve is so busy these days and still finds time to just talk and answer some of my dumb d.i.y. questions. 6 out of 5 stars is what I would vote.

I have to say that my experience was not quite as great as it seems others have had. A few weeks back I had gone to have a realignment done and was told that due to loose parts they would not be able to realign until that had been fixed. I was referred here as they had weekend hours which my regular mechanic unfortunately does not. I do have to say that they were great about getting me in quickly (the reason there are two stars not one). I was told that the repairs on my vehicle were going to be far more extensive than originally thought - I was told that basically my entire front end had to be rebuilt.I was finally able to get my car in to my regular mechanic (who has always done very well by my family and myself) and was told that my car did not actually have any significantly loose parts, that the only thing I need at this time would be the realignment.I don't know if this was a matter of being taken advantage of as a young woman dealing with car related issues on her own (unfortunately this would not be the first time, which is why I sought a second opinion), or some other reason - but regardless of the reason I was quite frustrated by the experience.

I ve come to know Steve as being honest, knowledgeable, and and professional. These are the valuable and rare combination of qualities we need when having our vehicles repaired and maintained. Great to have a place like this in Keene!

Late on Friday afternoon we were traveling through and had a trailer breakdown. Local Midas shop referred us to Wilder. We called and showed up and they worked us in. Picked the trailer up before they closed. Good work, fair price and got us back on the road. Thanks! Will remember when we are back in the area.

Dunk was a hard act to follow, but Steve is up to the task. Honest, fast and has a couple top notch knuckle busters also working to keep your vehicles in prime condition. Highly recommended!
