Excellent experience with Gary and his team! He was very communicative, honest, and flexible. I trailered my 42 year old Italian car 2.5 hours from Connecticut to get Gary s service, and I m SO glad I did. Drove it home!

I go and see Ghari every time I need any type of repairs. I've even gone down there and had my eye glasses. Repaired, there's not much they can't do great crew. Great team, good people to deal with and they've got everything pretty much under the Sun. To work on your vehicle, I highly recommend them.

I just met Gary for the first time today when he looked over a car my daughter was considering buying. 5 stars in kindness, time spent helping me, and sound advice! I'm so glad to have been recommended this garage. Already set up an inspection next month for my car.

Please be aware this place will claim that they're legitimate, honest people in reality. They do things that are vindictive which is really puzzling. Considering when you ask them to diagnose an issue, they give you three different prices. Then when you don't do the work with them or tell them that you found a buyer that After they told you to buy a new car, they get mad at you and run your vehicle through state inspection without authorization, causing you to be without a vehicle not being able to put food on the table for your family. These people need your money more than you do. They'll tell you so please be aware. Stay away. Save yourself the frustration and the financial ruin that they causealso, after you pay them to diagnose an issue, they'll charge you another diagnosis fee to give you an estimate for those repairs

I needed a tiny little clip for a part on my BMW that you can't just buy online. So I called around to see if any local mechanics might have one laying around for an old repair job. Jason called me back the next day, said he had the part, and was happy to just let me have it so I could finish the repair on my own. So accommodating and helpful. Words cannot describe enough how valuable this company is to the consumer!!! They are honest. They are Dependable. They are knowledgeable. Jason has been my mechanic my Land Rover for years now. More recently I had a huge problem with my vehicle that was gonna cost me $10,000. Jason put in some time where he really didn t have too. He really researched what was wrong with my car (even from sources outside the United States) I was able to get all expenses paid by the manufacturer all because Jason truly cared and put in the effort to inform me. This is almost completely heard of in the mechanic world. In the past when other things were broken on my vehicle I was given back my broken parts After the repairs were done. Trust is earned never given. Let me tell you they have earned it. Awesome place! I was only in town for another day and Jason squeezed me in last-minute. He quickly diagnosed the issue (new tires and balancing), got the tires on and everything done in under 2 hours! And for a reasonable price! Thanks, guys. I will definitely be recommending you to friends and family.

While I firmly believe my experience was far outside the norm, I was a bit disheartened. I went on for a state inspection, nothing had seemed off about my car. To say that when I was contacted communication was poor, would be an understatement. When I finally got an estimate for the work that was needed I was given a total that far exceeded my means. I picked up my car the following morning with limited time to get it to another garage for a second opinion (the car is new, and the work needed didn't seem right. Turns out they were correct) and also had a meeting at work to get to. I'd forgotten my wallet and check book, I assured the mechanic I would be back as soon as I could to pay for the inspection, and double checked her had all of my correct information. I'd even offered to leave my house keys as collateral. A couple hours later I received a phone call threatening to call "my buddy at the police department" if he wasn't paid by the end of the day. I was on my way to give him a check. I personally felt that was unnecessary and will not be returning. Again, I believe my experience is unusual, I've heard great things in the past and my friend spoke highly of them. So this is more just an FYI for folks. But I don't think I'll be returning with my business after that phonecall.

Car was broke down and we were out of state. Called and owner was very nice and he said they would be fair and only do what they had to. When I got the bill, the charges were WAY over what they should have been as I had two local garages verify. When I was there and asked, the mechanic said, I had to do X which he made to sound like a big job. When I looked on you tube and asked my regular mechanic, it takes literally 5 second, two screws and pull. Do not trust them and go anywhere else in Keene to get your car fixed!!!

Awful. I called them and told them I had an issue with my car. I said im not exactly sure what s wrong with it but I think it could be my alternator or fuel pump. Could you just give me an inspection of everything they not only took two days to diagnose the problem but they charged a ridiculous price to inspect that one issue rather than telling me everything that s wrong with it, not to mention asking for an inspection. I then pay the money I already owed for them having it and looking at it, take it home and order the part that my boyfriend and I fixed in 20 min! That they were trying to charge an extra 600 to fix! Then 2 days later my check engine light comes on for an EVAP leak. Which they should have caught if they were actually looking for the issue. It has nothing to do with my pump.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I am truly sorry for myself and my wallet that I had not found Gary sooner. Referred to me by Jeff Hollingsworth of Keene Drive Line. Also a top notch. Gary brought my 85 Landcruiser back to factory spec and adjusted an out of adjusted carburetor that no one else had a clue about. He is worth every dime and can assure it is done correctly. They even pick up the phone when they find something else needed rather than to surprise me with a bill of unknown. Old school ethics and service. I used G & R for some fabrication work for my tractor. Gary was straightforward and informative. We discussed options and he was clearly sensitive to having the customer not experience excessive costs. The work isn't cheap, but fair and the quality was excellent. Gary totally exceeded my expectations with a very quick turn-around which got my tractor back into plowing service quickly. Nice job Gary and thank you!

I had a problem with my Jaguar. I took it to the Jaguar dealer three different times and each time they couldn't find anything wrong. However, there was something wrong. I took the car to G & R Auto Works. Jason found the problem in less than 30 minutes. He fixed the problem and I have been going back there ( for the past 12 years) whenever I have a car problem. Both of these guys (Jason and Gary) are very knowledgable and do great work. Jason is superb at diagnosing. If you have a foreign car with a problem, take it to these guys. Great service at a reasonable price.

Gary and his crew are great. 96 Land Cruiser (176000 miles) with engine sounds that others identified as all kinds of things. Was looking at needing a new ($10 000!), refurbished, or used engine. Gary was willing to work with me no matter what I decided, but he was pretty sure it was bad rod bearings and explained exactly why. Long story made short, he opened up the bottom of my engine without pulling it, replaced the rod bearings, main bearings, and measured / polished the crankshaft, all for much less money than I was looking at for even my cheapest of other options. He explained everything very clearly and without question he is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. I just passed 1000 miles on the LC since his repairs and my engine is running great. I highly recommend G& R and will be back to see them again.

400,001 miles and a house call!My Civic was 100 miles away from 400,000 mi. and the starter stopped working. I had prolonged the purchase of a new car until I hit the milestone. Gary made a house call to confirm the bad starter, but he also explained to me it might still have some life left in it for one more start. He told me to keep trying it while he listened. He heard faint sounds of life. He said if i couldn't get it started, he would fit me in at the end of the day to make a repair so i could get 100 more miles on the car. After much persistence, it turned over... I drove 100 miles and bought a new car.Thanks for the assist and the house call Gary!

Gary was most helpful with a recent lengthy phone consultation for my Camry which is currently stranded with engine failure. Despite this being my first call to G&R Auto Works, Gary took the time with a complete stranger to help assess the problem and advise on options for repair or replacing the engine. Next step, tow it in for further analysis with full confidence I will be getting the best diagnostics and repairs.

I have been a regular customer of G & R Auto Works for nearly 18 years. I worked side by side with the people there on a restoration which spanned most of that time. I saw the inside of the automotive trade without being a professional, an educational experience, to say the least. I have found the people at G & R to be consistently professional, courteous, honest, and accommodating. From what I have seen, they are the best in the business. Anything of mine will go nowhere else.

Brought my 2002 BMW down with some ABS issues that my regular mechanic could not diagnosis or fix. G&R diagnosed and fixed in a very reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable amount of money. Would highly recommend

Extremely straight-forward and honest with us about repairs to our Volvo. Let us do what was best for US, and not for his business. Very pleasant, knowledgeable, and reputable. Would highly recommend this shop!

The customer service is nice, until you buy or rent something from the owner. Then everything turns into excuses that prevent things that were agreed upon from happening. He eventually brought my things to me that had been in the bay my husband was renting (he fell behind three months due to healthcare issues). He had used a dump truck to do so, and just dumped them in the driveway with no concern to anything that could break-not to mention causing damage to my own vehicle from a hutch that had been placed on top of all my boxes. Speaking of valuables--he cherry picked through my things and took anything of value, a tac I bought my husband and all of his powertools, plus he's keeping a motorcycle that doesn't even belong to him!He's nothing but a scumbag and a scam-artist.

These guys are fantastic. Unreasonably price. Kept me informed through out the repair process. Never tries to upsell or push repairs on you. Very knowledgeable and willing to explain to you.

These guys are super friendly, they turn around quickly and it's just awesome fun to visit the shop for your oil change or inspection and see the restauration projects they have on their lifts.

Highly recommend this place over other places that try to make unnecessary repairs! Numerous times they have done honest work and not tried to do more than was needed! Hard to find a great place like this today
