Dave and the team at Alton Auto are simply the best! My husband and I put our older car through quite the test during our ski trips in the mountains this month and Dave was able to help with any car troubles that arose. From troubleshooting simple trunk closure issues to replacing a damaged ball joint/suspension alignment, Dave s team never missed a beat. Communication was straightforward, prices extremely fair, and they were able to work with us on the timing of repairs. I would give Alton Auto 6 stars if I could! This will certainly be my go-to auto shop in the Alton area. Thank you again for the amazing service!

Dave and the staff at Alton Auto are absolutely the best around. Not only do they go above and beyond for their clients, but their pricing is very fair (often unbeatable!), and Dave is knowledgeable and caring. He will take the time to explain and go over options available, and is very transparent about costs and procedures. Every staff member makes you feel right at home, not to mention a very cute and friendly shop lab Bella to boot! I would highly recommend their services to any of my friends and family.

Well, what can I say? I've got a 2016 dodge city car provided by my employer as a work van. It is a dodge and if that weren't bad enough it is manufactured by Fiat. Apparently power steering pumps are made from unobtainium. He scoured the entire world only to find one used pump available in New York and apparently whoever sold it insisted on walking the pump to New Hampshire as it took 3 months to arrive. It looks like it had spent most its life under a pile of salt. So, after a new steering pump and a brand new transmission at the tune of 7k. The van is running so-so. At least I can make turns without throwing my shoulder out of place. Alton alignment did a fine job. I would highly recommend there shop.

I'm relatively new to the area, so I needed to find a dependable local mechanic-- which can be a challenge. I was fortunate to find Alton Auto, as they did my recent repair right at the cost quoted-- my car is back in the road and running well. I am an 80 year old woman and I had a flat tire today, first time in a very long time. I had my tire changed to my spare which is a donut and where as I need to go home to MA tomorrow I didn t want to drive all the way home on a donut. Alton Auto was recommended to me. I just drove over without calling first and explained what had happened and I was taken right away. They fixed my tire and put it back on my car, charged me next to nothing and sent me on my way! I would recommend them to anybody, they are tops in my book.Thank you for taking such good care of me!!!

I recently had an issue with my ignition coil and was towed to Alton Auto. Dave was very busy and short staffed but was able to fit me in, diagnose the issue, and have a coil and plugs delivered and replaced within a few hours. I live in Maine and was an hour and a half from home. Dave and his crew were efficient and professional with their work and got me back on the road so far from home. I would highly recommend them and wish that they were closer to me and I could use them all of the time.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had a great experience here! I had a nail in my tire and they were able to fix and plug it in about 20 minutes (no appointment). Great customer service and they did not charge me. A great neighborhood business, highly recommend!

We've been taking our vehicles to Alton Auto since we moved here a few years ago.We are so pleased with all of the preventative work and repairs (minor and major) they have done for us. Dave has a great group of mechanics there and I feel confident in their work and appreciate their honest assessments. Also, Caroline is a gem! She is so kind and makes scheduling appointments/pick-ups so easy. So grateful for a reliable mechanic right in town. The owner is a great guy, I had a problem with my Dodge RAM and needed him to fix it the following Monday. He said he had a full schedule but would fit me in as I was from Mass. He didn't end up fixing my truck as I did it my self with tools from someone in my camp ground. Nonetheless, he was VERY accommodating!!!

I had my all season tires taken off and winter tires put on at the beginning of winter. There was no mention that one of the tires had any damage and would be unsafe to drive. I had stored my tires in my garage all winter, scheduled an appointment to have my all season tires put back on and they called to inform me I needed 4 new tires since one of them was damaged. My husband worked as mechanic for 20 years and inspected the tire that is damaged and would only have damage from them either taking it off or attempting to mount it incorrectly. I have a foreign car with low profile tires, I would not recommend anyone to utilize them for this service. No accountability has been taken by Alton Auto Alignment and now I have to purchase 4 new tires due to their mistake. On top of it all, Dave, reacted poorly and was rude when I said I wasn't going to move forward with purchasing 4 new tires from him, totaling around $950. I never write any negative reviews, however, I couldn't let this slide.Service: Tires

The folks here were absolutely wonderful. My battery died on Friday afternoon (I was visiting the area), they acquired the correct battery fit me in before they closed,, and installed it without any hesitation. I totally recommend them.

I walked in for a standard oil change. They got me right in, it was fast and the staff is super friendly and honest! They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and their prices are very competitive. Great place to go!
