My car died about 10 miles north of Wells as I was driving from Las Vegas to Boise. After a horrible experience with the tow truck driver I was nervous about what the mechanic so I googled him and the reviews were all good .if I could give him 10 stars that still wouldn t be enough. Chris and his staff were amazing!!!! I m travel for a family emergency and not only did they fix my car as quickly as possible it they were so kind. If you need a mechanic any where near Wells NV do yourself a favor and use Otto Clinic!!! ThankService: General repairs & maintenance

Paid over $400 for a power steering fix. They had it for months. When I got it back I had zero steering, worse than the howl when it was taken to them. The office staff was rude and treats people like they are 5. The owner was reasonable, saying he would make it right, but never found time to get it in again. Took it to another mechanic and learned that the hose these guys fixed was actually never fixed. So I paid them all this money to just get treated like a 5 year old go somewhere else.

On a road trip from SLC to Oregon, our vehicle started to handle weirdly. Otto Clinic looked at our car and helped us quickly in our time of need, and was very kind about it! Thank you very much.

A great mechanic and wonderful people are at this repair shop in Wells Nevada. My truck was stalling on Interstate 80. We managed to slowly get to Wells on a Sunday evening and called The Otto Clinic the next morning. Chris Otto answered the phone and said he could look at it at 1:00 pm. We managed to get the truck there and it stalled just as we got to the garage. Chris and his staff we all very kind and competent and Chris had it figured out in 30 minutes. He asked me when was the last time I had the truck tuned. I was very embarrassed to say it had been quite sometime. It was a corroded wire form the coil to the distributor. I was so grateful he was able to take his very busy scheduled and make the time to diagnose the problem and get us back on the road. Much much thanks to Mr. Otto and his staff. Compressor died just before Wells. Chris fixed it and kept us posted on cost and time for repair. Car runs great. If you break down on I80, this is the place to get the job done! We drove 1,200 miles in 24 hours to pick up the car. No issues at all. Ignore the one star reviews. Chris is direct, does not mince words, actually does not charge enough, and does great work. We are very pleased! Thanks Chris! The McClellands!

I highly recommend this shop if you are in Wells, NV or close enough to get towed there from I-80. We had brake issues with our F350 Superduty on a trip from CA to CT and he was able to get us in and out of the shop in less than 24 hours. Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient on all fronts. Great to see a small town shop with such a booming business. We lost the transmission on our truck in Wells, Nevada (population about 1500) and I was very concerned about finding a competent mechanic. Luckily our truck was towed to Otto Clinic. Chris does top notch work and definitely knows what he is doing. Fixing our truck was not cheap, but I feel we were treated very well and the price was competitive. Go to Otto Clinic with confidence.

When my compressor went out on 93, I barely made it to the Petro. It was my birthday and Chris had to order the part for my 87 Cadillac from Denver; so I checked in to the Motel 6 and let him take care of it including the oil change and tire rotation it was due for. Made it home to Rupert ID with no worries. I will be a customer for A/C, oil change and tire rotation for a very long time. It's time for service again... maybe I'll see you there.

While heading home to California from Colorado, I experienced a problem with my truck towing my camper. Chris quickly pinpointed a broken wire on the top of the alternator & was able to swap out the alternator & fix the broken wire without having to replace the connector. After that fix, Chris found that the fuel trims were unacceptable at best & led him to replacing the fuel pump. It took a couple of relaxing days in Wells, NV to get us back on the road & we made it without issue to our home in CA. Chris is a true diamond in the rough!! Highly recommend Chris for any routine or emergency repairs.

We blew a turbo on our F350 40 miles south of Wells, NV. We called and they said if we can make it in that day, Cris will look at it. He got us in the next day and had us on the road as soon as the new Turbo was shipped to him. The truck was in his shop for two days and we were back on the road. Great job. Thank you so much.

I went here based on the positive Google maps reviews, and I was not disappointed. My check engine light came on 30 miles north of Wells, so I checked into a hotel and brought my car in as soon as Otto Clinic opened. There is a fee for diagnosing a check engine light (just shy of $50), but it was an easy fix, so Chris had me out in 30 minutes.

August 2015 my RV broke down just outside of Wells. My insurance had it towed to Otto Clinic. Chris did a quick diagnosis and found that there was no fuel pressure. We both agreed that it was probably a bad fuel pump. The ballpark dollar amount to replace a fuel pump is $600 to $800.Chris called me the next day and said it was ready. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that an O2 sensor wire was rubbing against the exhaust and shorted out and caused the PCM to stop sending power to the pump. He handed me the bill for $156.00.Mechanics usually have a bad reputation, but Chris gives the mechanic profession a great name. He could of easily claimed to have replaced the pump and charge me $800, but he did not. Fair, Honest and Trustworthy is what comes to mind when it comes to The Otto Clinic.

His shop was jam-packed, yet he took the time to fix mine. More than five stars. Thanks Chris. He ran a scan on my truck and fixed the problem. He did not try to run up the tab on anything else. To me was very honest and very professional. Period. Yes I highly recommend his service

Chris Otto is absolutely the best and most honest mechanic you could find anywhere. I've lived in a lot of places across the U.S. and have had bad experiences with most other mechanics, especially at auto dealerships which charge two times as much as Chris. We have two trucks that were having constant issues from other mechanics doing very poor quality work. Chris was able to fix their mistakes quickly and for a lot less than the other repair shops were charging. The only reason we didn't take our trucks to Chris in the first place were because the other shops offered payment plans, while Chris requires payment up front. My advice is to not fall for other auto repair shop's interest free payment plans because you will still end up paying more to fix their mistakes and have the inconvenience of constantly having your vehicle broke down and in the shop.

I left Salt Lake City for a weekend trip to San Francisco in my 1989 Lincoln sedan, having had it recently worked on including a brake job and feeling very good about the condition of the car. I had just passed Battle Mountain when the car started vibrating, shaking, and acting weird. Then I lost part of my brakes. I turned around and tried to limp the crippled car back to Salt Lake, but could go not further than Wells. Having broken down with two other cars years ago in Wells, I drove straight to the garage that helped me years ago. It's under new management now, but they immediately told me I had not only burnt out the bearing, but ruined the steering spindle. This was on a Thursday. They located a yard in Nampa, Id. that had three of those Lincolns. They bought the spindle and told me it would take until Teusday about 1:30 to get it shipped and do the repair and it would be about $500. I set up in the local Motel 6 and spent nearly a week just resting and taking long walks. They called me on Teusday just like they said they would, and they had the car ready at 1:30 just like they said they would, and as the lady had driven me to the Motel 6, she offered me a ride back, which I declined to get the excersize of walking. They presented me with a bill of $520, the overage being state tax. They did everything they said they would, when they said they would, and stuck to the quoted price. They gave me priority due to my circumstances and were kind, honest, hospitable, and great to work with in every way. I would recommend them to anyone anytime. These are good. honest, friendly, and dependable people. I left Wells soon after, having been well treated by both Car Clinic and the Motel 6 and arrived home without further incident 3 hours later. If you have to have a breakdown, have it in Wells and go to the Car Clinic. Thank you, Chris and crew. Jon Perry, Salt Lake City, Utah

On our way to Ely Nevada, our "check engine" light came on. We had already passed through Wells, turned around and drove back. Stopped at Otto Clinic. Chris Otto, the owner, came to our rescue. He put his diagnostic meter on our car, and within minutes, told us it was a thermometer over heating. He had us up and on our way again, in 20 minutes! His charge, $42.50, not bad for peace of mind. Highly recommend this honest, hardworking businessman. The Craigs from Boise, Idaho.

These guys are quick, accommodating and professional. Chris figured out the problem and how to fix it within minutes. We stayed one night in town waiting for the part and got the car back the next day. Wells is lucky to have such a rad mechanic in town.

What makes a good mechanic is someone who is honest in their prices and their work. I didn't plan on stopping in Wells, Nevada until my car's alternator gave out on the freeway.I called both mechanics in town to see if either of them had the part available. The first shop (Pruett Tire Factory) knew we were desperate and tried to charge us $700 for a new alternator and installation.Otto Clinic quoted me almost $500 cheaper for the part and installation. Unfortunately, however, there were no alternators in stock in Wells, Nevada, so we had to order one from Elko. When the part came, someone had placed a used alternator into the box and return it. I feel like a lot of mechanics wouldn't of said anything and just put it on the car. But the guys at Otto Clinic actually drove all the way back to Elko to pick up the right part, and then fixed my car immediately.Otto Clinic is an honest mechanic with fair prices who made time for my car, even though they were swamped with work. I couldn't recommend them more.

I had a problem with my Def on my diesel and limped into Wells, NV not thinking I would be able to get any quality help anywhere. Chris went above and beyond for me, got me back on the road in no time at all and gave me extremely good service. Highly recommend if your passing through and have any car or truck problems at all.

My Radiator blew about 10 miles outside of Wells, last saturday. AAA towed me, and I left my car in their capable hands, they got me fixed up and back on the road at an honest price. Good honest people!!

These guys were amazing!! Helped me when a piece of firewood went through my grill and took out my radiator (I know, right?) These guys not only helped me with my truck, but to figure out finding parts and a rental. Best service ever!!

Was traveling through and fuel pump went out, even though the shop was busy they were able to work with me to get me back on the road in minimal time. All members of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Shop rates are reasonable and I would recommend this repair shop to any.

Had a truck break down and got it towed to Otto Clinic. The staff there was so patient and kind as we sorted out what to do with the truck.. honest folks there- highly recommend.

I called needing a coolant hose fixed, once he new what hose it was I was told it would be a 3-4 hr job and it s a pain. Then he hung up on me, I thought it may have been a mistake and called back it rang once then went straight to voicemail. My experience just on the phone with this gentleman was very unprofessional and rude I wouldn t trust them with my vehicle.

Chris was able to diagnose the issue quickly and had the parts in early the next morning and had me back on the road with in 2 hours.
