The guys are honest and they are blunt with is about the condition of your car (this is good). They have shown me that they they are not repairing your my car just to make money and it doesn't matter what happened to the car later. No, they tell you once they got the diagnosis of they car repair it or not.

I will never bring my car back, and I am advising everyone I can to avoid this shop. I'd been coming here several years up to this pointI'm very regular with maintenance (2x yearly) and to be told that we are negligent in any regard is insulting. This is disheartening especially given that every time we ask Phil what else we need to do and is there anything concerning to be looked at while fully prepared to pay and keep the car in tiptop condition.The experience here is incredibly frustrating, my wife will call to itemize a full list of things we wish done to the car on bringing it in, and on drop off they will either not remember the conversation or will leave items previously discussed off the service altogether. I'm willing to repeat the list a few times, and while frustrating as a common experience, it wasn't bad service at least and didn't give me reason to leave this review in the past.Our last service was the worst service to date, and is why I'm leaving this review. Our car needed the front end disassembled but was returned with cracked interior pieces, grease on our steering wheel and center console, wires ripped and left on the floor or hanging from the roof. Just overall very rough.At every phone call we were told different stories, then passed off to different people because we were frustrated about the experience. On pickup, the front person handling keys told my wife several times after she'd asked for keys to stop being emotional and rouned back with why we ruined our car. I'm over it.

Been here a few times for various repairs or diagnostics. They do a good job at answering all questions and communicate a lot up front. I did have an instance of being quoted one price, and then it was about 15% more in the end, without permission. I gave them another chance afterwards and was happy about the service, and have been since.

Phil and Ian did a fantastic job quickly diagnosing and fixing my problem. The new battery was a little expensive, but their excellent customer service and impressive knowledge got me back on the road as soon as possible!

Phil and his crew are the most kind and honest mechanics I ve ever met!!! What could have turned out costing me hundreds of dollars to replace a punctured tire ended up only costing me the price of patching up my tire. These guys went the extra mile to make sure my tire was repairable before having a new tire delivered to their station. I would highly recommend this place over any service station in the Reno area any day of the week!!!

Criminally underrated judging by my two experiences stopping by this shop cause I was worried about my car.You can tell Phil specifically loves his trade and loves to help out. I went to three other nearby auto shops and the mechanics refused to even talk to me let alone have a quick look under my hood and they weren t even as busy as you were. Thank you for looking at my car even though you were busy. It took two minutes of your time but you can t believe how many other mechanics nearby refused to do that. It means a lot that good genuine people like you are out there trying to help and treating regular folks as people and friends and not necessarily paying customers.

Our tire blew in the middle of a cross-country roadtrip and the guys here were able to get us in for a replacement first thing in the morning. They were incredibly kind & comforting, which was especially appreciated after such a stressful day before. The tires were very affordable and they ran a diagnostic for free, which was great for our peace of mind for the rest of our trip. Definitely stop here if you find yourself in Reno.

Phil was so kind and helpful troubleshooting on the phone when I was 30 mins out of Reno. Looked up the make and model of my car and looked through common issues it has. Walked me through everything I needed to do and didn t charge me at all. Totally phenomenal guy, would 100% recommend

I had a low front tire and had to be at my destination in 3 hours. First guy I talked to said it would be at least 2-1/2 hrs but he would talk to the boss. The boss just understood my situation and got me right in. A special thanks to Phil for making it happen. When I get to Reno again I will stop and say hi. Please patronize this business.

Wow what an amazing experience! Called with a punctured tire problem, women who answered the phone said she would take a look at it! I said I would be there in 5 minutes as I was only a few miles away! I arrive in about 5 minutes to find the place closed! This is a Union 76 station with the Car Care and Tire Center! I thought this has to be a mistake I just spoke to someone! I called the number again and while standing in front I could hear the phone ringing! The only conclusion I can make based on the tone of the woman I spoke to is they desperately did not want to fix the tire! They locked up as quick as they could hit the closed sign and split! Someone might say maybe they had an emergency and had to leave, I would say while possible it is highly unlikely! Also I pulled into the next parking lot and while trying to find another tire shop the gas station/ tire center reopened after about 20 minutes from when I told them I would be there! There was no note on the door, open sign was off! All they had to do was tell me they couldn't look at the tire on Sunday! I would like to use some very colorful language, but Google would not post my review! If I could buy this pathetic excuse for a business I would just so I could fire the employee I spoke with!Went to Costco which was amazing even though the were very busy, 10.75 fixed and on the road! Lots of big business are run badly, lots of small mom and pop businesses are run very well! In this case Costco is one of the business that is amazingly well run and this obviously independently owned union 76 station was just terrible! I normally love union 76 stations, the corporately owned ones are well managed!

Apparently they'll charge hundreds of dollars more than they quoted you because they made a managerial decision that my engine and cabin filters need to be replaced. Weird....because I replaced them 6 months ago. They never called and charged me for things I NEVER asked for and didnt need replaced. Thanks for the scam, Phillip!

Went for a smog, my engine light is on and was told that I failed, charged me $30 and informed me that there are problems with my engine. The attendant asked me where I got my last change oil and then procedeed to say, "they probably used cheap oil and it destroyed your engine. Repairs would be costly. You might need a new car now." They want to charge me $120 for diagnostics cause "it is dangerous to drive my car with the engine light on." I must say I was very anxious but declined and informed them I will ask for a second opinion and come back. Our trusted mechanic told me there is nothing wrong with my engine - the sensors simply needed to be replaced. He replaced the sensors and the engine light is off. Cost: $100 including labor.This place is a ripoff. And based on other people's reviews, they will destroy your car and make costly repairs. Do not come here. I was glad I seeked out a second opinion.

Terrible! They broke more on my car then they fixed. Charged me $900+ for it. Told me my car is a piece of s***t. Which it never was until their shoddy work.

My truck needed a new alternator and A/C diagnosis/recharge. They were very thorough and prompt, solved both problems, and the cost was quite reasonable. Even called me back after a few days to make sure everything was OK.

I love this place. I had my car towed thinking it was the starter and I told them to replace the starter and alternator at the same time because they sometimes go out one right after the other. I got a call in an hour and was told it was just the battery. Most other places would have replaced the starter and alternator anyway. The honesty sold me!

Greatest, Most Honest, Mechanic shop in town!!!!! This is the type of place you drop your OEM (not hevily modified) car off, Let them know the maximum you're comfortable spending and let them call you when it's ready. Sierra Car Care is just trying to help you get over the pass safely or when you're back from the pass making sure you didn't put excessive wear on parts which can cause catastrophic problems in the future. Steep grades (going over mountains) are very strenuious on cars. Sierra Car Care can do straight part replacements for a bargain as well but, do not attempt to diagnose your own car. It is best to let them deal with it. That lesson cost me $200 but they did the job I requested promptly for the best price in town. They will diagnose and fix the most important things to replace first. These mechanics are Honest and Passionate about what they do. If you want Knowledgable, Phil will likely know a specialist in town who can do a less routine repair than he can. Sierra Car Care are the Doctors of the I-80 Pass!

The guys here did an excellent job in fixing the "rattle" in my car at a very reasonable price. They also finished it very quickly, so that I could go about the rest of my day. My auto repair was a straightforward fix (exhaust heat shield came loose--->"rattle"), but I will come here in the future if I have another car issue. Thanks!

Great locally owned business, staff and technicians know what they are doing. However either drop your car off and come back later or bring a good book. Often times there is only one person doing everything. They have to stop working on your car to help customer walk ins, phone calls, requests for propane fill ups, etc.

This place is a scam you ll go in with a single problem and for some crazy reason a week later have a 900$ problem. And it all starts with an oil change. They are more than happy to give you a huge list of things that are wrong with your Car/Truck even tho when you brought it in it was running fine.This place is a LIE! They dont care about your car they care about your pocket book.

The ONLY positive thing I can say about this place is that they will take a look at your car for free and don't charge a diagnosis fee.That being said... DO NOT bring your car here! I brought my car in for a power steering issue, where my car was making a grinding noise when I turned my wheel. They put my car up on the lift and maybe took two looks at it before mandating that I get a new power steering pump and rack, which is $1,000 worth of repairs. I took it somewhere else to get it looked at, and it turns out I just needed a new o-ring and the repair was $150. THIS PLACE WILL TRY AND ROB YOU! I am extremely dissatisfied with the service they presented, especially because they tried to take advantage of me (being someone who doesn't know much about car repairs). Such a shame that so many mechanic shops try to rob you blind these days.

Terrible customer service, terrible people. Crooks. Their customer base are mechanically challenged individuals a for a reason- they'll rip you off. I asked them a question about my car and the odd guy got all defensive, then I had to wait an extra 45 minutes. Woo. Good job, you really showed me. Then my oil filter was leaking oil, I hadn't touched it in 2 months.

They are liars trying to cheat people out of money. I took my car their because the AC was making an odd noise and they said my blower motor was broken and it would cost $300 to fix. My husband took a look at it and all it was was napkins that had got sucked up from my glove box. Once my husband took them out everything was working fine

I had a 9am appointment for an oil change. When arrived, they said it would take an hour (which seems long for an oil change). Two hours later, it was done. And, it cost $20 more than they told me it would. I could have driven to Sparks and it would have cost me $55 LESS!Too long and too much... I'm NOT impressed!

Brought my car in due to my left rear tire losing tire pressure frequently. Went there after a 12 hour shift, dropped my car and had to use uber to go home. Guy who took me in the front desk said they'll check the rest of the tires too.Got a call at noon saying there was nothing wrong with my tires, that they even ran soap and water in it to find a whole and there was none, they just added air. Picked up my car at 4pm by uber, the tire pressure warning was still on. $0 charge. Checked my tire pressure in a gas station, 32 in the front, 40 to the right rear, 20 to the left rear. Obviously, they checked the wrong tire and placed more air than necessary, and they did not check the other ones like they said they were. It was a waste of time and money to go here, specially after a 12 hour night shift.Fixed: 0Wasted: $30 uber ride

I had a deflating tire and decided to come to this store. I was helped by Brindalyn and she was amazing. She found the puncture and patched my tire very quickly. She is very professional, sweet, and was fast at her work. Great experience and I would recommend.

The crew at Sierra Car Care went above and beyond. Thank you so much for basically rebuilding my ancient automobile and getting it to pass smog! My mechanic loved one :-)is going through cancer treatment and can't turn a wrench right now. You guys are Awesome!!! XOXO Lori Speers

Recommended by a friend/neighbor who grew up in Reno. I had front struts replaced on a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. Larry was most helpful and the staff seemed very professional. Very happy with their service.

Everyone I spoke with here was understanding and wanted to make sure I was satisfied at the end of the day. They were flexible with my schedule and did their work as fast/best they could. I came in for an alignment and they redid it twice to make sure it was how it needed to be. Thanks for the work guys
