I h aa D the unpleasant experience of breaking a softail shock bolt while in a tight corner, the bike dropped & skidded on the Strader Exhaust pipes I had on the bike, rashing the lower pipe & sending me into the oncoming lane in front of a sedan , gratefully he was watching closely & no collision occurred. I limped into Reno after several hours with a broken exhaust flange at the head. I tried to hold the pipe against the head to avoid damage to my expensive aluminum hi flo heads. I was afraid to look. After hydration was completed for the time being, we were referred to Shoemans where I chose a set of Vance & Hines & had them installed. Also had my bike Dyno tested. Found it takes $$ to make power on an Evo Great bunch of guys, no BS, in & out quickly. Bought a T as well. It s 24 years since then & the pipes are a good example of great workmanship. I ve gained a bit since that trip, I wonder if they have a 3XL in stock, lol. We put on 12,000 KM in 14 days on that trip From Northern Canada to ND to California & back to Fort St John BC. Lots of fun!

Great service and great people! Fit me in after bad weather shut me out of my first service date. Rode 4 hrs to get there to have them install a tuner and dyno my bike. Got it done in a day as promised!

they have been working with me on my shovelhead project as best as they can. covid/these days are rough in sourcing parts.i m glad i went with them. bones helps out every way possible, dan works hard on the bikes and cares about the work he does, and shoeman offers fantastic solutions to old bike problems and gives great ideas.i love working with them, and you will too. don t think twice.

The only place I could find that didn't balk at the question... "Can you make a brake cable?"They spent almost 2 hours, finding and fabricating all the right bits and pieces to make both new brake cables, front and rear, for a '71 Sears/Roper.... Not a brake cable that you can just buy.Great service, super friendly, took the time to make damn sure it was exactly right. Not to mention, I think they just might be the only place in Reno, that can make custom cables.Service: Brake service & repair

Shoeman's got my old shovelhead tuned up and running better than ever. I was ready to purchase a new carburetor and they diagnosed the problem I was having with the one I had. Everyone was very friendly and professional. They completed the work in less time than I was expecting and saved me several hundred $$. Thanks again to everyone there.

I own a 2000 HD Softail. Shoeman is the best motorcycle mechanic in Reno hands down!! If you don't want to get ripped off by Harley and need a real mechanic that knows what he's doing, call Shoeman! Been taking my bikes here for years! I have been stuck a few times but Shoeman will always drop what he's doing to come and give a tow as well and it's far cheaper than a regular tow!Gets the right parts, knows what he's doing and always gets me back on the road! Plus he's got a cool bar to hang in while you wait!I won't go anywhere else! Thanks Shoeman!

Saved us from being stranded!!! Street Vibrations had just ended and we needed a tire mounted on our bike to get home. Everyone was closed. I called this place and by chance they answered and agreed to stay open until we got there. They mounted our new tire in a matter of minutes for a fraction of what they could have charged us and we were on our way home. Sure, it's not one of those over clean, nice smelling mechanics that you'd feel comfortable sending your grandma to.... But they get the job done and at a great price. If you feel uncomfortable in a dive bar......dont go here.... Although you'll be missing out on a great find!!

I was on a ride through reno on Friday of Labor day weekend when my clutch went out, I called harley dealer after harley dealer and they all told me that they couldn't get the parts until the next week and couldn't help me put it back together until weeks later. After all of those discouraging phone calls i made a call to Shoeman's, not only did they have the parts I needed to get me back on my way, the owner also said he would come to the hotel I stayed at, pick up my bike, tow it to his shop, and fix it all in the same day and on his day off. Saturday my bike was picked up and fixed just as promised. I can not give enough thanks to Shoeman's Custom Cycle for all the effort that was put into getting g me safely back on my way and not taking advantage of me and my wallet when I was in need. After this amazing experience I now travel the 4 hours to reno whenever I need something done on my bike and I don't mind the drive because I know that my bike will be fixed right the first time by someone with the knowledge experience and care that is required to work on motorcycles.

The customer service is on point. They took the time needed to make sure I got all the right parts for the correct price. Even answered all my questions I had about repair steps. Better than 5 stars.

Place is a mess! Everything is covered in dust and tools are scattered all over. The workers can t even find what they need half the time. Not to mention they ruined and engine cover that was freshly vapor blasted by getting grease all over it after asking to be cautious. Not a place to take your things if you expect quality workmanship

Okay two stars for this place. we've been to a million harley shops and this place doesn't compare; not even close. We figured going to a custom cycle shop they would know their stuff. They had 2 people working the counter. Both were completely lost as to what we needed and asked for. The store could use a huge facelift and the employees could use a few motorcycle books to learn a bit about the products they have on their shelves. They should be able to look at the part and know what bike it will work with. Or at least know how the item functions.

The guys are nice enough but they didn't do the services they were asked to complete, though they billed me anyway. Oil change wasn't done, or if it was they used the wrong amount of oil because it was almost completely devoid of oil within 500 miles. Exhaust wasn't fixed properly, came loose, and was leaking within 500 miles of being serviced for the exhaust leak. Dropped over $500 there and they only part they got right was the choke, spark plugs/wires, and the carb rejetting. Will not ever do business with them again.

Like the experience of viewing bikes from any era or having a drink in a relaxed atmosphere, or even having your bike brought back to the condition it once possessed, just make sure you visit the 4th and lake area of Reno.

Seemed nice. But he didn't even know what a Victory motorcycle was. Thought it was a Japanese brand. Pricing a bit high too. But not the most expensive by far.

Shoeman knows his Harleys. This is a real biker shop and I wouldn't recommend going inside with an attitude or flip flops. If you can't change your own oil you shouldn't be riding a hog period. They got my thunderbolt lights working again in less than 20 minutes. Just don't like the location or would be five star

You should form your own opinion, but the real Harley place is busy for a good reason. He had an oil special that was just OK, but don't let them work on your bike
