I visited Rick's Total Car Care for an oil change after purchasing a Groupon deal. While my previous experience with them hadn't been great, I decided to give them another chance under new ownership. Initially, everything seemed fine, but I noticed some oil drops on my driveway afterward. Concerned, I scheduled an appointment to have it checked.Harold, the technician, was fantastic. He not only identified the issue a leaking crankshaft seal but also took the time to explain it to me in detail. He even showed me the exact spot under my truck where the leak originated. Throughout the process, both Harold and Lesly, the receptionist, maintained excellent communication.What truly impressed me was their honesty and transparency. They were upfront about the cost, labor, and parts involved, making me feel in control of the situation. As a female customer, this level of honesty is invaluable and unfortunately rare in the automotive industry. I'm grateful for their integrity and for not taking advantage of a new client.Thanks to their efficient service, my truck was fixed within a day and a half. Because of this positive experience, I'll gladly recommend Rick's Total car care to anyone in need of a trustworthy mechanic. I'm even considering entrusting them with any big projects I can't fix on my own.Thank you, Rick's Total car care, for restoring my faith in auto repair services. Keep up the excellent work!

I actually really like this place. I always get my oil changes here. I am getting one done Monday and I know it will be a wonderful interaction because it always is. I thought I left a review here before but I guess I didn't. I'm glad I'm going through my visited places. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Always so polite

I highly recommend Rick's total car care. They are fast and efficient. I usually do so my own repairs, i know good work when i see it. I will be going back and taking all my vehicles for work i can't do myself.

Ok shop. Bought a Groupon and still was charged extra. Get out of Groupon if you won't respect what it says on your offer!!

Went to this place based on Groupon and I don t think I ll use their services again. Paid $10 extra for oil disposal, asked for a tire rotation and that wasn t done. I was also told my fluids were going to be topped off and that didn t get done either. When I got my receipt it also started that it was the blend oil when I asked and paid for full synthetic. What they actually did and didn t is up in the air and I don t like feeling that way with my vehicle. Thanks but no thanks.Service: Oil change

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!!! New owners are total rip offs!! They replace parts that aren t broken and don t honor warranty of their work!! Their repair lasted less than two weeks before same issue occurred again and they REFUSED to fix it with charging me a second time!!!

Rick is amazing. My sister and my Mom recommended Ricks Total Car care to me. My first time ever visiting today and he was very professional and nice to me. He was thorough and explained things very well. He did not try and take advantage of me. Armando did great on my oil change and was very friendly. It's nice to go to a place and know that you aren't being taken advantage of because your a woman. I will be coming back again and will recommend Ricks to anyone.Service: Oil change

Great guys that not only did their work quickly, but also thoroughly. They quickly figured out what was wrong with my car after multiple other mechanics couldn't figure it out. They gave me a fair price and didn't try to pull one over on me like some mechanics will try. I was greatly impressed, will be back and highly recommend.

Came in for an oil change and they were friendly and quick. Later, I ended up having an issue with my car and needed some work done. They gave me a really good price and assisted me with all my questions and needs. The employees always give me information straight up and in detail. Ricks Total Car Care have serviced my aging vehicle several times. Great friendly local business. Affordable prices with quality work. Will be retuning soon for needed brake work. I was very impressed with service I received at Rick's. I had a Groupon for oil change and tire rotation. The service was quick and efficient and way less expensive than my previous oil change I had done on my car at Tires Plus and I have a credit card with Tires Plus. I will be taking my car back for more services when and if needed. My van was acting up on our way home to Oregon. I had a feeling it was the Catalytic Converter. My friend started to call places and we went with Rick's, as he would see our problem right away. The other place we called was rude on the phone with my friend. So we arrived, they did a FREE Diagnostics, showed us on their state of the art screen that shows what is wrong with your vehicle. Sure enough, it was the catalytic converter. We would need a new one. He said he'd have it done by end of the day, but his only worker was sick and he didn't want to overwhelm him, so he asked us if we could spend the night and he would pay for it. (A motel) Wow, Just wow, that was so generous of him and he put us first while having other priorities. As we were travelers with a young child, three dogs, and older gentlemen. So all in all, the van was done the next day by afternoon and we were off to home. Rick is a very nice man, very knowledgeable, he and his worker worked hard to get it done fast, even a piece that they couldn't get, they were able to fix it to work. Van is running smooth and I highly recommend Rick's Total Car Care. He will be forthright with you. He truly was a blessing for us, so glad we had him service us.Service: Exhaust

I was super lucky to have these guys as the first place I took my car when I moved to Reno. As others have said, prices are super affordable, the staff are friendly and professional and do great work!The waiting room is comfy too.Oil changes come with tire rotation and fluid top-up in the price.I don't plan on taking my car anywhere else!

Attempted to use a Groupon on Friday. They have 2 bays. There did not appear to be any staff at work in either. Perhaps I came during lunch. Walk-in was not possible but I was offered an appt. the following Monday as they are not open on weekends. I would suggest calling ahead before making the effort. Probably not be the best choice if you are looking to get an oil change same day.

They were just sitting down watching tv with no shoes now and then they had a jr mechanic working on the problem and the sr mechanic should have done it from the beginning not the best then they didn't plug air tides back in and they left a part just hanging there. First automotive care place I've been to that follows the schedules they set, follows the pricing they set, don't try to upcharge you, and are just straight shooters all around. My first experience here thanks to Groupon, and I'm going to be coming back again and again. Every other oil change I've gotten through Groupon, the place had a reason to throw on add'l charges (despite me being very careful about following maintenance schedules exactly). James was super friendly, and the whole experience actually left me feeling good.Went again today, and same experience as before. Timely, informative, honest, and up front. James is awesome, and I really love this place.

Absolutely do not go here!! They are liars, unprofessional and honestly need to be shutdown. Will be contacting BBB. They lied about rotating my tires, I marked them so I would know. I ve never had such terrible customer service in my life. Also they try to charge disposal fees without disclosing it in their Groupon.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Bought a Groupon for the oil change and called to make an appointment. Was on hold for 15 minutes listening to the staff get annoyed with another customer, telling him "Well, I know what I'm talking about so I dont know what to tell you" before the staff proceeded to discuss the fact they've had apparent ongoing issues with the customer and his truck. Never had the staff answer the phone and had to call back to schedule service, at which point the person who answered the phone was fairly rude and seemed annoyed I was calling. I cancelled the Groupon, will not be going for the appointment, and will be sure to share this experience with anyone willing to listen. Worst service.

I absolutely do not recommend this place. I took my truck in for a simple fix, boss made it seem like it was something out of the ordinary. Was told it would be fixed by the end of the day. A day goes by and it wasn't even touched. I didn't give any attitude, when I simply asked, when will my truck be done? Was immediately told, with an attitude, "we'll call you when it's done! If you don't like that, come pick up your truck, it doesn't matter to us." Besides the A Hole attitude, he also rudely hangs up the phone. Waste of a day I could have used to have my truck repaired elsewhere. I then picked up my truck and took it somewhere where my business is appreciated and my truck repaired the same day. No thanks to Ricks.

Went in for the Groupon oil change. That included oil change and tire rotation. Service tech said there was many other things wrong with my vehicle. I declined any other service and tech Did not finish service completely. When asked about the service they proceeded to ignore me and not complete the task. Very unprofessional I do not recommend this place.

I was feeling unhappy with my usual car care spot and thought I would take a chance with Rick's after buying a groupon for an oil change and tire rotation. I am so glad I did! Super friendly staff-my son and I had to wait there due to it being the middle of the week and not having a ride. One of the mechanics bought my son a juice box while out on a snack run and they were overall just pleasant to be around. They engaged in decent conversation and just seemed very kind which is not something you typically encouter at mechanic's shops. My car does require an additional service beyond the oil change and, rather than freaking me out with every bad thing that could happen like if I don't attend to the service immediately like some other places may do, I was simply offered a quote and thanked for my business. What a breath of fresh air! I will be coming back for anything my car will need and am recommending them to everyone who will listen. Thanks guys!

I had a water pump go out on my Pick up truck, I called around to a few shops my friends recommended and the quotes were $500 - $800 and 3 to 5 days to complete. Called Rick's and the quote was a little less than the lowest I had received and they did it that day. Very happy I will recommend to all my friends/family.

Groupon... First time here with an appointment. My appointment was at 9am and they didn t get me in until 9:35am. Only one person working there then another employee shows up late and is cranky... The guy that was late calls me a liar behind my back to the mechanic in Spanish and I heard him. He said I was a liar because he asked me how my breaks were and I told him they MIGHT be good. Aside from that, cheap prices on Groupon . Don t recommend this place though because of poor customer service.

Rick and his guys were great ! My old school buddies and l pretty much fried all the electronics in my Nissan Frontier while trying to fix it . After realizing that we were out of our league l had my truck towed to Rick's .Rick stayed in touch with me to let me know step by step what was going on and got my truck running again at a very fair price.I for one highly recommend Rick's ..good guys , fair prices !
