After some home modifications gone wrong on my 2018 VW Atlas, I called several mechanics in town only to be turned down, until I found Spencer and Reno Buggy Barn. After explaining our situation, Spencer was the most helpful person I talked to all day. He was understanding of our predicament and genuinely wanted to help us and even took it upon himself to proactively call the dealership to see how much the replacement part would cost. He was proactive in ordering the part we needed and put a lot of trust in us by ordering the part and not asking for any money down. They were able to not only repair our vehicle but also complete our aftermarket modifications that other shops refused to touch because of the customer ordered parts and it being an at-home project gone wrong. This would have been a flawless 5/5 rating, however, after driving the vehicle around for a few days, we noticed some clunking in the area where the repair had been made. I promptly called Spencer and scheduled another appointment but in the meantime my husband inspected each bolt and found one not to be torqued to the correct specification. This resolved the issue so I cancelled my appointment and Spencer offered a discounted service in the future because of the error. All in all, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning to Reno Buggy Barn when the need arises on our VW because of the great customer service and highly knowledgeable owner.

Spencer the owner of Reno Buggie Barn did an amazing job on my new little commuter VW Golf GTI. He had the car less than a week and got it running again. He explained everything that was wrong and was up front with pricing. I will definitely be going back to him when needed.

We noticed a leak in our garage from under our Volkswagen Eos, and contacted Spencer at Reno Buggie Barn. We had our car towed to his shop, and he contacted us explained what he found along with an estimate. He fixed the problem, and we asked if he did other makes of cars or only VW. We took our other (non VW) to him and he called us a few hours later with the diagnosis. He fixed both of our cars. Spencer was friendly, courteous and we will definitely go to him for future repairs.

My wife loves her Bug. We were having some issues with it and took it to Reno Buggie Barn to sort things out.They got us right in (rare these days), very courteous and informative on the phone. The work was done on time (rare these days), the price was fair, and my wife couldn't be happier to have her little Lucy back in proper working order.Highly recommend.Services: Carburetor cleaning, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Oil change

Spencer has done work on our 87 Westfalia Vanagon in the past. When ready to bring the van out of retirement and restore the entire drive train and suspension from engine to radiator (BIG job), we knew we would take it to Reno Buggie Barn. Before Spencer started the work he gave us an itemized list with pricing. When he found something else that needed repaired/replaced he sent pics, saved the part for us to see, and gave us rationale for the repair. We were always welcome to drop by to see the progress being made and we were not hit with any surprises at the end. Thank you, Spencer and Cameron! You are professional, honest, and truly passionate about what you two do.

This was the first store in reno I went to inquiring and buying vw parts from , when restoring my bug and Im glad I did. Never had been there and can say after over a year and a half of coming pretty often here this. Had a Motor Built 1641CC Dualcarb so far excellent with comfortable reliable safe power and very nice torque. Price for the build was beyond reasonable and even honoring his work if any issues arise during the first break in period. Spencer and his crew/son have been beyond helpful Scott for labeling the jtubes # I bought. Spencers even given me a step by step on how to install my axle tube seals. Thrown me a clutch alignment tool for free for purchase with the new flywheel setup various other misc small items, key to finish it right installation wise. Constantly gives pointers if needed or offers to do the work for you at a fair reasonable time frame/price. They have a vast variety of all years bug parts ovals too if your not looking for purist/oem items on certain things. Even if you forget the items technical term he will know within reason what your talking about. This has been the most honest, reliable, fair priced and just pleasurable shop to go to. Compared to any other shops and not many in Reno around. Buggie Barn is the place to go to and will be when it comes to my Local VW Parts needs, only exception ordering things online if they do not carry certain not common items. Will post pictures of my build to include w this review. Tired of there not being accurate and recent reviews of good stores.

Spencer the owner is hands down the best mechanic I have ever worked with. He is very calm and amazing at explaining everything that is happening with your car. I have an 85 vanagon that he has now redone my stick shift assembly, replaced my gas tank, and rebuilt the entire front end. All in an amazing timely manner. Unmatched customer service here.

We've used the Reno Buggy Barn for years for my daughter's 2003 VW Golf. We always receive honest, expert service at a very fair price. Their diagnostics are quick and accurate; turnaround times are prompt. For example, we recently needed an urgent repair. My daughter was visiting from out of town and the day she was to leave her radiator fluid was low. We took it to the Reno Buggy Barn to have it topped off. When we arrive and popped the hood, radiator fluid had spattered all over the engine--clearly something was wrong. Spencer determined right away that a valve in the cooling system had gone bad. He was able to obtain the needed part and make the necessary repair within a few hours and get my daughter on her way. The car has been running great ever since. Our poor Westy was parked for a good 8 years. Spencer and team brought it back to life and we are very excited. Spencer is incredibly knowledgeable about all things VW, helpful and thoughtful in his work and communication .. I was traveling through Reno with my 1973 VW Bus when trouble began. I called the Buggy Barn to see if they could fit me in their schedule. I had to stay a couple nights, but Spencer, the owner found some time for my bus. He had my bus up and running great by early afternoon! Spencer was very nice and helpful.

Spencer was amazing. I m driving cross country to the east coast and my clutch pedal started acting up. The guys here took great care of me, got me back on the road as quickly as possible and communicated everything.

These guys are great! Super friendly, genuine, and honest. I sensed integrity in this crew right away. I dropped in while on the road, unwittingly interrupted their lunch break, and they helped address the minor fix needed for my Vanagon right away. Definitely recommend them as VW professionals. Take your rig to the Reno Buggie Barn!

I dont have a ton of money and Spencer knows that, he never makes me feel like it though. I call him way too much,he's cool with it. He never makes me think it annoys him even if it might . I called from the side of the road yesterday . Bad fuel pump . He gave me instruction and let me send a buddy to pick it up and he didn't take payment over the phone like I would have been happy to do. He said he'd see me next week. That's how he said it ." No that's ok, I'll see you next week" I screwed up the timing and ultimately had to have him look at it this morning . He just called and said its good to go. 60 bucks. I must of called him 10 times with questions on the side of the road yesterday. Can't be happier with my mechanic . Spencer is my vw beetles best friend.

The owner of buggies barn was up front he fix my high beams and the vw runs great the best it ever did. Buggies barn has business all the time. Who ever owns a vw take it to buggies barn.

I first started taking my '68 type 1 to Randy 40 years ago. I'm now taking my '65 to his son Spencer and frankly, I'm speechless. I will not take my car anywhere else. Like they say, if you don't own one, you won't understand!!
