The people at Mike s automotive were friendly and supportive during our visit. They were able to take care of us and even found additional issues that needed attention. They were able to fix those other issues during that trip. I would recommend Mike S automotive in Reno, Nevada to anyone needing a automotive repair facility that they can trust and feel confident in the service provided.

My first impression walking in and speaking with a couple of the mechanics was professionalism and great attitudes. I've seen other people's positive experiences posted and look forward to adding more positivity to this site after my vehicle service next week.

I had a flat tire on my way from Portland to Reno on September 18th. No spare tire. I was stranded. A local good Samaritan stopped to help. He took me and my wheel to Mike's. My tire had a tube that needed a patch. The guy at Mike's said they couldn't repair a tube. I asked him to open the tire and give me the tube so I could take it someplace that could patch the tube. He then completely removed the tire from the rim and handed them to me and said twenty bucks. I asked him to keep the tire and rim and I would return with the tube for him to install. He said no - give me twenty bucks. Very rudely. Twenty dollars for less than 5 minutes work and he didn't even remove the 3" long screw that was still in the tire.Service: Tires

DROPED MY ENGINE DURING THE SWAP OUT AND BROKE THE STARTER. Pathetic employees. The lack of care or respect this place has is laughable. Do not waste time here. Charlie is not just incompetent, he's petty. They respond to bad reviews after five years, and have the employees put up good ones. BE BETTER.

terrible service, mistreated myself and many of my friends. do not recommend under any circumstance's. charlie is incompetent, nothing more than a glorified lube tech. how about you don't drop the motor next time?

I've used Mike's Automotive for several services including replacing an engine, after today I felt the need to make sure others know about how amazing they are. I called them last week because I had 2 wheel studs break on one wheel and since the car is my daily driver to work I needed it fixed as soon as I could. They were able to squeeze me into a very busy day and got me fixed in about 3 hours! I would highly recommend them to anyone, to me they remind me of mechanics 40 years ago, willing to help you out as though they were your neighbor and you weren't just another customer.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I always take my vehicles here to be serviced and smogged. All the guys are knowledgeable, and thoroughly explain every step when it comes to my vehicle, and what they need to do to repair it. Prices are great too! All around my favorite shop in the valley. I would also like to add that it s under new management, and the man in charge (Steele) is such a kind and friendly guy.

I will keep my personal opinion of a few things to myself and say if you're looking for a smog: this is the place. Quick and cheaper than anywhere in the valleys. If you're a local, this where you take your vehicle for service. As a former employee and long time North Valleys resident, I know Mikes has the staff with experience. The head mechanic is competent and fair and won't take your money if he doesn't need to.

Update: Clearly a biased response from an employee who seriously shouldn't be touching anyone's vehicles. Worst communication from any shop EVER, seriously they wont call you back so youre better off going in person. They hang a bunch of religious garb to distract you from how crooked they are. Charlie specifically will keep your car hostage because he doesnt know what he's doing and is embarrassed to admit when he is out of his league.Happy to hear you're kicking Charlie, but your karma will come.Would give 0 stars if applicable. Still paying for the mistakes from this shop years later. They massacred my first car. Hopefully they have fired Charlie by now.

I had a radiator leak while visiting. I needed to leave that same day, I spoke to Steele and he assured me he could get it fixed. My experience was wonderful. I have shared this with local family. Trusted guys. We take all our cars here. These guys tell you straight up whats wrong and fix it. If they cant do it, they would gladly refer you to another shop they trust. All the guys are nice and friendly. Highly recommend

I took my car here I had to have my oil gasket replaced on my ford, it was done in a timely manner and I thought the quote was priced fair BUT here was my end result .I went to go pick up my car it was extremely LOUD, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON I had to take it back a few times due to this, they admitted they had to do what they had to do to replace the pan oil gasket. They could not help me fix the problem ..had to take my car to an exhaust shop there was exhaust damage of over 2000 dollars have all the paperwork from the exhaust place and mikes automotive. My car has always passed Nevada smog inspection it would NOT now. Not only did it costs me 450 dollars for an oil pan gasket but I also walked out with damage to my exhaust system of over 2000 dollars, this put me in distress. I should have taken them to small claims court since I had all paperwork on my behalf but instead a bad review is good enough their not worth my time. Beware of this place if you like your car. Should have ask them for the refund of the 450 dollars that they charged me and more damage on top of that!! ..I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!!

What can I say about Mike's Automotive. This place is hands down the best shop in the greater Reno area. My car had various issues and had been sitting for months and they were more than happy to assist me in finding an inexpensive tow for the next day. They were extremely busy the day I brought my car over and they still found time to look over my car and diagnose what the problem was. Mike kept me continually updated on the status of my vehicle throughout the day. I really appreciated the peace of mind it provided me with. Mikes also worked with me on the price and he was upfront about the costs and what needed immediate fixing vs. what could wait. He saved my bank account. I'll bring my cars and trucks exclusively to Mike's now and have encouraged my family and friends to do the same. I advise everyone to patronize such a wonderful and supportive shop. Highest of quality in terms of customer service, personal attention (a last minute repair due to a 14 hour drive tomorrow), great quality and price for the work, and very reasonable time to complete the job. Guys were all super friendly and helpful. I came home and raved about this small business doing EVERYTHING right. So now I'm raving here. I will definitely trust future repairs to this team. Showed up there to have a screw removed from a tire( no biggy)when nobody else would do it right away not even the big store I bought the tires from. Mike's did it right away and it only took them about 15 min. to do it. This was my first time there and you know what they say that the first impression is a lasting one. Would recommend.

Although they fixed the problem I went there for I also asked them to diagnose an engine noise. Was told that it was an internal engine noise and that I should consider getting rid of the vehicle. Sure glad I got a 2nd opinion turned out to be nothing but a loose spark plug. While Mike himself may be an accomplished mechanic his shop guys lack training in basic skills.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning

Mike & his techs have always been fair and clear about any work that needs to be done. They have even kept me from doing unnecessary services in the past. This is the third year of my using them as my primary shop, and they now work on all my cars, audi, acura, and dodge.. I went here back in April 2017 to get a lift kit and off road tires installed on my Jeep Patriot. These guys did an excellent job. Mike and his crew are all absolute gentlemen and professionals. I definitely recommend these guys if you have some custom type work/upgrades you need done to your vehicle. Thanks again.

I just moved to the area and Mike was the first person I brought my truck to. He and the other mechanic were friendly and professional and did a great job in a more than reasonable time. Fair price for what neede to be done. I will be using them again in the future.

Brought my vehicle here a few times and was never happy with their prices, seemed way too high for what I was having fixed. Once paid over $800 to fix a check engine light and shaking problem on my vehicle. A few days later the same thing happened again. I wonder if they even did anything to fix the problem or just reset the light? Unfortunately because I this experience I will not do business here again. Go to North Valleys Automotive across the street. They are amazing and priced fairly!

Terrible. Possibly the worst customer service I've experienced in my life. Wouldn't recommend this shop to any decent person. Mike is rude and extremely unprofessional; not only to customers, but also to regular wage earning civilians. I'm lucky to have had my car towed away before they had got their hands on it. Who knows what they would have done to my car. Stay far away from this place and make sure you relay the message to loved one's and friends. Period.
