Another mechanic told me I needed at least $4,000 in repairs to simply be able to align my car. Doran took a look at my car and fixed a simple issue in about twenty minutes, saving me thousands of dollars. Furthermore, he happened to have tires on hand to replace my current expired ones, which revealed that my old ones were filled with water. Without his and his sons work, my car would still rattle on the highway and be difficult to control. Overall, paid only $400 for the tire replacement. I would have had to pay over 10x that if I didn't bring my car to Doran's just to have some repairs done and do an alignment, and even then the problem may not have been fixed due to the water in the tires.

This has to be one of the best and most honest mechanics in Reno. Mr. Doran loves his job and is not looking to rob or scam you either. Unfortunately he could not help me because he is out of town on vacation but referred me to other shops who would not rip me off. He also told me to keep in touch with him to make sure I was taken care of. I highly recommend him if you need foreign car work. Mr. Doran goes above and beyond.

I was in a tight spot when my lights came on while driving long distance. After seeing who s available in the area I ended up taking my car to Doran. He got the part I needed in the same day, but after testing the car it didn t seem like it was still necessary, so he sent me on my way. I feel like many places would have done the work anyway or charged a huge fee to diagnose, not with Doran though, everything was straightforward. I d bring my car to him again if ever in the area.

Doran got me in for a reasonable price, was able to fit me into his schedule on relatively short notice, and finished the service in around 1.5 hours. He showed me the parts he replaced after the service was complete and gave me an overview of how the service went. Good local shop run by good people, price you agree to on the phone is the final price, no extra dealer/service fees. I brought my own parts and he installed them well, as well as providing a warranty on the work he did.Service: Brakes

Called on Friday afternoon with an immediate issue, and Doran went out of his way to make time to see me the very next day. Within minutes, he diagnosed my issue and had the parts on hand to fix my brake caliper. So grateful for his expertise. I will definitely return in the future.

We needed urgent help on our cars charging system. We are from out of town and really needed help to fix it. Doran s found a genuine Bosch alternator when even the dealer didn t stock it. We are back on the road and very thankful. Thank you for being there and adjusting your schedule and fitting us in.

I got off work early on a Sunday morning to find out that my car wouldn t start. I couldn t find anything open on a Sunday and most shops said that they would be booked for several days. A friend referred me to Doran s so I took a chance and called. I was amazed when he answered right away. After explaining what happened and my fear that it was the starter he suggested meeting at the car and checking it out before I paid to have it towed. I m definitely a customer for life. We had our car on a road trip and suddenly it started chugging and shaking. We were 30 minutes away from Reno and I asked my friend if they have any recommendations for auto service shop as many auto service shops are not available same day. My friend highly recommended Doran s Foreign Car Service and we see Doran to check what s wrong. He is hard working and patient with us especially with my two kids. He was able to diagnosed the issue and replace a new solenoid and it is running great and we are back on our road trip again! Highly recommended!

I was so lucky to find Doran's shop! My car started misfiring on me after a day skiing in Tahoe. I got my car towed to his shop that Saturday night. The next morning, he came in, even though the shop was closed, and swapped out the injectors for me. When I first broke down I thought it was going to take days to get my car back, especially since all the shops were closed for the weekend. He got me back on the road within three hours and I was able to make the drive back to SF without any issues!I would gladly recommend to this shop to anyone. If you are looking for a mechanic in Reno this is the place!

The best local mechanic with the best prices. He really knows his stuff and will be honest and straight up with you about your vehicle. We have been taking our car to him for about 10 years now and we won't go anywhere else.

Excellent professional auto mechanic service at a reasonable price. I was traveling from Midwest to California and check engine light came on outside of Reno. Was a P 2647 code on 2010 honda accord. I needed a vvt solenoid changed and everyone was booked two weeks out. He worked me in pronto and sent me on my way. Thanks again to Doran's. I`ve been taking my cars to Doran`s since 2007. I highly recommend him as he`s a truely an honest mechanic. He`s a one man band, no one else will work on your car but him, I like that. It might take a little longer sometimes but, to me it`s well worth it. Very glad that I went to Doran, honest and fair shop. He went out of the way to see me on a Saturday and made sure that only what needed to get repaired was as other shops had been mis-diagnosing the issue. Would highly recommend to anyone in the Reno area!

Mid-90s VW Eurovan battery light came on while on a road trip, Doran patched it up so we could make it home. Got refused by a lot of other shops in Reno and Doran went above and beyond to get us back on the road.

Doran seriously saved me! I was stuck in Reno on my way to California with a bad fuel filter on a Friday. All repair shops were closed thru the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday because of the new year's holiday, and all the shops I called said that they couldn't get the part in until the next Wednesday and they were too busy to see me at all on Friday anyway. Luckily I called Doran, and even though it was his birthday that day and he hadn't planned on working, he agreed to come into the shop and help me out. He went above and beyond what he should have for a total stranger and I will forever be grateful. He saved me sooooooo much money and priceless time. And even though he went out of his way, he charged me less than all the other shops in town had quoted. A very honest, kind and hardworking man. If I lived in Reno he'd definitely be my car guy! :) Thanks Doran!

OMG! Doran saved my life! I was driving my daughter s car from California to NY.It was showing battery issues, even though it had a brand new battery!I had 2 other people look at it and they all said it was the alternator!In 5 seconds, Doran diagnosed and fixed the problem! I also need to mention this was a SATURDAY and no mechanics were open to take my call... Doran took my call! Bless you, Doran!I just arrived in NY last night and no problems whatsoever!

Our 85 mercedes benz was having problems overheating on our drive from Texas to Seattle, and Doran's was able to see us right away and helped figure out the problem. Great customer service and I would highly recommend going here for your car needs!

Doran is easy to talk to. I am new to this area, but he explained what he can do for my concerns. He let me see old and new parts while he was working on my car. I recommend especially women who have a little fear with mechanic. Thank you, Doran!

Doran's is the only car repair shop in Reno to even bother going to when your car needs to visit the doctor. Doran cares about your vehicle & more importantly Doran cares about you as the customer. He is 100% honest and he goes above and beyond as a mechanic.

Doran - the last honest mechanic. If it needs to be fixed he can do it. If it doesn't need to be fixed, he's honest enough to tell you so (unlike so many others that seem to add unnecessary repairs and replacements), even if it means you'll pay less.He'll take care if you, really top off all your fluids and keep you up and going.

He is one of the most honest car mechanic I ve dealt with. He is fair and he will not overcharged you for anything like others. He only fixes what it needs to be fixed. I highly recommend him.

He once spent an hour on the phone, on a Sunday, walking me through diagnosis and repair options while I was stuck on the shoulder of the road in Arizona. Simply because I was an occasional customer. Knowledgeable, fair and competent!!
