Had a used car inspected after purchase - they did a thorough job with lots of pictures and details in report. They rated action recommendations by urgency and discussed tradeoffs and warning signs for the things i deferred - no pressure, just information. The shop is visible from the office - very clean and orderly. The office is really nice - art from local artists and a friendly doggy. Their web interface for the work order is first-rate.

I ve been to quite a few shops over the years and can honestly, no other shop compares to CoAuto. I was referred by a friend who talked them up and I wish I d have listened to him sooner. You know what s going on with your vehicle the whole time and they don t try to pull one over on you as I ve experienced at other places. I don t foresee myself going anywhere else and I will definitely be referring CoAuto to everyone.

Super friendly staff, nice shop. They fit me in quickly when I needed an oil change. The price was very reasonable and more affordable than my last oil change at a different shop. They provided a thorough inspection of my car and let me know of other maintenance that would be needed soon. Convenient location as well.

While very informative and professional, there were a few issues: the largest being a noise I noticed when driving home. To my horror, one of the wheels of my car had not been completely tightened to the car (see video). Completely unacceptable, unsafe, and horrible for the car. While the brake job I paid $2000 for seemed fine when inspected by another shop (because why would I trust this one to check) it doesn't excuse this oversight.Secondly, less severe, I was annoyed that they had to keep it overnight for a brake job. Understandable, but still inconvenient.

This place rocks. It s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. My 2015 Subaru Crosstrek noticeably drives better and feels like a new car after oil change, tire rotation, brake rotor/pad replacement, front diff service, and AC recharge. Solid work, friendly service, and there are two golden retrievers running around at all times to greet you. Highly recommend to all!!

I found this shop on google and decided to give it a try. They were able to get my car in the same day that I called to check my breaks before an upcoming road trip. I really enjoyed their paperless process, friendly staff, and the shop pup! I found them to be honest about the repairs that needed to be done, quick, and efficient. We are new in town and I had no idea where to go to get my new, used car inspected. CoAuto is close to where we live and they had good reviews so I took it there. Could not have been happier! As a woman, I always feel like I am getting taken advantage of at auto repair places. That was not how I felt at CoAuto. Unfortunately, the car turned out to be a piece of junk but they absolutely did not try to get me to repair it. Rather, they told me the truth and gave me some tips about how to buy a used car next time. I will be taking our other cars there in the future. Thanks CoAuto!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

We took our car in because of a weird noise and of course they couldn't replicate it, but we sent them a video and that helped diagnose it. Reasonable prices and cool art on the walls. They're a quirky kind of place, which you can tell from their phone menu and website, but I didn't mind. I removed 1 star because the guy did that thing where he only really spoke to my husband. He also told us about their workshops to teach women more about cars, which is awesome, but maybe phrase the spiel differently so you don't offend women who DO know about cars. :) (I wasn't offended, for the record, but it did make me raise an eyebrow, haha.)

This is an awesome place to take your car. The waiting room is stylish and has complimentary coffee. The main space is clean with a clean bathroom and they are working on a very cool mural.

Update 12/27/2022Today I spoke with the owner and we had a really good conversation. There were definitely some miscommunications along the way with my previous service advisor and once the owner stepped in he corrected everything and made it right. I really appreciate the fact that he took the time to get a hold of me and hear my thoughts how things could have worked out differently. Thank you Vinnie!This company was dishonest about the repairs we agreed upon. They overcharge for parts considerably and they did not fix the problem I brought the truck in for. They told me that they would warranty a sensor that had allready failed once then the refused to replace it instead blaming it on another issue. My previous service adviser had told me that they have had several issues with that particular brand of sensor and that they would swap it with another brand. My new service adviser refused to do that instead blaming it on a related but separate issue. Additionally on there post inspection check list the stated the they preformed several items yet none of the were actually done.This is not the first time I have had issues with this shop. I had to get my catalytic converters replaced and upon receiving the vehicle there were missing bolts. After spending well over a $1000 you would think that they could pay attention to such a detail however I had to bring the vehicle back to get a bolt replaced additionally I noticed that One of the bolts was in not very good condition and for all the money I spent I asked them to replace it and they refused to replace it. I don't really trust or get a good feeling from this shop and I don't believe in the quality of their work given what I have had to go through and the premium price you pay for their work.

Scam shop, cracked my windshield and faulty reprogrammed ECU (that I didn't need!) caused misfires and had to be fixed by Capital Ford in Carson City. Owners of shop refuse to reimburse or refund overcharged services.Spent over $4,000 to find out it was a $30 MAF sensor, and CoAuto does not think they have any responsibility to make it right.DO NOT GO HERE!

The team and service at CoAuto are both amazing! From the moment you walk in the door you feel taken care of, the continuous communication throughout the process keeps you informed, and the fact they're so involved in the community is unlike any other in the industry. Great care and detail were paid to my truck. The atmosphere is professional, friendly and comfortable. With an appointment I was able to add on a couple of other services. My truck now is able to rock and roll for a while. Told me what I might need in the future. Cleaned my windows vacuumed the floor. Ceasar and Jay good team to complete the projects. I would recommend this shop.

I needed to get my starter repaired. I had it towed over and my service was top notch! They helped me greatly as being a single dad and only one car! They were very professional and gave me a great review of my repairs with pictures and everything! They got the ok for repairs and had my car back to me is amazing time! I can t say enough about the staff here and how helpful they all are!! Thank you CoAuto for the amazing experience while dealing with broke car!! I will surely be a loyal customer moving forward! Needed both my rear brake pads and roters replaced. Every person I interacted with was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. They explained every step of the process, and gave me repair recommendations but weren't pushy about sales at all. The whole process was very quick and easy. I came here because of a recommendation from a coworker and I'll be recommending them to my friends in the future!Service: Brake service & repair

CoAuto has worked on my vehicle a few times now, and every time, they under-promise and over-deliver. The entire team is kind and respectful. The owners, two brothers, are great mechanics and just all around nice guys. Their new facility is a work of art. They display a ton of local artist's work, and the shop has a beautiful mural on the wall.I've done some work for a number of mechanic shops in town on the IT side of things, and I have never seen a shop as clean as theirs. I once heard a saying, that you can tell how much a tradesman loves his trade by how well he takes care of his tools, and this shop is the epitome of that saying.The "Co," in CoAuto, apparently stands for Community Conscious, and with the number of services, classes, and amount of charity they do for the Reno-Sparks community, really shows that they mean it. Every time I have had my vehicle worked on, they have spent the time to educate me on what they did, why they did it, and how I can take better care of my vehicle.Not to mention, they also provide an amazing warranty and reimbursement for towing, up to a certain amount, for a year or two. I am not sure where else in Reno, you can get the same level of service and warranty, as you can here.I will be taking my vehicle here, from here on out. I recommend the same to anyone reading this.

I had an issue with my 2011 Subaru Outback overheating. I had a local mobile mechanic run a diagnostic, however he ended up being unreliable and unresponsive and cost me hundreds in a rental car costs after telling me I should not drive the car and ordering the wrong part for my car.I took my car over to CoAuto as my boyfriend recently had a great experience with them. I walked in this morning without any appt just before heading to work; I was promptly greeted by the owner, Vinnie, who truly listened and cared about my issues.He, very generously, took valuable time out of his day to take a look at my car and thoroughly explain all possible issues. He even showed me ways in which I could possibly fix it myself to save some money (this is unheard of with any mechanics around town!) after being screwed by this other mechanic.I have never come across such a friendly, patient, trustworthy car mechanic, and I ve had my fair share of car issues in my lifetime! I had great and friendly service at Co-Auto. Their pricing is comparable to other shops in the area. I really like the emails so I can approve or disapprove the work based on my budget and the pictures of the old parts that need to be replace and the pictures of the new parts that were replaced are a nice touch. I don't know of any other shop in town that does this. I am happy with the work I have had done on my truck.

Its hard to find honest an mechanic. This place really does provide you with all the information you need to make the right decision on repairs and catalogs the whole process for you to see, through a link that they send you. Pricey yes, but you get what you pay for. Well worth it.

Finally an honest repair shop! I have been coming to CoAuto for more than 3 years with both a 2007 BMW 530i and a 2019 Subaru Impreza for all maintenance and repairs. Rochelle, Anthony, and the team at CoAuto have been professional and helpful every step of the way! They provide outstanding service and fair pricing. They use the exact parts and fluids for your vehicle, and go by the book to ensure the job is done right. Oil changes come with a full vehicle inspection including tire rotations and tread depth readings, check fluid levels, brake pads and rotors, and document any potential upcoming needs for your car. They use software to document progress on repairs, including pictures of all work done, and use the built-in text program to keep you updated on progress and to gain permission if any additional work needs to be done. They are completely transparent with what needs to be done and why, how much it will cost, and allow you to make a fully informed decision about your car. Worth every penny. Honestly, they deserve at least a dozen 5-star reviews from me! And the art gallery from local creators in their lobby is icing on the cake. Also, Military/Veteran's Discount!

Worst experience ever. Brought my car in for transmission slippage. They said they couldn't fix it. Went to drive it home and the battery was dead, car overheated, and the oil light came on on the 7 mile drive home. Cost me $125 for them to completely destroy my vehicle.The response received here is a complete fabrication. Considering I drove the vehicle in the battery obviously worked and the radiator was not leaking and I absolutely did not have oil leaking either. I simply brought it in because my Transmission was slipping.Apparently, in the course of their "inspection" they ruined my battery, drained my oil and radiator fluid. I am appalled by these lies since I simply left an honest review and didn't sue them for damages as I was encouraged to do.My car had recently had extensive work done, because I had jumped a curb and I have all the paperwork from that shop stating the vehicle was in fine condition with the exception of the transmission only 2 months prior. Again, the fact that I drove the car into this terrible shop for repairs should show that my battery, oil and radiator was fine prior to leaving it.

I looked up CoAuto when I was looking for a shop to take my car. What surprised me most was that most of the negative reviews on Google were responded to by the owner.Since then I've had nothing but the best service. They've resolved emergency issues and been very flexible and communicative about scheduling. James especalially has been a great help and is always kind and accommodating.Prices make sense, service is great, communication is impeccable!

I finally have my car back after a hellish experience with another shop. I can't say enough nice things about Co Auto. They are crazy knowledgeable, their prices are fair, customer service was some of the best I've ever had, anywhere. They were able to explain what was wrong with my car and never talked down to me, and did the job right the first time. I have complete confidence in their work and I'll never take any of my cars anywhere else. Customer for life.

Fantastic repair shop. Prices are a bit steep but the mechanics are transparent about the repairs they recommend (they provide pictures of any visible damage/wear), and they're easy to interact with. My engine started leaking coolant badly, so I brought it in 5 minutes before the shop closed on a Friday -- they all stayed late, drove to the Subaru dealership for a new part, and fixed my car up even though I brought the car in so last minute.

I say this without any hyperbole, this is the best mechanic I have ever been lucky enough to stumble across. The staff are incredible, fun and enthusiastic, they tell you every price up front and are actively trying to charge you LESS money. The fact that it doubles as an art gallery for local up and coming artists is an unbelievable bonus. They fixed my 4Runner on the day and even cleaned it!!! Make an appointment, do yourself a favour and make some friends. 12/10 would recommend.

The most honest shop I have ever found!!We all know how notorious auto shops can charge you for things you may not need while overcharging along the way. I have been burned so many times and this shop is THE BEST. I drive over an hour away just to see this shop now. They took it upon themselves to find ways to save on replacement parts for me during my service. They saved me over $200 compared to another shop s quote. They are honest, kind and genuinely want to earn your business. Vinnie bent over backwards to help me and Brennan (one of the techs) bent over backwards to help. You won t find nicer people, better pricing, or more quality service. I will be a customer for life.

I haven't had any work done yet, but I did decide to have them do it so I'll know Monday, but I am confident I will be happy. Just my initial experience was confidence inspiring. I feel that I have found a knowledgeable and honest shop, who truly guarantees their work. Also, I love that I can spend my money at a local place who cares about community.*Update*This place is great! They are very knowledgeable and back their work up with a roadside guarantee, so they'll reimburse you for a tow even if what's broken isn't what they worked on! They also provide pictures of the work before and after. There is so much I like about this shop, I can't even list it all. It's so worth taking your vehicle here.
