Return my car twice both times still messed up charged me $400 in parts then $2600 for labor for simple stuff. The also kept leading me on for 6 months. I finally told them to put it together and return it. Took them to weeks and it now looks like a junk car. Needs detailed and found my $1000 worth of damage done by the tech nuder the hood . Also ruined my k&n filter and airbox. The list goes on

Had an engine light on in my car asked them to find out what was causing it, they ran some 26 point inspection 90% of which had nothing to do with the engine light, just garbage like my front left shock was worn???.The engine light was for a too lean bank one and two simple not the other twenty things they charged me for.Finally took my car back with almost $200.00 bill for nothing. In the end they wanted almost $1000.00 to replace a fuel pump and filter, these parts can be found anywhere for under $100.00The ford dealership quoted less???Don't waist your time. Giant rip off.P.S. it wasn't the fuel pump, it was a fuel pressure switch. (Under $25.00)

In my way back to Canada, towing my travel trailer, I had to stop at this shop to service my Navigator. They did it right and fast. Excellent service.

I moved from out of state and I was looking for a mechanic to run diagnostics on my car after driving it for close to 800miles from state to state in less than a week and noticing it acting up on me. I stopped by hoping they would take care of my car. They had my car for about 3days while they looked at it, I finally had to ask for it back regardless of what they would find, and in the end they tell me nothing was wrong.Went to one of the Sierra Car Care MST Tire Center branches on 1101 California Ave at 9am on a Friday, and they just made me feel so well taken care of. The mechanics at Sierra all came into the lobby one at a time to assure me they'd help my car. At Sierra Car Care they had the VTEC part ordered and delivered during the day, the required oil change was done after part replacement, and brakes were changed by the end of the day that Friday. My car was ready around 4:00pm on Friday and throughout the day they would call me or send a text with an update.I just didn't feel like Avila's auto shop mechanics were reliable. I as a girl felt used. Just like other reviews on here, I kept having to chase them for answers on status updates for my car. And $127.87 for diagnostics later I was told nothing was wrong with me car, when at Sierra less than 4hours later I was getting a call from the manager telling me there was a leak in the VTEC part that needed replacing with it's required oil change for flushing, and that my brakes were also in need of replacing.

Forget about these people because they are very expensive. First, for an inspection is 129$!! Which is normally 45$ or sometimes is free here in Reno because I found some other mechanic in Reno that are free in 2022 but this guy forget about it man, they take forever to check your car and even if you know the problem and if you take your car there to ask how much to replace something they will definitely charge you if you leave your car there for a day !!! that's what happened to me last time which is sad because I knew what was the problem with my car and o just went there to ask them how much they would charge to put a new engine but they came up saying something else so they can charge me for an inspection but never ask them to do that, i went there to ask how much to put a new engine not for an inspection but they still charged . Go ahead if you have money go give them your money.

Completely overcharged everything, deliberately charged $100 over (had to do my own math), then charged and replaced parts that were completely unnecessary. Super shady do not recommend.

Very thorough very knowledgeable very helpful. A bit pricey but sometimes you have to pay more for good quality work. Thank you for the help with my car. If anything else goes wrong we will be coming back to you I'm glad I found a mechanic finally who is trustworthy and not just trying to rip me off because I'm a girl

We have a '94 Honda Civic. Our A/C was not working and they told us to bring it in. Come to find out the car was way past due on a tuneup. They took care of the tuneup and replaced the A/C compressor and got us back on the road very quickly. Antonio was super friendly and helpful. They really tried and put us ahead of their regular customers but...It has not been a year and our A/C stopped working. We really can't trust anyone any more. This is the third different shop that we paid top dollar to have our compressor replaced in this car. Unfortunately it stopped working again. We live too far away and it is over a year now that we had it fixed here. It's just going to cost us way too much to bring it back here to get it repaired again.

Took very long, didn't send me any quote, never called to tell me anything and had to call many times to get an answer. They lied about the time it would take to fix vehicle and hit me with an insanely high bill, wouldn't reccomend this place to my worst enemy. Save the trouble and just go to other mechanics in the area that are reliable and reasonable. Wish I could give them a zero star because in my opinion a one star is generous. I dont see how they have such a high rating online, so don't be fooled by it.Services: Engine repair, Oil change

I called Sauturday to see how quickly they could get me in to fix my AC, with out me having to leave my vehicle all day with them. They let me bring in right away Monday to diagnose the problem and had me bring it back the next day to fix it. They figured it would take 3 or 4 hours to fix and they got it done in less than two hours. Gil was very personable and professional. I absolutely intend on doing business with them again.

This Auto Shop was Honest with me and gave me the Best Quote. I took my car In telling Gus what I thought my vehicle needed done. I had an estimate from other shops that I did not disclose. He calmly stated that before any commitments should be made with him or any other shop a full engine Diagnostics should be performed. Gus was Honest and to the point. Giving me options as to what I should do first if I did not have the funds to fix the existing problems with my vehicle. Out of the other Mechanic shops he was the only Owner that took the time and broke down what exactly he was going to do and pricing. He didn't brake the bank and gave the best quote. Was honest, upfront, and professional you have made a customer for life looking forward to working with you on all my future offroad project builds.

I had my Honda CRV towed to their shop because it wont turn on. I thought it was the starter that was failing, however within a few hours they called me back saying they tested the starter many times and it was working just fine, the real problem was the alternator. They fixed in record time, they really went through looking what could be causing the problem. Very affordable repair, great staff very professional and kind, I 10000000% recommend this guys, they are willing to work it out if you need your car quickly. Thank you Staff!! We had engine trouble in an unknown town at 6pm on Friday on a holiday weekend. We called ahead and Avila's told us they would take care of us in our tight spot. They checked all issues, were very honest and thorough and offered to take care of us the next day when everyone else was closed. Avila's was professional, empathetic, and willing to take care of us without a thought of gouging. I would gladly use them any time for anything in the future. Avila s set me up with an appointment to repair my car s air conditioning after I paid them to perform diagnostic testing. The appointment was approximately two weeks away because they had to order parts. I showed up for the appointment and dropped off my car. Avila s told me they would call when my car was ready. I called them near closing and was told they ordered the wrong hose and didn t do any work on the car. I went to the shop to retrieve my car and could tell they never attempted to work on the car. It was parked exactly where I had dropped it off and I could tell It hadn t been moved. Did they really order the wrong hose? I doubt it. They either never ordered the parts or the parts did not arrive yet. In any event, it was all a waste of my time and Avila s didn t have the common decency to cancel my appointment, or tell me what was going on when I dropped off my car or at least notified me earlier in the day. I would describe this shop as disorganized and dishonest.Service: Air conditioning

I highly recommend this place for all of your automobile repairs and maintenance. Gil and the other mechanics were very respectful and approachable. They just changed my oil today but on top of that, they did a full inspection on the vehicle to let me know if there were any other issues that they could fix for me. I had my son with me and they had a nice waiting area with a tv that kept him occupied while we waited for my truck to be done. Will definitely be going to them for all of my automobile maintenance and repairs.

I brought my vehicle to Avila s due to fire damage behind the throttle body. I actually purchased the vehicle after this damaged occurred and was not familiar with all that was wrong. Vehicle would cut off after only a minute or so. First off they immediately replaced a section of the wire harness that was burnt and showed me how bad the damage was. This did not fix the problem (but had to be done) and they continued to diagnose. I was on a budget but they still went above and beyond, showing me everything they saw that needed done that I could do myself. They were able to get it running great until part comes in the fix main issue. They went through the vacuum system and fixed minor issues for free. By the time I left the shop I knew exactly what was left to do, they reduced the cost of work they had done to help with my low budget, and gave me great peace of mind. Will be back to their shop again.

So far this business gets all the positive remarks I could give it. It's low key, good old fashioned customer service. They performed a diagnosis and fix of a problem with my van without an appointment and on the same day.They let me look at the diagnosis details and helped me understand where and why the problem occurred. This led me to trust their own confidence that they would fix this problem and others correctly.I will use them again and update my review accordingly if need be.

I've been coming to this place for quite a few years, I've always trusted their work and opinion to keep me safe on the road . They've always gave me the run down on my old vehicle to help me maintain it and they always explained and showed me the issues and gave me details. Great customer service as usual with all the employees.

Took my 99 tahoe here to get the freon discharged so I old replace the ac compressor and accumulator. They charged $180 for the discharge and refill which was pretty good considering I could not find anyone else in town willing to help. When they refilled the system they let me know one of my valves was bad and he replaced it for me. He also let me know that the ac should be blowing colder and that this could be achieved by replacing the condenser and orifice tube. If my ac gets hot I will be getting the other parts and returning here to have them work on it for me.

Words cannot even explain how grateful I am to have ended up in this place and to have met these wonderful people. My friend and I were on a road trip from Cali back to Chicago and our car started giving us issues. We went to the closest shop from the exit, and they couldn't help us. I tried calling ahead to other places and no one could help because it was Saturday and everything was closing soon. As soon as I called Avila's, Gil was like "bring it in, we can fix it". Gil went above and beyond to figure out what was wrong with my car. Although I couldn't stay in town to wait for parts, Gil took us to U-haul to rent a truck to take my car back home. This family owned business is run by people that really care about their customers to one way or another get them on their way. If you are on a road trip or live in Reno, come meet these people that have so much more to offer than just an auto service. Reno, Nevada, I will be back. (Cool wait room, with coffee, and Netflix).

The customer service and repair work far by exceeded my expectations. Its hard to find good honest people that explain the process and keep you updated during the repairs. Cost was amazing and repairs were done within hours. This will be the only place I take my car from now on.

They had my truck for a month, to replace the engine I had to pay for them braking a/c, transmission lines that didn't leak were suddenly leaking and had to be replaced, motor mounts that maybe should have been replaced with the first engine swap and paint damage to the hood and roof of my truck. N

I think I know what the problem is with this shop.They are good mechanics, but they take more customers than they can handle. When they can't deliver on time, then the lying and the excuses begin. Also, the head mechanic is also the cashier, receptionist, errand person and general manager, which leaves him with less time to do work that other mechanics can't do.

Great guys a little slow on appointments but did a great job at a fair price. They went over and above explaining the problem and the correction, Come back? YES A little out of the way but well with it. Keep up the good work.

These ppl in these comments most likely were paid to give 5 stars. I do not recommend and mark my words they will upsell you. Get a second opinion before you ask them if they can find the problem for you. They took long to fix my radiator took them 4 whole days and charged me to look at something i didint tell him too dont bother spending thousands when they dont fix the problem just have you coming back to spend more like i said dont say i didint told you so your, your own mecha ic these days.
