Had my truck at John's Diesel and auto getting engine repair done. They had it for a month working on it. The night before I was going to get it one of the mechanics was joyriding it and wrecked it. It's been wreck for 3 weeks and I gave every opportunity for them to turn into there insurance and nothing was done until I filed a claim with my insurance. They say they wanna make it rite but won't reimburse any of my money I paid them. Now I am stuck with the wreck on my insurance and gotta pay for aftermarket parts out of pocket because of the negligenceService: Engine repair

As we traveled through Mesquite, our older motorhome needed immediate repair with the gas fill hose. John worked us in to the schedule immediately. His wonderful repair genius, Roy, lead us to a local gas station to make sure he made the correct repairs. Roy was amazing with his skills! 3 days and many gas stations later, his repairs are still holding strong!I can t praise them enough for coming to our rescue with no nonsense perfection. I took my truck into the shop. to have them put new starter in and fix whatever it is that was wrong with it. I told them that when I pick it up that i wanted to be able to drive it home . That didn't happen, I had to have it towed home. WTH plus I was told that it was going to cost $395.00 . So I paid in advance $400 . When I was told it was ready to be picked up done and that I owed $300 more not running not starting plus have it towed . One last thing when I was to drop it off at there shop said maybe a few days and it will be done. They didn't start on it or touch it for 4 weeks. Now I know why I usually do the work myself. You can't trust anyone anymore. All I have to say if you're reading this message than you know do not take your truck or car to them . Had an issue with my rear bearing, told me he d be able to do it on Monday, had to be in Vegas for a show this was on Thursday, I drove to Vegas on the bad bearing and back, only to be told it would be latter this week, I haven t been home in a 6 weeks, let alone am I able to just sit in some middle of no where town for a week or two while for a five hour job. Walked away from me in the middle of me telling him it s my sons birthday in two weeks I can t be sitting here indefinitely. Poor customer service, and the owner is a complete ********My advice to anyone concerning getting work done here go elsewhere appointments mean nothing, only trapping stranded drivers to boost the economy.

I'm from out of town. Passing through. 05 chevy duramax Friday afternoon my truck quits running.I got truck to them...couple hours they have me up & running and a/c blowing ice cubes from the dash.Great work & very fair price. Thanks again John's

I have to rate it 5 stars because of Todd. My tandems wouldn't slide so I searched for a shop so that I could avoid an upfront $400.00 roadside call fee. I called John's Diesel and Auto Repair and Todd answered. He replied that they were busy but to come by and he'd try to work me in to the schedule. When I arrived, Todd was outside and waiting for me. He got under my trailer and had the problem diagnosed within minutes. He showed me the problem and really did learn something for the future. He had me going in less than thirty minutes and saved my delivery time. Furthermore, the charge was quite reasonable. If you're ever in the Mesquite Nevada area and need service for your tractor-trailer, I definitely recommend giving John's a call.

Larry and Todd are the BEST mechanics we ve had the pleasure of having in all our journeys across the US! They have maintenanced and done a full dieselRebuild on our 8.3 Cummins since we were dead in the water October 2021! We ve returned several times for various things. Everytime we come in they are so prompt, they take care of us with amazing care, and they are so extremely smart and talented! They accommodate us and even give us a quick wash down on the back end when we come in with oil all Over the back of the bus from a leak! What mechanic does a wash service?! This is my family s business. I m shocked at some of these reviews and I would love to comment on them:) My brothers run this business and do a fantastic job! We have a construction company and we are always taking things into them to get fixed and they are fast and honest! My brothers are carrying on my dads legacy and he definitely isn t rolling over in his grave! My 3 brothers were taught by the best!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

Called for pricing said I don't know, hqvr too look at it. I prcessed to explain it's not hard I've done it myself before I just don't have a lift now. The phone got pur down but not hung up with no further response.

Alternator went out Sat, in my 2013 Lexus. Of course not being a GM product, I was unable to replace it. Not a simple chore. Alex from Autozone recommended John s. Called Monday AM and BAM! Not only did they have one in stock, but Todd got me in and repaired by the end of the day. He picked me up and drove me back to the shop. A1 Customer Service. Reasonable rates, a local place that you can trust.

Took my PT Cruiser in for an oil leak and they diagnosed it as a bad oil pressure sensor. They told me they replaced it and a week later it started leaking again. Took it to the Crysler Dealer in St George and they diagnosed it with the same issue. Replaced the part and told me there was no way John's had replaced it. Two months after Chrysler repaired it and no leaks.Waste of time and money going to Johns.

Very professional! We were passing through when our check engine light came on. They took us in right away and we had to wait a little for the engine to cool down. Once it did, they quickly found the issue (loose spark plug) and tightened it (no need for a new one). We paid for just the labor and were back on the road in a couple hours. Called ahead and they said they could get me in today (45 min from closing). When I got there the guy who I'm guessing is the owner was a little stand-offish at first but stopped what he was doing and got me right in and taken care of. After a few minutes he chatted and was good. Charged what he told me on the phone with no hidden up charges like a lot of places. He did good work on my AC and got me going on my vacation with ice cold AC. Good old fashion service!

Larry one of the mechanics there is fantastic, if it wasn't for him I would still be stuck in Mesquite!I called Sunday morning. Lyndon said he would come over to check out why the air system wasn't airing up. Finally showed up late in the afternoon in his subcompact green car with a strong smell of alcohol and told me he would come back first thing the next morning. Never happened! This situation was really going south until Larry started to work on it. Lyndon made all kinds of promises. I don't think he knows his stuff and was just throwing parts at it.Lyndon said aircompressor was working but didn't check how much pressure as it turned out that's what it was.Lyndon made up the bill charged $50, he could of told me on the phone about coming the next day. $200 for diagnostics I told him the compressor was no good. Cummins retails new compressor for $1800 Lyndon billed me $2200. So you get the picture!Larry my advice to you is to find a new place to work or start your own as your knowledge and talents are being exploited and not appreciated! I give Larry 5 stars, Lyndon a minus 10.Service: General repairs & maintenance

AC died on a Friday night in the middle of a 110+ degree heat wave. Everyone else was closed or estimated a Monday repair. John s answered my call, ordered the parts on Friday night, replaced the entire AC system and I was back on the road Saturday night! The price was fair and the work was quality. Their hustle meant minimal additional meal and hotel costs, which saved me a lot of money. John s didn t give me any BS pricing or mystery repair solutions, just solid advice and service and it was very helpful under stressful conditions. I would definitely call John s FIRST if you need a repair.

Our truck broke down so we were towed here. The mechanic was belligerent and didn't listen to what I was trying to tell him about what my truck did before and after it broke down. I was told by the mechanic "I deal with these kinds of diesels all the time I know what's wrong with it". They had the truck for four days and didn't look at it at all. We had family and friends come get us and tow us back to Ogden so when I went to get the truck He charged me $100 for disgnostics and he never told me what was wrong with it then I was told I had to push my truck out by my self while four mechanics eatched and laughed, they left the key in the ignition and left it on so it drained my battery dead. Long story short DO NOT GO TO THEM FOR ANYTHING YOU WILL BE SCREWED OUT OF MONEY AND TIME.The only reason its getting one star is because it has to have a start trading otherwise it would get no stars at all.

I worked with Todd at John's Diesel and Auto repair. I was towing my travel trailer with my Sierra 2500 HD when one of my coolant connections snapped at the firewall. Todd was able to coordinate with the insurance company (good Sam) and refer a professional tow truck company to move both my truck and my travel trailer to their desired destinations. He then was able to diagnose the problem and put together a plan so I could be back on the road as soon as possible. He Didn't have the parts in stock but he called around and was able to source the parts from distributor who then had them delivered the next morning. Todd was able to repair my truck and have me on the road by 10:00 in the morning. Big thank you to Todd and team for keeping our vacation trip on track.TLDR truck broke down at 2:00 p.m. and Todd had me back on the road at 10:00 a.m.Service: Engine repair

Wish I could give more than 5 stars, great guys and honest mechanics. Todd and Larry went above and beyond to help me out when I broke down. They did a full Cummins motor swap in my Dodge in 4 working days, and at a very fair price. Amazing! I would Absolutely bring my truck back to them.

I want to say THANK YOU to Larry. I called him on the phone and explained that we were having issues with our truck driving to Mesquite. He got us in first thing the next morning. It only took him 1 day to fix our truck and get us back on the road. His price was good. We were stranded, he could have charged us a lot more.

I found these mechanics to be excellent and honest. The business is always very busy. with customers. I would give them a 6 star review if I could. They are a great asset to the town of Mesquite and to the tourists traveling on the interstate with vehicle problems. They are friendly and provide great customer service. Their prices are honest and fair. I would recommend them to anyone with vehicle problems.

I was traveling thru Mesquite, it took all day but these guys helped me get my truck going. We pulled into town on a Thursday evening at 11:30pm with a front bearing failing in my 2006 GMC four wheel drive truck. I called and spoke with Landon at 8am the next morning to see if they could help me either today or Saturday since I was only in town a couple of days, he said yes no problem. I dropped it off at 8:30 and two hours later he called to say it was done and I could pick it up. That's great service, thanks Landon.

STOP!!! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! We had to tow our truck from his shop back to Arizona. They stripped a bunch of parts off of the truck before they loaded it on the transport. Truck is still broken. Charged 35.00 a day for storage for a total of 3 weeks!! Then charged another 350.00 to put 5 blade fuses in! DO NOT use these frauds.They stole serpentine belt, loosened the pulley's and stole parts off of the truck. It went into the shop for a transmission issue, and they tore into the ENGINE!!!It was a 2013 Dodge Longhorn.None of the fuses were even replaced!The father passed away and the son is running it. He is rolling over in his GRAVE right now, I am sure. Pathetic that he honors his dad this way. A thief, liar, and a fraud.If you use their services.... after you get robbed, you will remember this review.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

I was stuck about 600 miles from home. Other shops quoted me almost twice what these guys did. If you want an "old school" mechanic that feels like family, give them a shot, you will not be disappointed. Any RZR or other UTV owners that are in town on vacation, these guys are very easy to work with if you find yourself broken down while out of town. Even let me borrow a truck to get around town, that is unheard of in this day and age! Good job guys!

My car broke down on the side of the highway and I called this place explaining that I was driving from Connecticut to Califnoria and needed the car fixed right away. When I brought it in he poured water into the radiator and said there was a leak and he would look at it first thing in the morning and call me. I call the next morning after staying in a motel and the guy answers and has no idea what I am talking about. I drive to the shop and they have not even looked at my car and they have been open for 2+ hours. He says he is going to look at it now and another mechanic said he probably wont even be able to fix it today, so I said no, I am taking it somewhere else who said they will fix it today. He then charges me $40 for looking at it the night before even though he said he was not charging me for looking at it only for the parts and time spent replacing them. When I tried to explain myself he spit his chewing tobacco on the ground to intimidate me. Completely incompentant mechanics who do not value your time or money. I now have to book another night at a motel and wait for this other shop to fix it. Do not go here, waste of your time, energy and money.

Traveling through Mesquite needed a clutch fanHe overcharged me for clutch fan. Clutch fan was only 300.00 he charged me 600.00 total bill was 800.00He did fix it fast. When he fixed it my windshield wipers came on without the truck running. He just looked at me. At that point I just wanted out of there.
