Written on behalf of a woman friend -- a very dissatisfied customer: IF I COULD GIVE MITCHELL'S AUTOMOTIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. STAY AWAY BASED UPON MY EXPERIENCE!Car: 2006 Toyota Solara -- very good shape for its age -- approx 150K miles.Circumstance: Mitchell did a simple requested oil change on 11/28/2018. On the way home my engine died. The next day car was towed back to Mitchell. Turns out the oil plug was negligently installed and engine oil drained out on my trip home, causing the engine to seize. A week later Mitchell had tried to repair the engine in some way, unknown to me. Apparently it ran after becoming unseized but with a loud noise, suggesting significant damage to connecting rod(s), crank, lifters, cam, or other parts. Mitchell acknowledged that it was his fault and agreed to replace the engine with a used one. Maybe his mistake was excusable -- but my friend's experience below with incessant delays and excuses is not. After a series of phonecalls which he mostly ignored, she visited on two occasions with a knowledgeable friend. Mitchell claimed he made no money during December 2018 and could not buy a replacement engine (approx. cost $600 - $800). BUT his Facebook page shows photos of recently multiple repair jobs on classy-looking cars. He was to meet with his business partners after new years to acquire the money. He stated that my friend would become his top proirity repair customer. He was asked to contact my friend in a week when he bought the replacement engine so she could examine it. As of end Feb 2019 He never called with a specific date.It is now nearly a full 3 months that she's had no access to her car. She has little indication how it will be repaired. She is married but a single mother -- her husband currently is unavailable -- with an emotionally challenged child and limited income. She cannot afford to start over with a different repair shop. She feels that she's been taken advantage of as a woman and as a minority. If no progress is made immediately (as of 02/25/2019) she intends to explore filing complaints with multiple agencies. Let the customer beware!

His fees are very reasonable and the most important thing I loved about him is that he will show and explain what s going on with your car before he fixes it...and he doesn t charge for diagnosis...
