My ignition was locked and couldn t get my car to start. I was panicking because all of the mechanics I knew of were already busy but luckily I read the reviews for Area Locksmith and asked for a quote. Upon arrival I was given an estimate which was really good to me! He was friendly and kind, I was amazed by how quick he was and how he solved my problem. Not to mention, he arrived in less than 20 mins! I am beyond impressed and happy with their service. Thank you!

Ridiculous. Was quoted $25 for the service call which was fine. When the tech came I specifically asked him for and estimate and was quoted around $189. When he was finished the total he gave me was $509. Told him he quoted me around $189 and he said well we have no way of knowing until we re done with the job . Then why did you quote me that? I never would have accepted.. After complaining he called the office and they waived the labor charges and I still ended up with a charge of over $400.

I selected this locksmith for two reasons: 1. It has a 5-star rating; 2. It is one block away from our business location.One technician called and came in on time. We have a storefront lock working fine with keys, only having the inside turn knob stuck. We thought it would be an easy job for any experienced (or not so) locksmith. I was busy with many tasks and just wanted someone to take care of this trivial issue. Guess I was wrong. The guy showed up here tested the lock with the key and asked for a whopping $850 to fix it. If he were to ask $150, I would have paid him on the spot without knowing the complexity of this job. But we just have to live with the problem if it really costs that much to remedy. Of course, he charged me $85 for an attempted gouging job.The next day, I ordered a standard storefront lock turn knob from Amazon. With in a day, I got the part. To my surprise, never having worked with this kind of lock before, I replaced the part within 5 minutes and fixed the problem. Sure enough, the old part I removed, within less than 1 minute, was frozen and was the only problem the lock had. The cost of parts: $11.95+tax.I felt like we are in a wrong business and never knew a locksmith can make money that easy. Or shall we call it robbery? With or without any excuses, as a "professional" locksmith, this guy certainly appears as a crook. Or am I so disconnected to the reality after the COVID that the inflation has shot through the roof? I am deeply concerned either way.

So I lost my BMW key when I was in Vegas for business. BMW said it would take 5 days to get me a new key. Area Locksmith was right there and I got two keys made on location for half of what BMW was going to charge!! Excellent service and prices. Will recommend to everyone!
