It was shut down for a while even made the TV news because people couldn't get their cars back. Then I saw.That it was reopen and and lately when I drive by the doors are closed so I don't know what's going on. The guy has a bad history.

Picture this-You're driving cross country, car loaded front seat to the rear. You pull away from the hotel, the engine light comes on, the engine starts sputtering, and you have no idea what's happening.That happened to me this morning. In Henderson, NV. No idea who to call. I hop on my phone and Duaine's Automotive comes up. 1.5 miles from where I've pulled over. 7.30 in the morning. I sputter my way over there, walk in, and spill my sad(to me)story to Carl Brown, the owner. He gives me his full attention, doesn't interrupt as I over explain my plight, and says he can look at it around 10am. I wander off and he calls at 9.30 with an explanation of the problem. Bottom line, I was out before noon and back on the road. Thank you Carl, for fitting me into your full day. They were booked(you could tell) and he not only fixed the issue, cylinder misfiring, replaced, they also filled the engine oil, which was too low. If you are even remotely close to Duaine's, give them a call first. If I lived here, Carl and his crew would be my go to car whisperer.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I had my car here to get repaired and after waiting months for a direct answer the owner Carl kept giving me the run around saying he couldn't get the part. When I went to get the car to take it to the dealership he ripped my battery out of the car and cursed me out for calling repeatedly to get an update. I do understand people have been short staffed since the pandemic but then dont take on any more projects. Even the AAA guy said I should report him but I just wanted the nightmare to end. Now I see I am not the only one who had a horrible experience with this shop. Horrible customer service and very unprofessional. The dealership had my car up and running in one week.i didn't even care he took the battery because I couldn't wait to get my car out of that shop!Service: Electrical

A few people recommended this place so I made an appointment to bring my car in. When it was time for our appointment, the door was locked and no one picked up the phone. My husband had to rearrange his complicated work schedule to get the car in, so this was extremely upsetting. I DO NOT recommend this place.

This place has had my friends car for 2 months. They were supposed to do a diagnostic, said they had to wait for a part. She has been waiting and trying to get ahold of someone to take her car back. We have gone to the shop, to see her car sitting in the lot with no one in sight. We contacted the Secretary of state and they gave us 2 different fax numbers to get ahold of them.Next we are going to call the police.DO NOT do business here.

My husband needed a part for his car so Carl said he would order it through one of his suppliers. We paid him for the part but months later, it still hadn't come in. My husband found the part himself and ordered it so Carl agreed to refund the money paid for the part. Over 6 months later, after multiple conversations, We still do have the refund. Now the shop is seemingly closed and Carl is impossible to get a hold of.

Andy was amazing. His customer service skills are as amazing at the shop's ability to get things done right, quickly and at a more than fair price. Without any hesitation, I would recommend the business to anyone with needs large, small or complex. Great job. T.G.M

Straight up great shop. Had my car here 3 times and always happy with their work. Once, they couldn't repair something because their diagnostic machine was temporarily on the fritz so they didn't charge me a nickel, diagnostics free of charge. Place is always busy so recommend going in early.

From simple oil changes to large car repairs this place has never let me down. They are always honest with the repairs that need to be done and fairly priced but the best part is you leave with the piece of mind that everything was done correctly and professionally. Make sure to call ahead to check availability because they are such a great place they are always busy.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

Our truck broke down last night and I found Duaine's Automotive through a google search this morning. Not only was Bob willing to get us a quote as fast as possible, he was able to have the repairs done the same day. The issue ended up being minor but the fact that he squeezed us in to get the vehicle back to us same day was very impressive. Not a lot of businesses do that. Bob called to tell us the issue and since we needed our brakes replaced we asked him if he could do those while he had the truck and it was no problem. The price was very fair and the work was great. We will definitely be using Duaine's Automotive again and again. I don't write reviews very often but I felt they deserved for people to know how great they are.

I ve been going to this shop for 20 years and I ll never go any where else. They have never disappointed me. I can rely on them because they do excellent work. When I hear horror stories from others I feel truly blessed because I ve never had an issue with them.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Duaines is currently under investigation for failure to return vehicles. Multiple complaints of failure to return vehicles, Multiple "reasons" for why said vehicles are not ready. They refuse to answer phone calls and or return messages. Please do not use duaines, if you wish to walk from here on out.

These guys are very friendly. We were unfortunate to break down at the gas pump...bad starter. Found them on Google and called them up. They got us towed and sorted out by mid afternoon. Sad thing for me was I was at their mercy. I can easily swap out a starter. But not knowing the area, I couldn't just get towed somewhere I could work on it. I know labor fees are high and towing is what it is. But I would never have paid $160 for a starter. Again, just trying to get back on the road. That aside, great group of guys. Saw us same day without an appointment. Got the job done. Thanks.

I took my Volvo to Carl and he claimed to know about my engine. He kept my car for 26 days and couldn't fix it. My car had to be towed back to my home, and was in worse condition. My A/C dial was broken, which was fairly new, and I had paid $245 just for the part. Carl and his wife Alicia all the most rude people that I and my sister have ever met. They never pick up the phone or returning your phone call or text. Carl told my sister Colleen, that he knew what was wrong with my car, and refused to tell her. I have spoken to AAA towing and many other mechanics, that have told me not to go to Duaine's Automotive. I wish I had known that before I went there. My car was left in an uncovered parking lot and they could not even wash it. The reason I went there is because I heard about the original owner of the shop Duaine, who had a good reputation, before the shop was sold to Carl Brown. When I had my IAT sensor installed, he was not aware that he had to reprogram my ECU, Throttle and Idel, to get my car running. Unfortunately he didn't do his homework. Lorena.

We found this location while on vacation with my family when our air conditioner went out. Knowing our situation, they scheduled us right away and then gave us multiple options to fix the issue based on our vacation schedule. I would highly recommend this location.

I went to Dwane for a problem I was dealing with from another company. Dwane explain everything to me. In detail. Hes an honest man to me. When Dwane did a check on my car. My car was just fine. The other company gave me faults info. I will go back to Dwane again. So if you need an honest opinion. Go see Him.

Do not go to Duaines Automotive on Basic and Boulder Hwy. I have gone there for almost decade and used to recommend friends to go there, but the place has gone down hill tremendously. I brought my car in to have work done. The mechanic misdiagnosed the issue with my car, and did damage to my power steering pump while replacing parts that didn't need to be replaced anyways. My car still has the same issue as when I brought it in, plus now a broken power steering pump that leaks fluid. Of course now Duane's is trying to charge me for the pump they broke, plus now they've diagnosed the actual issue I brought the car in for in the first place. Hundreds of dollars later and my car is in worse shape than when I brought it in. I've been dealing with the new owner of Duane's, Carl. I tipped Carl $20 when I picked the car up the first time. What a mistake. What a nightmare. Never use Duaine's!

In all honesty, I am completely disappointed. My family and I own 4 cars to our household, and had been taking all of our vehicles for repairs here for the last two years. I'm not sure what has happned, but this year we noticed the cost of repairs seemed to be high. After spending over $2000 in the last month on two of our vehicles here, we decided to do some research. First, we found out that Duaine's automotive claims to put in parts the customer brings in, when we asked "Bob" to put in a part we bought locally because the cost of his part was more than double what we found, he said no, he "wouldn't trust it to do the work." Hmmmm. Then we researched some more and found that they were doubling their prices in other parts he had replaced in our vehicles over a nine month spread. Also, claiming to be working 4 hours labor on a simple job and most mechanics state should have only taken 2 hours labor MAX. That means he doubled his service bill on several occasions over the last nine month span. Not sure if hard economical times has affected the honesty and reliability of this place, but definitely thought everyone should know. This is very disappointing since we were so comfortable with Duaine's over the last two years and thought everything was great. But then all of this starts happening. It sucks!

Have taken my Kia van and Hummer H3 here and have been very happy with service. As far as the review regarding bringing your own parts - I doubt any reliable mechanic will allow you to buy your own parts and bring in to install. Try that at the dealer and see what they tell you. If you buy your own parts, then do the repair yourself.

A Genuine lifesaver. My nissan murano is running better than ever! My car could not pass smog due to engine light. They fixed the light and a few other repairs that now has my car performing much better. Thank you!

My mom and her friends recommended this place they are honest faithful and they take good care of their people I highly highly recommend these people if you have any problems with your car at all. They are great and honest.

TOTAL RIP OFF! Took car in 3 times to fix electrical problem, spent over $1,000, and it was never fixed. The 3rd time, the car broke down on the way home and I spent 3 hours in 115 degree weather waiting for tow truck. At least, thanks to Duaine's, I got very acquainted with the local bus service. Had it towed to Aloha and it was fixed right away and no problems. I talked to the guy at Aloha and he said he used to work at Duaines. I guess the good mechanics are all gone from Duaines and now they just have the dregs working there. To spend that much money to not have it fixed, and having the car towed several times, Duaines doesn't give a ratzazz. They don't care if your car is fixed or not, and seemed bothered that you keep coming back with the same problem. Stay away. I think they are coasting on their past cred.

Great job !!.....completing a '96 transmission job that posed many obstacles without charging extra or conveying frustration. I'm new to the area, so I'll be their customer as well as refer anyone who has automotive needs. A Big Thank You!
