There are 4 auto repair shops in Fernley rated 4.0 stars or higher. The 1st one we called doesn't diagnose/troubleshoot electrical systems. The 2nd couldn't get us in to investigate our battery light (new battery) 'til the next day. The 3rd didn't answer their phone & we couldn't leave messages, even 40min after their advertised open time.Kenneth at MK returned my call 20min BEFORE his scheduled open time, fixed our 2007 250K-mile Corolla (bad alternator & shredded serpentine belt replacements) in about 3 hours, and stayed 30 minutes late when I got stuck in Fallon/Churchill construction traffic.Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty for customer service: this shop did all that and more, for a reasonable price, and installed a remanufactured alternator with a lifetime guarantee.If you need great, GREAT Service at superhuman speed and a good price, look no further than MK's. Alternator died on I-80 during a family trip to California. Fortunately, we weren t too far from Fernley, NV. MK saved the day and our vacation. Fixed the alternator within 24 hrs and got us back on the road. Reasonably priced. Great communication. If I lived closer he d be my go to mechanic. I was told it might take two days before truck could be looked at. A few hours later they called and said it was repaired. Super job!! No gouging with very reasonable charge.

The owner is an amazing guy with a great sense of customer understanding and patience. Unlike the corporate takeover of many businesses like this nowadays, he stands out as a new fave with a classic approach to old style customer service. He made things possible for me in the toughest moment in my life so far. I cannot thank him and his staff enough for the things they did.

I will be using MK's for anything I might need from now on.Sometimes it's difficult to find a car repair shop that you can trust. Upsell, upsell, upsell is generally their motto. Not this establishment from my experience. He kept me apprised of everything going on and didn't try to upsell or overcharge me.I appreciate that very much.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Very happy with them they were honest fix my issue and gave me my bad part ! Worked fast and car working like new again happy as can be ! If your bill is going to be kinda high they won't charge u a dignastic fee like 400$ and up very satisfied ! Good job guys! And thank you

*****attention*****So I had taken my car to MKS Auto Repair shop to have a transmission seal. Valve seals. Exhaust. Turbo. Water pump. Head studs.put in . ECT pretty much everything but the bottom end. So I ask him where he got the head work done and he tells me hughes machine in fallon. So I call them and Hughes tells me that they only had the head surface checked for 20 dollars. Now I'm wondering what else he re used on the car?? While he collected my money. And he told me he needs $1,500 up front to order the parts . Which I've never had to do .. I didn't get none of my old Parts back . And he couldn't provide me with any other receipts . ended up having to bring My car back to him to have them fix my trans seal. Turned out the transmission was completely full. So I took my car to Nevada auto diagnostics and drained 4 or 5 courts out of the transmission. The transmission was overheating and causing me to be stuck on the side of the road... I spent 2800 bucks at his shop for him to just put back on the head that has bad valve seals. He tried to tell me that it was my piston rings . So I asked him how are you making that assumption? Did you do a compression test? Ken said no. without doing a compression test you won't know. The guy couldn't even look me in the face. When I confronted him... left with the same problem. That I brought my car in for the first place!. valve seals that leak in to my engine causing it to still smoke. And he said it's the piston rings. Lmao. But could not show me a reciept from the machine shop. Now I'm having to do a head job again. The whole reason I brought it to him in the first place . I would never reccomend their shop.*****update******also found stop leak in my coolant. I move to Vegas and I told the guy that. Was having cooling issues down here in vegas and ended up flushing my coolant. I noticed he didn't tighten a banjo bolt down enough to crush the crush washer enough from keeping the coolant return line to the turbo from leaking. Smh. Kid is a rookie. *

Had an intoxalock appointment set up. Just never showed up on a monday during buisness hours. Both me and the company attempted multiple emails and calls with no answer.Got a call a couple days later saying he didnt come in. ....I know

MK's Diesel is a small town auto shop that also rents Uhalls Trucks and it seems as though it's a busy place it a small location next to the pink Berger shop on main Street kind of hard to see at first, however, if you go past the pink Berger you gone to far.
