I m writing this for my boyfriend who has been a client there twice. If we could rate zero we would. They take the car for a week at a time. When he would call about it he would be bounced around from person to person bcause nobody wanted to talk. They would also play phone tag constantly. I feel like they're trying to screw him over because he is disabled and they feel like they can e advantage of him.They said at first that it was under warranty for but when he had Between both jobs he spent $3200. He just picked the car up from them and within 20 minutes of driving it it s already leaking antifreeze faster than ever. I don t know about everyone else but after spending $3200 I expect the problem to be fixed but it s not. He s now having to wait on the tow truck to be able to get it home. They don t fix problems, they make them worse.Service: Engine repair

How often do you get to say "it was a pleasure having my vehicle repaired"? The whole team was awesome and they had my Jeep ready to go the very next day, in time for our travel to Colorado, saving me the price of a costly, last-minute, plane ticket. There is no doubt that Auto Specialists are now my go-to for any auto repair or maintenance requirements.

Went Last week for the dreaded SMOG check (it passed ) . I did a casual look about from the office area and WOW,, this joint is Clean,, the yard is tidy,, and the Service bays that I could actually see were equally well cared for. Obviously the technicians are proud of their spaces.I'm an Avid DIY mechanic,, but when I don't have the specific experience or equipment for a task I have to seek outside assistance.This shop clearly has my attention.

Excellent customer service! I have been a customer for a number of years now and have had numerous vehicles serviced and repaired at Auto Specialists. I have never been disappointed . Fair pricing, honest assessments, and good quality work! Lee and Brandon provide excellent communications and take the time to explain in detail any exceptions. A repair shop that you can trust! Highly Recommend. Flawless experience with Impeccable, Highly Trained, Professional, Knowledgeable staff. I have extensive automotive repair experience, but even i hit a dead-end every now and then. That's when Lee and Brandon and their team step in. They recently repaired my 2009 Mercedes Benz GL450 (130,000 miles) with complicated, extensive mechanical and electronic issues. The local dealership was completely lost. Beware .Very dissatisfied with no lasting resolution and my wife as well as I feel totally taken advantage of. So I leave this sad review. Never my attention but my only option for recourse.I called last week and had a detailed conversation with a gentlemen from this shop about wanting an alignment and would they be able to achieve a correct alignment on our Jeep Wrangler. They reassured me that it was not a problem. I was told I could drop it off at 830am and would be done by 10:30am. They ended up keeping my my car all day and did not hold true to the appointment. They would now get to it when they want, not when they promised, which meant I had to work and my wife would then take an entire day off of making money/work just to wait. That means we lost money on her not working. We are struggling like many financially as of 2023. This was only beginning to snowball.She picks up the Jeep and drives it home. She stated over the phone that the tires look uneven and crooked. I get home from work and my tires are visually not aligned and canted outward in each direction. Never seen an alignment that was not parallel. The drivers tire cants outward more than the passenger and both are unaligned. This will surely cause tire wear patterns that will ruin the tread and make it uneven plus undesirable steering issues. Well, this Jeep obviously needs to go back to them and addressed properly, mistakes happen, right?. I had to be in at 6am today to work so once again, my darling wife has to help out. She takes it in, talks to staff very gently and kindly and they refuse to speak with her and only wanting a discussion with me over the phone while I am working, as if she is dumb or incompetent. She dropped it off originally and even paid for it as well as picked it up. Why not listen to what she has to say and help her with an easy resolution. Either fix it and or return our payment. Not asking for anymore or any less. Pretty easy and very reasonable.Well, we got screwed I feel like. Another business who is happy to take your money, promise you a service they struggle to provide, not address it properly and even offer a resolution. The mechanic refused to help her and even walk out and look at the tires as well as his team and yet she still was gentle and kind to them.Beware Their response should have been Sorry we did not hold true to your appointment. We understand time is valuable and we would also like you to give us another opportunity. You as a customer should feel you are valued and we would like another opportunity to address the issue kindly. Hope to hear from you soon Instead you have an explanation based on someone being defensive and almost narcissistic or arrogant explaining their meticulous service yet my front tires are pointing in opposite directions and the drivers side is even far worse. Dangerous to even drive Took it to a 4x4 shop and issue resolved. Auto specialists took our money happily, and our time while also the lady their (owner or rep) being rude and abrupt to my wife. She is clueless about sales. It s apparent. Could have been an easy fix if you place your ego out of the way.Good luck if you choose them.

I did love them at first. Till I called home ( canada) and found out that there s no way I could have reset the data on my car! They told me that they couldn t find the data because someone reset it. I thought I did it by pressing the check mark on my car. I was wrong. My dealership told me that they shouldn t have charged us 200$ cause they did nothing for us other then change a filter . . . Then I was told. I was supposed to be asked prior to any work being done on my car! They changed the air filter with out me being able to say yes or no. When I came back to ask how long she had the air filter torn out already. . . So. As much as I appreciate the help. I feel ripped off and victimized. I trusted them and that was my fault. If your out of country ! Call your dealership first. Then ask what to do! You might not get ripped off and spend 200$ us. I didn t want to leave a review. But this is the 3rd time they texted me asking me to leave them one. Hopefully it gets kicked back to them and not to the public. Byers be forewarned !

Went for oil change... Ended up in taking car to an other shop because I had a leak from the oil filter. As a plus they broke the air duct and I had to order one online and glue the broken one.I'm giving 2* because the owner wrote me a check to cover the extra money I had to come out with.Overall: I'll pass!

Update to my previous four star rating. They don't stand behind work despite their lip service. Beware if traveling through Boulder NV. Despite assuring me they would replace the pinion seal they installed after it started leaking after the second day. I had to pay twice for the same job. At least now after two months and a thousand miles it doesn't leak anymore.

This place is a joke. Do not bring your car here because once you leave the place your car is gunna have more problem. Don t believe what the owner lee says she will lie straight to your face just to make that extra buck. Brenden thinks he know what he s talking about but really doesnt know. Oh yeah don t ask them to help out with a rental because they will not help they will say it s not there problem even when your car is sitting in there lot for a month. Smog check was quick and fairly priced. Same for an oil change a few weeks later. No complaints. Happy to find a quality shop close to home.

These amazing people have gained my trust when it comes to working on my vehicles. I've had more than one car worked on more than a handful of times at this place and I have never been disappointed. It's so hard to find a really honest good mechanic anywhere for anyone, and I was of course hoping that nothing would go wrong after my vehicles were worked on because of the bad luck I've had with other mechanics. But that wasn't the case here they're efficient honest affordable and reliable as far as I'm concerned. They have taken great care of me and I've never had an issue with any of my vehicles but I've gotten them back. I'm having a new engine dropped into my truck here and I've yet to get it back but I know when I do I'm going to have a great running truck because of them. I'll update my review if I need to but if anybody's looking for an honest reliable affordable mechanic this is your place to go! I would never take my vehicles anywhere else. I'm so appreciative of everybody here.

I have been going here for years, always fair and Honest service. I reccomend them highly. I live 30 minutes away and make the drive. It is worth it know you ate getting good honest work done. Lee the service writer is a gem of a person. Brandon, and Jim are also great.

Had an odd problem with my vehicle. First to respond to my quote and the best price. Had them do a full tune up, oil change and an AC charge as well at the time of repair. They were awesome, quick and efficient. Car runs like new! Highly recommend!

An absolute top notch business! I have been taking all of our family vehicles to Auto Specialists for several years now and over time have come to appreciate more and more the high level of integrity and excellent service! We are quite fortunate to have this repair shop conveniently located right here in Boulder City. Lee has always taken great care to ensure the diagnosis and resolution options are clearly understood by us non mechanical folks. When she is not available Brandon steps in with the same customer focus. Great service, fair prices, honest work, and timely service. Spent a $100 to do an inspection to make a sure no major expense. They didn't find any major issues. On the way home from purchasing the truck, the transmission shudder at 45mph. I called and talked with Lee, she wants to charge another $100 to find a problem they missed during the inspection. Now I have a $9,000 truck with unknown issues. I purchased the truck based on there assessment of truck. I am not going back and would not recommend this shop to anyone.Taking the truck back is not an option. They said they would waive the fees is I had them do the repair, but they are missing the whole point, I trusted them to do a complete inspection before I purchased the truck for $9,000. I asked Brandon two basic questions, is the engine good and is the transmission good. He replied yes. I would have expected a huge apology and we will not charge $100 more for the diagnostic because we missed it. Not test driving at hwy speeds is just wrong. I rarely post any negative feedback, but still left with a potential expensive repair on a truck I would not purchased base on the transmission stumbling at 45mph or less.

The customer service at this place is the worst I ve ever come across. When I spoke to Lee I made her aware my family and I were traveling, for some reason Lee decided it would be okay not to let me know my cars hood latch was supposedly broken upon arrival , I have never had a problem with my hood in the 2 years I ve drove it. After giving me my car Lee also failed to let me know my cars hood was stuck closed after the repairs. Why? Her reason was because I did not pay her to open my hood. The next day my family and I were on our way back home and the car started having problems again. As we got down to check it out we realized the hood was stuck closed. We had to spend the night at a gas station on the side of highway 93, when we finally got our car towed to Auto Specialists Lee said the hood was already broken and she would have to charge me to repair it. When I asked why did she not let me know my hood was stuck closed she simply said she forgot. She didn t even apologize for the inconvenience she caused my family.The technicians at this shop are the only reason this place is in business. They are the best! Thank you to them, and only them!

They were great. Truck was over heating and we were driving through town. They got us in right away. Found out what the problem was. Got it fixed right away and we got us back on the road. Not only that but we safely got to out destination 12hrs away so definitely fixed us up! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Very kind to us as well. Its scary trying to find a decent mechanic when you are traveling. There customer service could use some improvements, like calling back when they say there going too. The tech are very knowledgeable! The reason I m giving a low rating, they over price the parts! Highly recommend, this business saved my tail. I am an out of towner that had my truck towed to this shop. They put in extra time just to make sure my family was able to get back on the road. I wasn t taken advantage of and was given a SUPER FAIR rate for the work done. This place deserves all the business in the world. Thanks so much to the team that helped me out!!! It really means the world to me.

Great service! Stopped at Auto Specialists late in the day for a smog test, no appt but I was taken care of promptly and was on my way in less than 20 minutes. We have taken all our cars here since 2013 and are very happy with all services performed, from smog tests to oil changes to repairs on European cars, they do it all. Highly recommend this excellent Boulder City business!

We were driving through on a multi day camping trip. We had a short in my husband's truck causing the turn signal to be out and the gear shifter to be locked in park. Not wanting to risk it, we bit the bullet in an unfamiliar town and looked up a mechanic. Fortunately we were welcomed by Lee who quickly put us at ease. She estimated the price up front and got her electrician on it quickly. The weather was great while we sat on some patio chairs for about an hour.When we paid, the price came to what we were quoted. The people were friendly to us and our dog. The price was fair and service was efficient. It would have been easy to upcharge us, but we left knowing we were taken care of. I can't say we will be back unless by chance again, but I would recommend them any time.

Extremely disappointed. I called the business yesterday afternoon for an estimate. I explained the diagnosis from another specialist and based on my car's age and history the lady (owner) suggested to definitely get a second opinion. So we agreed that I take the car in today for an opinion and will see from then. She gave me an estimate of $480 right away (even before I told her any details) and told me that the diagnosis will take about a half an hour which was perfect since I had an appointment just after that.Today I arrived, the check was quick and I got the second opinion which was different from the other specialist's (free) estimate and a somewhat cheaper solution for me. Then I reminded her that I had to leave and have the work get done at a later time. She then told me that my car was already taken apart and I would need to pay a $50 charge if I decided to leave and take the car back later. The problem with this that she KNEW that I'm going only for a diagnosis from our phone conversation the previous day and she never mentioned the diagnosis fee. She asked where my appointment was (0.3 miles distance), then she offered me to get a replacement car to get there, so I decided to leave my car and have the work to be done. Big mistake.I got back about 40 minutes later, already with a bad taste because I was basically forced to leave my car (or pay a fee that I didn't know about), which I was not ready for because I did not come for that.While I was waiting I spotted the AAA sign which made me a little happier and I asked the receptionist to apply the 10% labor discount if possible. She went to ask the owner who sent me the message that she will fix it at the end.When my car was ready I received the bill with the first, original estimate, without the AAA discount. I again asked the receptionist lady who, again called the owner. The owner lady came over and informed me that she already gave me a discounted price (what, where, when?), so she cannot apply the AAA. She charged me the exact same price she told me on the phone ($480), but on my bill she wrote $519 for the original estimate which simply is a LIE. She also said that I still came out good, because the other shop wanted to charge me more (how is this relevant, that was for a different service). Also, that I should have mentioned the AAA discount before the service, not after (shouldn't be an issue, the AAA discount is not a coupon and is NEVER asked beforehand). This just topped the whole thing and gave me the most terrible experience ever for a car service. And the terrible irony that I received this experience from a lady (against all the men mechanic stereotypes). Very, very bad business model.I wish I had left after the diagnosis with the $50 fee, but I ignored the bad signs. I'm only giving 2 stars because the service was fast and the lady at the reception was nice.

I have used Auto Specialists for service on most of my vehicles for the last 30 years. They have always been honest, fair and accurate with their suggested repairs. I have a great amount of confidence when I take my vehicles to their shop knowing that the repairs will be completed correctly and at a fair price. Thanks to a great team.

Very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They correctly diagnosed my vehicle's issue and fixed it saving me hundreds of dollars. Another local mechanic not only misdiagnosed the issue, they also wanted to charge me $2000! I will continue to take my vehicles here.

Absolute worst experience I've ever had at any mechanic, especially within boulder city. The owner has no customer service what so ever as she threatened to keep my car or pay her for a diagnostic fee that was not agreed upon. then proceeded to hang up on me. Lee you are by far the most unprofessional business owner I have ever encountered. She told me my car is not leaking any fluids and I pick my car up and drive it 2 miles and it is now leaking coolant immediately after turning the car off. DO NOT GIVE THIS LOCAL BUSINESS OUR LOCAL MONEY

My truck needed a new AC installed, it's too hot out here to drive around without AC! Lee with Auto Specialists is AMAZING! Lee is very knowledgeable and her crew is very speedy. I'm always in good hands with Auto Specialists! The price was right and job was well done! I have referred my entire family! Thank you!

We had a great experience with them. We are full time RVers and needed to have the torque converter replaced (part of the transmission). They ordered the part and accommodated our schedule needs and did excellent work! I highly reccomend them.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission
