Love this place, good honest people. After taking my vehicle to a couple other shops in town and being massively let down. Something as simple as an alignment was impossible at two other shops and I was just given excuses. Gene s Automotive had the job done in no time, and talking with the tech that did the work he clearly knew his stuff and explained everything perfectly. After that I decided to bring my other vehicle to them that I had been having issues with for a long time, they did excellent troubleshooting and worked with me on what to do since I had installed new factory parts that seemed to be failing, along with other parts that were contributing to the problem. All in all I would tell anyone this is a place you can trust! And I look forward to doing business with them again in the future!

Gene s was great to work with. They got the problem solved with my Ford Explorer. They were very honest and easy to work with. They found the problem and fixed it in a very timely matter. It s hard finding a good honest mechanic place these days. This is the place to go! Would highly recommend them for any car problems!

I brought my car to Gene s Auto Repair because it started acting up only a few days before I was supposed to take it on a 500 mile road trip. They got me in before I was supposed to leave and assured me that as long as I didn t need a part that was on back order, they d have the car ready for my road trip. When I took it to them they found that my car needed an idle relearn, which is a very simple procedure. They did it for me and didn t try to sell me on anything else. I m giving four stars instead of five because $170 for labor for a 15 minute fix with no parts involved seems a bit pricey. But they were very honest, helpful, and quick.

Since we've started bringing our vehicles to Gene's, they have been good to us. It's very difficult to find an honest car service shop and Gene's is truly a rare find.

If you are ever in need for a mechanic this is the place to go! The shop was clean and friendly. The service was explained in great detail , I had options on what needed to be done and what was a priority to keep me safely operating on the road. I never once doubted the genuine concern and honesty from their advisor, Matt. I have referred many friends and family to Gene's and will continue to do so. No weekend hours and they close incredibly early at 5pm so if you can t pay up Friday by close they re going to keep your vehicle over the weekend.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with this business.While their parts pricing and labor costs are on the high end of the industry average, what really bothered me was the fact that they charged me for labor time that was significantly higher than what it would normally take to complete the job.I felt like I was taken advantage. While they may have gotten me once, they will not be getting my business again.Services: Auto maintenance, Oil change

Absolutely stay away! I originally dropped vehicle off at Genes auto and truck here in Papillion to get some extended warranty work completed, this was in October.. it has been three weeks that truck has been at genes auto and truck, Alpha warranty honored the contract and provided Matt (representative of genes auto and truck) with a replacement transmission, the techs at the shop installed the transmission and they stated it was a defective transmission and they needed to replace it again before any work was authorized or completed I specifically asked what will be the total, he stated verbatim.. $180 for fluids, your warranty covers the rest I then waited for the vendor to deliver another transmission. On Thursday of last week (11/17/22) the transmission was delivered, I was under the impression it wouldn t arrive until Friday (11/18/22), truck was completed on Thursday (11/18/22) and no one reached out to me to let me know what was going on, I had to continuously call and touch base with Matt and Nichole. I called Friday morning to see what was going on and Nichole stated Matt was on lunch and would return my call, he never did, I waited until 4:54 pm and tried calling again, I was able to speak with Matt and he informed me truck has been completed and they were waiting for vendor to pay a portion of the second transmission replacement. I call again this morning to see what s going on Matt states to me that there is a bill in the sum of $800+, I immediately remind him he originally quoted me $180 for fluids long story short I was forced to call the police in order to get vehicle picked up, the total again fluctuated and went down to $531 even though I was quoted $180 Upon leaving the shop, Matt was upset and stated even though everything has been paid (almost $6,000) that any of the work they completed they will not warranty. Absolutely unprofessional. Beware. I have video evidence of entire interaction, I will be filing a small claims suit this week. please save yourself the headache and put your trust in a shop that has customer service, values, morals and integrity.Services: Transmission, Transmission replacement

My family and I have been coming here for years! They are the only mechanic shop that I wholeheartedly trust to always be honest and do a good job with repairs. Stay Away, horrible business ethics. My son's father took his truck in for a warranty repair. He was told that his out of pocket cost would be less than $200. The first transmission that came in was defective and they ordered a new one. Long story short, and 3 weeks later, after multiple calls not being returned he was told he could pick up his truck. Upon picking it up the cost was now $800. After some discussion, the tech told him give him $600 and he could take the truck. Bottom line they wanted to charge him for the cost of fluids they were out for the defective transmission and charged him for random things (lugnuts etc) that were never authorized. After going to pay for the truck, he was basically told his business was not wanted and " his type" is not wanted at their shop. This is all on video. He is hispanic and he also had my 5 year old son with him. He has video of the employees treating him horribly and saying very degrading and condescending things in front of my child. So after having the tuck for 3 weeks, trying to charge him triple, & finally charging him over double, he was also treated as though he didn't belong in the business. My son's father planned on spending $200 and instead had to pay $600 just to get his truck back. The money he spent was for my sons holiday gifts and obviously caused a huge burden for a single father at the end of the year. It's sad that in 2022 businesses are still so comfortable with being selective on which type of customers or what color of customers deserve to be at the very least, treated with respect. Stay far away from this place!

Always get the absolute best, most trustworthy service here. We're very thankful to have a mechanic who is up to date on the latest in auto service AND not trying to rip us off. We've taken our vehicles here for over 20 years. If you're looking for and peace of mind when it comes to auto repair, go meet Tim and the crew at Gene's Auto. They have never failed to fix whatever is broken at a VERY reasonable price.

The staff was very friendly. They were able to get my mom in the day we called. They had to find a new wheel for her and it took less than an hour. The other place we called said it would take a week at it was double the price. Thank for doing my mom right!

Awesome! Dropped my truck off after hours. Had a call from Tim by 8am with a full diagnosis and estimate. Needed a whole exhaust replacement and the estimate was much cheaper than I anticipated after looking up some of the parts on my own. Tim was very courteous. My truck was ready to go by lunch time the same day, and the final price was below the initial estimate. Will definitely be returning! Thanks again fellas.Service: Exhaust

Genes auto has serviced my vehicles for at least 20 yrs now. I tell people that I trust my mechanic with my life and my children's lives. Very true and makes all the difference when driving your family in a car with attention to detail on your brakes, engine etc. Thank you Gene's Auto for quality work & service that always exceeds my hopes & expectations!

My car broke down in the area over night, and I wasn't familiar with any auto repair shops. I towed it to Gene's and they reached out the next morning and was able to get it fixed at a reasonable price within a day! Great service, kind people, and very helpful! I will definitely use them again!

I needed my taillight changed and they got me in the same day I called. They were very friendly and efficient as well as very reasonably priced. I am new to the area and will definitely be using them for my car maintenance in the future!

My trucks carrier bearing broke and I was recommended to come to Genes, and I m beyond glad I did. Turns out I needed a new drive shaft.They were super nice and told me everything straight, and when it came to ordering a new part they didn t try and sell me the most expensive thing, just the thing that would work best. Not to mention my truck was done sooner then expected. I ll definitely be coming back here.

I went to Genes based on all the positive Google reviews. Scheduled an appointment for 3 items to be serviced. Day of appointment I'm describing the issues I was having with vehicle and Gene came off as rude, acted annoyed I was even talking, and looked at me like I was an idiot. He made me immediately uncomfortable, but I told myself they are raved about online so maybe he was just having a bad day. The lady in the office was very friendly. I since had to go back to point out a minor issue that I discovered and he was rude again. Honestly if he's that irritable and PO'd of a person how does keep staff? He definitely comes off as someone miserable/unhappy. Whether or not it was his intent, he also gave me the impression he was not thrilled to work on my type of vehicle, and it was a burden. Lastly, nobody thanked me for my business when I picked up the car and paid cash ($440 later). Seems like the most basic level of customer service you can extend is Thank the customer!!! I have leased multiple vehicles over the years and spent enough time dealing with service advisors at various dealerships for routine maintenance work, I generally know what to expect; this experience was by far the rudest I have gotten anywhere I have visited. Now that I have an older vehicle i need a reliable mechanic, but will not be back to Gene's. Obviously they are doing very well and dont need my business based on all the cars in their lot and all the postive reviews. They didn't care about me as a customer, they certainly aren't going to care about my review but thought I should share my experience as a recent review. Fyi... i have never left a Google review for any business so that speaks to the poor experience I had. Honestly all I expected was a friendly hello when I arrived, "what can we help you with"? And then be coordial when I'm explaining the problem, and finally a genuine "thank you for your business" at the end of the transaction (its a small business for petes sake, that's what you expect!) Im sure the mechanics do great work, as they can't be this popular for this many years if they weren't. Im just baffled why I was treated this way???

I have zero complaints about Gene's. They've always been upfront and honest and polite and hard working. Been taking my cars up there since high school. Never had any problems with these guys.

First time to use Gene's. They did a good job on my son's truck and they have a great deal with the Enterprise rental place across the street. I'm glad my co-worker recommended them.

I had a car that the engine went out on. I couldn't buy a new car And needed it replaced. Most shops will not do this cause of high labor costs. I felt like they treated me very well and honestly did a good job explaining costs and things needed and not needed done on car. Highly recommend and they were very respectful and honest throughout the process

Gene's is a great place to get auto repair and maintenance. The staff is helpful, friendly, and honest. Pricing is average for auto repairs, but worth it for the quality of service.
