my truck has been in and out of his shop many times for random things he has done an amazing job on it and even if i move away from gretna i will drive out here to get an oil change he is the best

Mark is a really nice guy. He helped us with our A/C and was able to get it fixed. It ended up being a big repair but I think he priced us fairly.I saw some negative reviews here but it seems like they're related to the time it takes. He's a one man operation so if you need bigger repairs done like we did, it may take him a few days (maybe longer depending on how busy he is) before he can get to it.If you live in Gretna, I recommend him.

Mark is always very honest and fair. He does great work and wont rip you off like other auto mechanic places will. I have been going to Hintz for years for both my Ford and Mitsubishi and will continue to take my cars to Hintz.

This mechanic is a good man. He has fixed my Jeep half a million times, and is great with warranty work. Anyone who has a negative review on here is 100% not telling the full story, he fixes every single vehicle my family owns.

I don t know the gentleman who works on my car personally, but I m offended at the bogus bad reviews. EVERY TIME I take my care here, because my car is an old beater, he tells me what s wrong with it, the severity of the issue, and a realistic timeline of when/if it has to be done without ever being prompted for that information. My dad was a certified master technician auto mechanic for 20+ years but can t tinker the way he used to on my car. I always double check what I m told by any mechanic with my dad. The gentleman at Hintz has NEVER steered me wrong or tried to deceive me or over charge me, and he doesn t know me at all. He is an honest, damn good mechanic.

Hintz Auto Repair Gretna.. Mark has serviced all of our automobiles for years and we always keep coming back because of honesty/knowledge/Price/Service/family owned.. Mark has been doing work for our family for years, he has never ever let us down. Hes friendly and helpful and gets the job done right. Anyone with issues on here, I can assure you it is 100% on YOUR end not Hintz.

Mr. Hintz was respectful and timely in fixing my car. He communicated the exact problem truthfully and actually fixed my car! I would recommend his integrity in business and knowledge of car mechanics to anyone looking for a good mechanic!

We are prime candidates for being taken advantage of by mechanics, not knowing the first thing about cars. Took our Jetta there a month or so ago, thinking we had major transmission issues... turns out the fluid just needed flushed and refilled. $80 later we were on our way.Right now, we're in the process of getting the steering on our son's pickup figured out. Another mechanic in town was saying it was going to cost us thousands of dollars to get it fixed! Mark had us bring it over to him. Again, less than a hundred bucks and we're on our way. The steering's not quite where we want it to be yet, but Mark tried the first thing it might be... for minimal cost... rather than immediately telling us we need the whole front end rebuilt!Hintz Auto has won all of our business from now on!

Unfortunately we had a lousy experience and felt deceived. We were told that we were getting "his cost" for a light bulb and were given a fair rate for installation. After getting home and finding out that "his cost" for a light bulb at $170 was $40 more than the cost I could get if I walked into any of the 3 major auto part stores ($70 higher than online), we were either lied to or somehow the auto part stores dislike him so much that they mark up their products when he comes in. I'm not sure which one of these options happened, but dishonesty was involved at some point. I'm all for someone getting paid fairly for a job well done (which he did), but my primary motive in choosing a mechanic is feeling that it's honest work and that's the opposite of how I felt when I walked away. When I called and brought this difference up, there wasn't much said, except that it was his cost for the bulb. It certainly may have been the truth - not for me to decide. In the end, I either got lied to or part stores dislike him and he definitely lost my business.

Most people have a long, drawn-out, and emotional story of how they felt taken advantage of at Jiffy Lube.My experience with Hintz Auto Repair is nothing like this. I have been taking my family's cars to Hintz for the last five years and have been nothing but impressed. Like most people who live in Gretna, I don't work in Gretna. I drive many miles every day to my place of work. Because of this, I take my car to Hintz a lot to get the oil changed.When I first brought my car to Hintz, I expected the normal mechanic sales pitch: "You need your HEPA filter changed," "Have you noticed your serpentine belt is loose?" But it was not like this with Hintz. I asked if there was anything that needed addressing and he said, "I'll let you know if there is something of concern."This may not seem impressive to many, but at my previous oil change before taking my car to HIntz, I was told I needed over $1,000 worth of work done on my car ASAP. That mechanic made it seem like if I didn't address those problems then and there someone looking at my car funny would make it catch fire, lock up, flip five times and finally blow up in a bigger explosion than last summer's Michael Bay movie.I specifically asked Hintz about these problems and he told me they were not a big concern yet and he reiterated that he would tell me when it was time to get them fixed. Five years and over 100k miles laters, some of those problems needed fixed. He told me and fixed them for a very reasonable rate. Some of the issues still have not caused me any problems.In my opinion, this is the mark of an honest mechanic.

Spent around $700 dollars to get my sons airconditionig supposedly fixed. It halfway worked, for about a month, when I went back up there to complain he said he was to busy to get to it, that I d have to leave it up there , and he might be able to get to it in a couple of weeks . Who can go without there car for that long.Well my son happened to be out of the country so I said ok. So it sat up there for three weeks before he called and said it was fixed, which it wasn t.He does half assed work.He didn t replace all the parts your supposed when you replace a air conditioning compressor like the dryer . Still doesn t work. I would never recommend him to anyone. Don t go to Hintz auto repair, it s more like Chintzy auto dispair!

We made an appointment 3 weeks ago took our vehicle in waited 3 days to hear something and he hadn't even looked at our vehicle. I'm so angry because I scheduled this and rented a car. Now we have a broken vehicle and lost rental car fees. I will never recommend or use Mark again.
