This is a review for the restaurant. This was the first place we stopped for dinner after arriving to Glacier for the first time. The food was delicious! I had the bison meat loaf and mashed potatoes. It was so good. I finished off my meal with a warm slice of huckleberry pie and ice cream We tried lots of other places after this but found this one to be our favorite so we ate our last meal here as well. They also have a nice gift shop area.Food & drinks: The food was delicious! Better than everything else we tried in the area. I would love to have another slice of that huckleberry pie!

This review is based on the restaurant. First off, the servers eyed us but completely ignored us after we got sat down. As a server myself, this was actually ridiculous to witness this sort of treatment- we completely showed respect and had to ask for someone to attend to us. The service further on was good though! Prices of food are just okay, the Glacier Chocolate pie slice didn t meet the $10 price point, but it is a tourist area! The food is okay! I really enjoyed the fish sandwich that I got. Fries were not the best. If you need somewhere to stop by and you are starving, this place isn t a bad stop. MUCH better restaurants in Whitefish though! Giving 3 stars is on the generous side but I can t say it was terrible.

If you are looking for a great place to start your Glacier National Park Adventure, look no further!! Excellent location!! The park entrance is 5 min drive from here, and 10 min if you bike. The restaurant has a great choice of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The servers are polite and insightful and the chefs put a lot of effort to prepare great food. Rooms are clean and tidy and the staff will make you feel like home. :)

Only 4 stars due to restaurant. Room was fine. No ac in our room but it wasn't hot during our 2 night stay last weekend. Great location right at the entrance to the park. Restaurant was decent but overpriced undercooked chicken with prosciutto Was not very good for $24 for 2 peices of chicken and some vegetables. Should have had a pizza instead. The huckleberry pie was fantastic. Guy at the desk was really nice. Helped us with our TV since I hit the wrong button and screwed it up. Will ask for ac next time as I like a cold room at night. Will stay again but have the pizza next time! Thanks see you next August.Rooms: Room was good. Like the rustic look.Nearby activities: Great acces to glacier parkSafety: Crushed rock in the lot would be better. I can see a twisted ankle due to the big rocks in the lot.Walkability: Needs better gravel in parking lot. Kinda difficult to walk on big rocks.Wi-fi: Wifi was good.Food & drinks: Get the pizza!

Terrible. No one in the resturant and I see why. Zero huckleberry pie. Choose two other pieces and you can tell the pies are frozen. Crust is terrible and is like cardboard. $10 per slice and they tasted like the refrigerator. Absolutely disgusting and would not recommend. Avoid!

We always feel so rested and well fed after our stays here! We stayed in a room with a lovely patio that felt like our own private slice of nature - it was so peaceful to watch the trees sway in the breeze outside our window and have coffee out there in the morning. We were even able to wake up in the morning, walk across the street into the park, and watch the sun rise over the river. The food was EXCELLENT and the beer was great too.

If you are coming and going on the train without a car, this is 100% the place to stay. Right across from the train station and just down from the entrance road to Glacier NP. An easy 3 mile walk to Apgar Nature and Visitor Centers where you can ride the bus around Glacier NP for free.Price and quality were poor. $165/night for motel room. Hotel not full by a long shot but they held fast to their 3pm check-in even though an early check-in for a mom with two kids coming from the overnight train would have meant so much. To add insult to injury, they wanted to charge us for holding our bags until we could check in at 3:00. WOW! True motel experience. Walked up the hill with our heavy luggage to gravel driveway that needs more gravel. Room has new carpet and is tasteful but not cleaned well before we checked in and zero housekeeping while here. Crud on floor. Old fashioned style bedspreads. Yuck! No doors except to toilet/shower. No towel bars or hooks in bathroom - one was broken on bathroom floor. Rustic/cheap type furniture.Thin sheets and hard pillows. Mattress isn't bad. Dorm type fridge in room.

This hotel is minimal, but it was in a great location. it was a crossed the street from the entrance. The guy that checked me in was laid back. They gave me a real key which worried me as I lose stuff. The room needs to be updated. Water stains do not clean away after many years. The shower is mini sized, no fridge or AC. I was thankful for the box fan. The bed wasn't super amazing, but it didn't sag. Most of the above, not really a problem as I camp. But if you are looking for lots of amenities this place isn't for you. The only big downside was the train. I can sleep through most anything, but the train was a challenge.

We stayed here mid August. The location was great for quick access into the park. Not the most personable people at check in but its a pretty basic place. The room was clean and all you need for spending time in the park. We would probably stay here again but if you do stay here don't set your expectations too high. The restaurant is also nice and convenient but wish it opened a little earlier in the mornings. Prices are also somewhat high on some of their food.

Lawrence and Gloria are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We had all of our camping gear and clothing stolen and they helped us get a place to rest our heads and even gave us some clothing! Would recommend this spot to anyone exploring the park or passing through. The restaurant is great and you won t find more genuine amazing people anywhere else. God bless you Lawrence and Gloria! We will pass on your hospitality and kindness!

We were lucky to have found this Glacier Highland Motel! Our trip was an AMTRAK from Shelby, MT to West Glacier. Because the train comes in so late, We needed something close by. This is right across the street! With a XANTERRA shuttle from AMTRAK to Lake McDonald Lodge, this worked out great! Gloria, Lawrence and Sophia said yes to everything! My wife has mobility issues and they were so helpful. The motel has been updated and was very comfortable. AND if you are a price shopper like me, their rates are far better than the competition! Add a full service restaurant, a gift shop, a gas station to the amenities, how can you go wrong!?

I recently stayed at this motel on my last trip to Glacier. I slept in the main building which has air conditioning. There are other units further up on the hill that are more quiet (the motel is in front of a busy railroad) but do not have air conditioning. I wasn't in the room much but it was cleaned every day and always spotless. There was a small fridge in the room and the bed was very comfy after a long hike. I also had dinner at the restaurant and the food was all good. They have a very good huckleberry pie. I would definitely stay at this motel again the next time I'm in the area.

We arrived to Glacier NP a night earlier than expected. We stumbled upon this hotel and stopped in the office. The clerk was very friendly and interesting. He travels around to lots of great places and it was fun to compare notes. This is a motel but our room felt like a cabin. It had a lot of great touches (wooden makeshift bed frame, wood moldings, cabin themed curtains) We were able to park right in front of our door which is always our preference. The train (across the road) sounds its horn all night (ugh!) but it did not wake us from inside our room. The room and property were very clean and housekeeping was very nice. The heater worked very quickly. The bathroom had a nice window for ventilation. No mold! The motel is directly across the road from the Glacier NP visitor center and only a couple of minutes from the entrance. Highly recommend and shout out to the clerk. Safe travels!

Loved it here!!!!! My boyfriend and I went on our first day at Glacier National Park and it was wonderful. He ordered the chicken pot pie and I ordered the skewers. We enjoyed it so much, we went back the very next day. I ordered the same thing again and he debated on getting the chicken pot pie again, but got the huckleberry bbq burger. We sat outside both days and it was so nice out. We had a great view of the mountains too. The service was great and the food was excellent. I think the price of the food is well worth it for the experience, ambiance, and service. We were so happy that we had Dan serving us both nights!!!! He was great. Very helpful with any questions we had and very welcoming. He deserves a raise. If we were staying another night, I would ve made us go again I enjoyed it so much. It s attached to a cute little gift shop and we both bought stuff from there too. Also, the pie was delicious! We got a huckleberry pie the first night and a lemon pie the next day, it was great! I hope to come back again and eat here! I hope Dan s working there still, would love to tip him again. Very memorable experience. Thank you!

Stayed here over labor day weekend. The only thing I liked about it was that it was close to the West Glacier enterance. Wifi sucked. Breakfast was not included. And there was no microwave in the room. The heater/ac was a bulky thing connected to the window that took so much room the blinds couldn't even be closed all the way down. Plus the stairs going up to our room was not very sturdy. It was shaky and just felt scary for me, my son and husband to go up and down on. Definitely do not recommend.

Food was ok. Beer was amazing! Hence why it got 2 stars. Service was a joke. Except the bus boy. The 2 waiters on duty made him do the work. Anyway hard to watch as most customers around were ignored including a nice elderly couple that only asked for a drink with there meal. Seriously wasted our time here. This could be a gold mine with beer that good. Management needs to focus on changing attitudes and customer service to match that product. And then capitalize on it. At one point I almost stood up and called out the waiters. Wife told me not to. For management . Good service + Great beer + positive word of mouth = money.

This is a great little motel in a perfect location! I can t believe it s not sold out every night, we stayed for 3 nights while we exploring GNP and couldn t of asked for a better spot. Lawrence at the front desk was a pleasure to work with. The room was clean and very functional our only issue were the towels though very clean were a bit small. But a small price to pay compared to other hotels. Oh and price was very reasonable

A great hotel right at the entrance of Glacier National Park! We stayed here for 2 nights during our vacation across Montana and Wyoming and this was probably my favorite hotel of the trip, it's very peaceful tucked into the trees and you can pull up and park right at your room doorstep which makes it super easy to transfer luggage. Being able to enter the national park within literally 1-2 minutes is super convenient. The rooms were very clean , beds were comfortable, and showers were nice. The restaurant and market onsite also made this location very easy because you could just walk from the room to get food or groceries. The staff was all very friendly including the guy that checked us in and Cheri who helped me change my reservation after I had adjusted some dates before the trip. I'm considering coming back to Glacier NP and staying here longer

The bed are comfortable the shower it s good and the restaurant right outside are room is great with great food. My only complaint is the wifi w hitch is not good but understandable for its location. Also extremely close to glacier national park which is very convenient. I say you should go here if you want easy access to glacier national park.

Glacier Highland Restaurant:The waiter was slow but nice. My boyfriend s burger (aka the chuck wagon) was tasteless and served on toast, my burger s (aka the huckleberry hound) bun was soggy when I got it. I ordered kettle chips with my burger, thinking they were homemade potato chips and they were literally just bagged chips. The fries were very bland.I do have to say, the coconut cream pie was delicious!A better selection of drinks/beer would be nice as well. This place has potential.

This review is for the restaurant only. The food was amazing, the environment friendly and everyone is required to wear a mask unless eating so it felt clean and safe. The best part was the service. We ate here twice during our trip to Glacier and both times the waitresses were attentive, friendly and helpful. One morning I watched a waitress count customers as they walked in and she already had their waters ready before they sat down. Will return on our next visit!!

What a great place to stay! Had everything we needed. Every staff member we interacted with (from Lawrence at the front office, to the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant, to the cashiers at the store) was super friendly and helpful. Our room had a mini fridge and was very clean. There are chairs outside of each room for guests to sit on after a long day at the park. The view from the little deck area was also nice.We did not have air conditioning in our room, but we didn't really miss it. We closed all the windows and blinds for the day to keep the sun out and turned on the ceiling fan when we got back to the room. The area gets cool enough at night that it was actually nice to sleep with the windows open with a cool breeze. It is also right next to the road that takes you to the West Glacier entrance of GNP. We rented bikes from down the road and rode to and from the park each day, which was about 4 mi each way (very easy flat road). One word of caution, which has nothing to do with the motel: Grabbing an uber/lyft back to the airport was very difficult. There were no cars available for days when we tried to schedule a ride. We got lucky on the day we checked out that a lyft happened to be completing a ride to the motel. There is the Arrow shuttle service that you can use by scheduling on their website, but they are a bit pricey.Overall, wonderful experience.. If I ever come back to GNP, I will definitely stay here again. And yes, the huckleberry pie is as good as everyone says lol.

One star for the helpful waitstaff, zero for everything else. The fish tasted like it came out of the freezer, the rice and sauteed vegetables were unseasoned, and we paid 11 dollars for five tator tots. Those are fried potatoes. The only reason they should cost more than two dollars each is if they tasted incredible. Guess what? They absolutely did not. My highest compliment is that I have not yet gotten sick from eating the chunks of overcooked steak served to me. In sum: Do. Not. Eat. Here.

Amazing place!!! It's so comfy and cozy...it reminded us of the cabin. We actually seen the vacancy sign on our way through Wednesday night and pulled in. We got into our room and fell in love and called our motel we had already reserved a room and cancelled it!! The rooms are spacious and clean! If your looking for a Hilton, this is not it. There's no microwave, hair dryer, or coffee maker, but who needs all that stuff while staying right next to Glacier National Park? ! I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat!

Spotlessly clean and comfortable room. The restuarant is wonderful. Best chicken pot pie that I have ever had and the huckleberry pie is out of this world. Very friendly staff. Also I arrived by train and the resort is right across the street from the station. The entrance to Glacier Park. is a 5 minute walk away. One doesn't even need a car when staying here.
