Came in just at opening after hiking in the park. Was able to get immediate seating on the patio (as we had no reservation). Ordered steak which delivered just as requested and delicious. My wife had nioki with elk sausage and more than she could eat. Great service and ordered chocolate almond olive oil cake with ice cream for dessert. Perfect finish to a dining experience commensurate with the price. Highly recommended if you are in the area but reservations would be good- we lucked out on perfect weather to sit outside.

I loved The Belton Chalet. The perfect location, charming, comfortable rooms and an outstanding restaurant (the red curry with chicken skewers was yummy!). The rooms are small, but they are beautifully appointed. A large dresser easily stored my suitcase contents so there was never a feeling of too little space. Susan and Kayla at the front desk were extremely helpful with information and friendly conversation. So nice to have a hotel with exterior and interior charm rather than the usual sameness of the chain hotels.Walkability: Easy access to Glacier National Park, convenience store, coffee shops and more

We loved our time at The Belton Chalet. Let me start with some very important info .. This is a very Rustic Old Hotel. There is NO A/C, NO elevator, no TV, no mini frig or microwave and a SMALL parking lot. Aside from that, we enjoyed the customer service provided by the exceptional staff. Taylor was awesome! The hotel and room was clean. We were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival. They packed us a hiker s lunch (for $19.99) upon request for our long hike. It contained a yummy sandwich, cliff bar, chips, apple and water. They served coffee, muffins and yummy fruit bars every morning. The Hotel is just outside of the Glacier NP West entrance so daily access is super easy (within walking distance to West Glacier Village). The food at the Belton Chalet restaurant was amazing. Our waitress (Jocelyn?) was funny, interesting and friendly. The history and architecture of the hotel is very cool and he grounds are beautifully landscaped. The Belton Chalet helped make our visit to GNP unforgettable!Nearby activities: Glacier National ParkWalkability: Within walking distance to West Glacier Village

The lodge has character and history and staying there is like back in time to 70 years (or so). Did not not eat there, but the restaurant was popular and menu looked good. Our room was TINY. Hard to even open a suitcase. Sweltering with no AC. Nearly no electrical outlets. Parking lot is also small. Be prepared to hike down/up to the gravel parking along the street.

Didn t stay at the chalet but we did dine in for dinner and it was the best restaurant we ve ever been too. After being in glacier for a week you don t think anything could be as amazing as the sights but this food was right in line with the beauty. We ve tried almost every other restaurant near by and this blows them all out of the water. That being said the food was amazing but the service is what made it one of a kind. I believe our servers name was Tom (an older gentleman, seemed to have worked in a lot of national parks) truly was the best server we ve ever experienced!

This is a very nice restaurant that was probably built back at the turn of the 20th century . It is about the only game in town if you are staying in West Glacier. Our waiter was excellent, the food was good, and the ambience was great. My only suggestion would be to include some Diversity to the menu. The wine prices were way too high., other than that it is a great place.

We didn t stay in the rooms, but had a late dinner at the restaurant one evening with zero complaint from the server and staff. She even offered dessert pleasantly (while surely hoping we would say no and gtfo haha). The atmosphere is lovely, the food was divine. Ribeye was cooked just right, the potato pure was perfect. Gnocchi with elk sausage was soooo flavorful, I didn t even mind picking the walnuts out

The food was delicious! The quality and flavor on point. Highly recommend the filet as it was cooked perfectly...the olive tray and bread plate - a nice combination for starters. Our server was warm and genuine, and paid close attention to our dining style, very professional and sweet.Food came out perfectly timed, we never felt like we were waiting, more like just enjoying a perfect evening. The music, historic setting, and timeless beauty all seemed so thoughtful.Very clean.A lovely evening.

We loved our stay and dining at the Belton! Great service, clean and comfortable room, great gift shop, helpful tips, and homey atmosphere. Really one-of-a-kind in the area to get such luxury accommodations so close to GNP. Thank you!!

A wonderful cottage to stay in especially with the kids. A train runs right in front of the cottage which was awesome for the kids to watch everyday. The cabins were nicely insulated so the noise from the train didn't bother us, and heating up the cabin was a breeze with the gas fireplace. We could run it for 15 minutes and the cabin would stay warm the remainder of the night. The location is basically a short walk from the entrance of the glacier national park and the views are spectacular.

This place was incredibly good. I ordered the bison meatloaf. Was amazing! Service was top notch even though we were the last table seated. Kids menu was great too.Food & drinks: We didn't stay in the hotel, just ate at the restaurant

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the historic Belton Chalet. The chalet itself is beautiful and the restorations done were top notch. The room was large, the bed was sufficient, the lobby staff was nice and provided some good tips. There's a ping pong table and other games in the basement which added to the fun. There are two reason that kept me from giving it 5 stars. One reason is that the railroad is literally across the street so they give you ear plugs which dampen the noise but don't eliminate it. The other reason is that we had a bad experience at the high end restaurant on the property. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and a beautiful setting, but the quality of the service was mediocre, the cocktails were sub-par and the food was down right terrible and the prices were very high. There are no TVs and there's no wifi, but most people that go to Glacier go to escape their "electronic leashes" so they can reconnect with nature and loved ones.

Expensive, boring food but decently well executed.Steak was the highlight crispy fries and cooked to a near-perfect medium rare. The other dishes were pretty disappointing.Tortellini could ve easily been prepared from a frozen supermarket package and the elk sausage + meatball were comparable to generic Olive Garden fare.Bison meatloaf didn t taste any different than beef.Pork shank was okay, as were the bangers and mash.Cocktails were kind of interesting but each was a bit heavy-handed in its own way.On the whole, pretty disappointing for the price. If you want a semi-pretentious ambiance with sit down service, you might prefer Belton, but if you just want good food then I d go to Sunflower BBQ down the road.

We only had drinks in the bar. Excellent bartender and staff we interacted with were very good, polite and attentive.Edit: went back for dinner. The tortellini with elk sausage and the ribeye special with lobster hush puppies was excellent. Try the lemon drop huckleberry dessert drink, delicious.

Such a beautifully restored historic hotel. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the chalet and the fact that they do not provide tv s in the room to encourage visitors to enjoy the great outdoors and the slower pace of the area. The restaurant is the best in the area with good menu selections. The staff at both were very professional and helpful. Thank you for the earplugs, we did not use them nor did we hear noises although we slept with the window open to enjoy the crisp mountain air

Visited in late June. Food was delicious and service excellent, but did anyone else notice that their receipt added up to $6 more than the food they actually ordered? The waitress said she couldn't do anything because that's what the cash register printed out (but management later replied that a system error made an extra meatball we'd ordered show up as $0 instead of $6 as a line item.)

We loved this place and would come back again and again. It is the perfect place for a trip to Glacier. It is located less than 5 minutes from the West Glacier entrance near Apgar. This hotel is everything you need and nothing more + an amazing view! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend getting reservations for dinner, the food is absolutely amazing. Curt was an awesome server, gave great recommendations (the meatloaf really is THAT good) and enhanced the overall experience. We can't wait until our next visit!

Stayed twice. First time on corner front upstairs with a balcony, and second time on back of building with no balcony. Back was quieter and less sunny (good on a hot day), but we missed the balcony.Housemade morning pastries were a delight with coffee. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Old timey railroad hotel vibe is priceless. Plenty of stairs, which could be problematic for some.Train station is right across the street - an easy walk. Train noise didn't bother us, but we like trains.Restaurant was superb. Make a reservation though. There's another casual place within walking distance.Room 37 is supposedly haunted. Ask for it if you dare.... .
