This RV park is now one of our favorites. This couple works hard to keep it clean and welcoming. We loved our stay. It was hard to leave. The setting is so serene and it was so quiet.Thank you so much for such a fabulous stay.

Wonderful place! Sparkling clean bathrooms and showers, beautiful location with lots of grassy space between sites, and the owners were really helpful and friendly! And the gift shop is GREAT! Really funny towels and tshirts, and excellent popcorn. Plus gorgeous quilted runners, placemats and wall hangings that the owner makes - many in western and wildlife motifs. It's right down the road from Virginia City, which is a restored gold rush town.THE place to stay if you're in the area.Nearby activities: Virginia City and Nevada City, restored gold rush towns.

Greg and Kim owners are some of the most welcoming people you'll ever meet. Beautiful and quiet location. Sites are level gravel with most being full hookups. Shower and bathrooms are very clean. There's use of a laundry and dryer on site. It's a great place for kids to run free and explore the area. We had AT&T cell coverage. We didn't have basic tv coverage or AM or FM signal. But that's OK. Virginia City is a short walk or drive into town. We'd definitely would stay here again.Nearby activities: Virginia City Mt has a lot of history to be discover for the family.Safety: 5mph in the Campground.Walkability: You can walk into Virginia City Mt. It's along the highway but safe and not to far.

William Mazan and I stayed in this park for 2 nights. Staff (owners) were very pleasant and accommodating. They were super informative and willing to share their knowledge of the area as they knew the area well. The Rambling Moose is extremely well kept and the showers/bathrooms are super clean. The view from the RV sites is beautiful and the park is very quiet. The gift shop/office was very clean and a pleasure to visit. The owner makes and sells beautiful quilts and shared her knowledge with us. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the moose, but we very highly recommend this park.

We stayed at the Rambling Moose Campground to visit both Virginia City and Yellowstone. The campground is very nice. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in making sure their campground is well maintained and that the campers have a wonderful time. We loved our stay.Nearby activities: Visited Virginia City which is 5 min away and Yellowstone Campground about 1.5 hours away. Worth the drive to stay in a nice campground.

It's an RV campground with a few cabins that I cannot rate because I used the RV space for the night. It was one of the nicest RV parks I have been to. Absolutely clean and neat. The owners/hosts are very nice people. 5 stars, I would enjoy coming back again!Noteworthy details: Super nice bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities.

This is a hidden gem! The location is beautiful and the owners were informational about the historic town of Virginia City as well as the ghost town at the top of the gulch. There is Nevada City with Star restaurant and more history.

Requiring a $40 non-refundable deposit for a cancellation 15 days prior to arrival is an antiquated approach in the hospitality industry. Hotels routinely allow no charge cancellations 24 hours ahead and in many cases, before 6PM the day of arrival. The campground is entitled to create their own policies and I'm entitled to give direct feedback regarding those policies. Horrible policy.Your response completely misses my point. I was aware of the policy; I fundamentally disagree with it particularly since you have over 2 weeks to rebook the site. Plans change for unforeseeable reasons--mine did.

This was the sweetest little camp ground! Very clean, friendly people, and a great gift shop. They had clean showers and lots of trash cans! We will be staying here again in the future.Nearby activities: JUST outside Virginia City which has a variety of food and historical activities.Safety: Very safe and secure.

Aint seen no moose! But we did see an awsome 4th of July display last night. Our #2 spot had our side MH windows perfect so had "front row" seats. This is the best stop on our 2 month vacation up from Texas. We first came here 30 years ago but this place has changed for the better. Beautiful views from parking spot for 40' w/tow. Plenty of dog friendly space. Lots of places to do the tourist thing or get into the wilderness like we do. I-net streaming when it is not outside weather. Walking and hiker friendly and I hear bears "like" hikers.....don't keep a steak in your pocket. Owners are great and have ice cream and bear spray in the office!Nearby activities: Lots of close by places to explore and enjoy. Groceries in Ennis only 15 min. away.

Great camping experience! The campsite is greatly maintained and the bathrooms are very clean. One of the best camping experiences we made in the US. You're not sitting on your neighbour's table while camping as the spots are large. The owner was very helpful! We ran out of dish soap and he instantly helped us out. Also a lot of room to play for the kids. And the sunsets are a must see! I can highly recommend.

Our tent site was private and Kim was very nice and informative of the area. Rest rooms and showers were pretty spotless, one of the better stops on our cross country trip. Montana and Rambling Moose do not disappoint.

What a cute little campground!! Whether you're in an RV, staying in one of their two cabins or like me tent camping the Rambling Moose is a winner. Being just a half mile or so from Virginia City itself doesn't hurt either. It's nice to find little family owned campgrounds like this these days. Thanks Kim for a great stay.

Very clean, well kept grounds and great location. Greg and his wife were SUPER helpful and great hosts for the campsite as well as suggesting ideas for us to explore the nearby ghost town of Virginia city, it is not to be missed. There were some really cool shops. If you arrive on Sunday, make sure to hit the town early, most everything shuts down around 6:00.I can t thank them enough for being such great hosts, especially for us newbies with a camper trailer. If you re in the area, definitely check out the Rambling Moose for your camping needs, you won t regret it!

Beautiful spot nestled in the hills above Virgina City. The camp ground was extremely well kept and clean. The front office staff was so helpful and kind! The two nights we stayed there, the sunsets were unbeatable. Seriously breathtaking. We would definitely stay again!

This place is wonderful. Clean restrooms and showers, laundry facilities and gift shop. Very reasonable prices. Ashley (owner) went above and beyond to help us out by finding a lovely college girl to be our Virginia City "Uber" driver. My 82 year old mom and her best friend certainly appreciated Ashley's efforts on our behalf, HIGHLY recommend!

The best campground we've stayed at on our trip across 6 states. We were only going to stay one night, but decided to stay another night. Located just on the outskirts of historic Virginia City, Montana, the campground is quiet, and well maintained. The laundry room, restrooms and showers are the cleanest and best we've seen. Definitely recommend staying here.

Great place, very well organized, very clean, well worth the stay. Kim (owner/manager) was very enthusiastic and helpful, had some windy conditions coming in, she put us in an area that was quite sheltered...thank for that. The park is not right in town, but certainly only a 2 min drive or a 10 minute walk. This is one of the best campgrounds Ive tayed at in Montana, no doubt about it.

Stayed in one of the newly renovated cabins. My family slept comfortably in the cabin, and would recommend this campground to tent and rv campers alike. It was a great campground. Very scenic and right on the way for our road trip. Very very short drive to Virginia City, which is a very interesting place to visit.
