This is by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Mazda Dealership (I've lived in Texas and Oklahoma and NEVER had as abysmal of service as I have in Missoula at Young Mazda). I called for my 30k maintenance and was quoted originally almost $870 for the services, and was later told since my car was not AWD therefore no rear differential the price dropped down to $769 plus a 10% coupon off the oil change so it was $760 total for everything which was fine. I brought my car in this morning for my 8am appt where I dealt with Emily. She was friendly at first and told me all in I'd be paying over $1100 for my 30k service... I explained to her that I was quoted $760 and she asked me if my car had AWD which it doesn't. The super nice young blonde gal at the side desk had assisted me and even chimed in saying she remembers me getting the $760 price quote and it was notated in my account by Diego but he didn't specify which services I was getting. They started talking about not doing certain services which I was initially never told were needed which is frustrating. Emily argued with the other gal about pricing and how she can't change things in the system even though it is noted in my account what I was quoted. She finally came up with a price over $800 and I told her I can't do that, I budgeted $760 for this appt - Emily had the audacity to tell me "it's only $100 more" which was uncalled for and condescending. I told her again I budgeted for what I was quoted - and she was not going to honor what I was told by the staff multiple times when I was setting up the appointment. The blonde gal told Emily to call Diego since it was his notation about my quote to talk with him - and Emily refused to do it. I ended up canceling my appt and I will NEVER return to Young Mazda. They clearly try to nickel and dime you and won't honor prices that you are told by staff even if documented. I checked my owners manual after I left and some of the services they said they weren't going to do (something about cleaning service)? is NOT even listed in the manual as a service needed. Overall I am hugely disappointed with the professionalism of Emily and Young Mazda.**I called the Mazda Dealership in Spokane to inquire about the price for my 30k maintenance - it is $585. AVOID YOUNG MAZDA. Save your hard earned money!**Young Mazda texted me saying it was about my service appt this morning - so I called back and spoke w/ Gabe. It was not about my terrible experience this morning but instead they wanted to buy my car from me.. I told him they have officially lost a customer after TERRIBLE unprofessional behavior this morning and all that Gabe could say was "sorry you feel that way" and disconnected. yikes, this place does not communicate between departments.

Update: On further inspection the Mazda service center didn't even take the caliper off or apart to check for faulty work before telling me their tech did a correct job and that the parts fail. The bolts heads were stil covered in dirt and no marks from a socket or impact gun. When taking the caliper off to check myself, the slide pins on the driver's side caliper were dry, the slide pins on the passenger front and both rear calipers had the original grease from the factory that was not replaced during the brake service at 43k miles. The pads on the front drivers side had cracks from being overheated that they were going to just "sand down" and reuse which could have been catastrophic if they were to come apart while driving. I should be reimbursed for my original brake service since this obviously was a poor service job by the dealership which cost me time and money to do the service correctly. So I had my brakes serviced less than 7k miles ago, first off i dropped the car off at my 8am appointment and got a call at 2pm that they ordered the wrong parts for it and they just received the correct rotors and pads and if I still needed my car by the end of the day. Then had to wait till just as they closed for them to finish the "Rush" job.So I noticed the left front rotor was starting to glaze over all of a sudden a few days ago and started to feel a vibration in the pedal and steering wheel. I was a mechanic so I knew the rotor had gotten hot and warped and knew the cause, the slide pins weren't properly lubricated causing the brake failure.I made an appointment and the Service Advisor Diego Murguia listened to me and agreed that the problem was exactly what I explained and agreed it should still be covered under warranty. I even explained that the caliper failed because of the poorly serviced caliper and was why it caused the brake rotor to overheat and warp, he also agreed that it was not just a part failure and should be covered under warranty because of this. That's when the real problem began. The Service Manager refused to cover any of it under warranty due to the caliper failing. It wasn't their fault that "parts fail" (the car has only 50k miles on it...) I explained that the failure was due to the tech not servicing the car correctly (I've had to redo calipers by other techs many times for the same short cut of not lubing/replacing slide pins/bolts) and the brake rotor and pads wouldn't need repairs if the caliper was serviced correctly and the typical life of a caliper is 100k miles. The service manager Randy Harris flat out told me he didn't care if I was a mechanic (15 years as one and had my own shop, got hit by a drunk driver so it's hard for me to do anymore) He also said he had never replaced slide pins before in any calipers and the tech sufficiently lubed them... and that they would sand down my brake pads flat again when they replaced the rotor and both calipers at my expense. That's a hack job if I've ever heard one. Not only that he was very rude and wouldn't even listen to me. They were going to charge me another 1400 after the 1300+ dollars I payed for them to do it right in the first place. Also my original quote for the brakes the first time was 576 dollars, when I went to pick it up it was 1300+...If you value your car (and your money) and want it to be serviced correctly Do Not take it to Young Mazda in Missoula!Young Mazda has ruined the reputation of what was once Flanagan Mazda. The service at this place is a joke and as a mechanic a joke of a shop as well!

I am pretty sure this is the business that helped me. I never been in there as a customer, but I left a super fan of the guys in the garage facing the alley sure saved my bacon! I cannot express what wonderful upstanding dudes work there! My dog slipped his collar and bolted around the parking lot - hes a 7mo old puppy so not too well trained. These awesome men saw what happened and helped me catch him!!! I was so beside myself i didnt get to tell them how much i appreciated their help!

Forget the things we always heard to keep us away from dealership repair shops. Being part of a dealership, they know Mazdas and want to keep you as a return customer. I don't see them overcharging and I know I'm in good hands with their experienced, long time service employees.
