I am NOT happy with how my car and I were treated by Unique's personnel! First, I was growled at over the phone when I called to inquire about my car. Then my check was refused even though I am a repeat customer and they have never had the least trouble getting paid by me. Then I was overcharged and Amos argued with me when I spoke up to correct his error, though he finally corrected it without any acknowledgment of it being an error. Then I noticed greasy handprints all over the exterior of my car, even on the rear doors, and the back seat was rifled through. They would have had no reason to even enter the backseat area. And now my vehicle rattles, clunks and squeaks in places and ways it never did before. I cannot trust this business.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Air conditioning

My husband and I have had to work with them quite a few times and have never been disappointed. They were always friendly and very straightforward. And always very fairly priced. They always seem to be able to get us in right away and they usually don't have our car for to long. Definitely would recommend if your having car trouble and aren't sure where to go.

I really recommend this mechanic shop because the workers are on top of their game. The two guys at the desk are very professional and are a blast to talk to. I just love that they won't tippy toe around issues. They tell you straight up what needs to be done with your car, or if nothing is wrong at all. The honesty is amazing! They are also very reasonably priced for the great service they provide. They have always worked with me and my wife when it came to getting our car(s) fixed or worked on. I will for sure keep going back. Keep up the good work Unique, and hope your mechanic shop keeps continuing to prosper!

I have been a customer and taking all my families cars there for almost 20 years. I guess the business has new owners and has gone to hell. They did a fuel pump and didn t install it right. Check engine light has never came off since. We take it in for the engine light- they charge us $100 diagnostic ( plus repair) Couple days later light comes back on. They charge us again the $100. This last Monday went in again for engine light due to fuel issue- $100 diagnostic plus repair again- 3 days later light comes back on (says fuel cap like every time before). They can t seem to fix it and charge you over and over and over! They aren t good anymore -they are a rip-offServices: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Oil change

Very pleased. Work on my vehicle was reasonably priced and done in a timely manner which was important to me and my wife considering this is our family car. Feel that I was treated fairly and that work needed as well as associated costs were communicated to me before work was done. I took my truck to Unique because the check engine light came on. They were able to discern that the engine was running lean, and that the fuel pump would need to be replaced. I felt bad for having just filled up the fuel tank, given that it is an internal pump. Alvin was able to find a part in Missoula and have it replaced expeditiously! I'm so happy that I was able limp it in and not be stuck on the side of the road. Great service!

I went to Unique Auto for an alignment through a dealer that I had just bought a truck from. Waited an hour just to be told that my truck needed 4 new ball joints, 2 new arms, 2 tie rods, and 6hrs in labor to the tune of $1,200. A ridiculous price for this service. Little did they know, I had the truck inspected previous to buying and none of those were an issue. Took the truck elsewhere and nothing was wrong. I don't recommend unique if your a woman. I might be female, but I'm not stupid.

HONEST & Outstanding - Unique Auto was absolutely outstanding to work with. My truck engine blew up and they were able to breakdown the engine and let me know what went wrong. They also worked with my warranty company to process the claim, which was unfortunately declined do to work someone performed 80k miles ago. Alvin made some suggestions given the situation and helped me get to the best solution possible given a very bad situation. I would send anyone there.

Make sure you get a second opinion. I lost a good SUV because they tried to get me to spend $5400 on problems that weren't there. Turns out $200 and it was good as new. I would advise you go elsewhere.

Alvin and Amos have been nothing but professional to deal with. They have gone above and beyond for me a few times, much appreciated. They have worked on my 72 Cuda and newer 4Runner with great knowledge and care. Thanks for saving me money and doing the right thing (something not many places do for their customers anymore). I would highly recommend these guys!

I almost don t want to share how awesome Unique is cuz I don t want everyone to find this hidden gem. They are a staple of the Missoula community and in my 15 years of service I ve never been mislead or spent needless money. They re honest, genuine and think of you as a person not as a profit! Two sad car stories, one evil auto shop: I took a car there for a routine oil change in 2006 and when I drove away it blew blue smoke out the tailpipe.... really bad. The car was Fine when I drove it in and totaled when I left. They took NO responsibility.Now, nine years later, my mother offered to pay for a routine oil change on my 2002 Buick Regal if I took it to Unique so I thought I'd give them another chance. Maybe last time was a coincidence. My Buick has been wonderful and never given me any problem, ever. So I drove it away from the oil change and it has been making a whirring noise when I accelerate and when I turn corners ever since. I don't know what they did, but I Know they did it! I'm afraid to take it back to them with the thought that they have already done enough damage. I think I'll cancel my apt this morning and take it to someone who knows what they are doing to be fixed.This shop is at best, bad luck, and at worst, terribly terribly incompetent and unaccountable for their incompetence. Don't go there! Just don't.

Quality, honest, and timely shop. Had my clutch replaced by them for $600, brought my own parts and had them resurface the flywheel for $70. I have a lot of aftermarket parts on my 2004 Mustang and if you have headers you'll have to account for a few more hours to take those off so they can get to the starter and remove that to remove the bell housing. All in all good work and I was driving again within 24 hours! Friendly service over the phone and in store. I called all the shops in Missoula and I blindly had Unique Automotive Services work on my car without talking in person and I have never been happier with their customer service and the quality of work they provide. If you have any car problem or any work you need done I would never take my car anywhere else. If you love your car and want to make sure it's taken care of and in good hands these people are for you.

Honest quotes. They tell the truth and never recommend services you don't actually need. They also offer a used car inspection that diagnoses future issues whether you own the car or not. I've never had a bad experience even when getting bad news.

I own a small service business with a fleet of five vehicles. We have been using Unique for over two years. In that time I have come to rely on Alvin and his team to properly diagnose the problem, communicate the issue and price and they always seem to come in below the estimate.I take my personal vehicles to them for all maintenance and repairs because I won't trust anyone else to work on my cars. I recently lost the transmission in our Jeep Wrangler 350 miles out of town. I didn't trust anyone else to repair it so I towed it back to Missoula to have them fix it. I'm just too cautious to allow anyone else to work on my vehicles. Very professional team with a lot of experience and background. Having a mechanic shop that you can rely on and trust to work on late model vehicles is a must in this day and age.

I called for information on emissions testing. The person I spoke to answered all of my questions patiently, clearly, and comprehensively despite knowing he would not be compensated with my business for his efforts. This type of businessperson is much appreciated and I wish this company all the best!

My truck was leaking transmission fluid so I took it in to them. They said they fixed it. Got it back and less than a week later I looked underneath and it was still leaking transmission fluid, so I took it back. They said they had missed something, fixed it didn't charge me labor but charged me for the part. A couple weeks later I looked under there again and it's still leaking so I take it back and wouldn't you know it missed something else. Their fault again. I would not take anything to them for more than an oil change.

I took a car to them that I was wanting to purchase for an inspection. They then gave me an estimate for $1500 for "front end work". The car felt and drove perfect so I asked for an explanation of the repairs needed ( cause the dealership cried foul) and they told me "we really don't work on these cars" and "We don't to a lot of front end work"THEY COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT THEY BID!! SCAM.

Earned my trust big time. Alvin always explains to me exactly what happened to my car, and I always pay the amount they quote me so there is no bait and switch, and they make sure the repair is done right. They earned a customer for life with me.

Have been going here for 14 to years and they are great.Just got new leaf springs for 1995 Jeep Cherokee.And the price came in under 200 of the original quote.Thanks guys.

We had an engine put in and they didnt re- connect alot of wiring. We took it back due to problems and they didnt even see disconnected wiring still from when removing and replacing engine. Now we csnt come up with major more money for someone else to fix what they did wrong. Huge disappointmentService: Engine repairService: Engine repair

My fiance spent nearly 2k getting a couple electrical fixes done on her Pontiac. Checked oil level after they returned the car and the oil level wasn't even showing on the dipstick. You would think that checking fluids would be a pretty basic step for an auto shop. 1/5.

Unique Auto is my first choice for auto repair here in Missoula Montana. They have technicians knowledgeable for almost any make & model. I have known Alvin, the owner for many years and he is a real straight-shooter who won't rip you off.
