I went to Kent Brothers shop after the dealership gave me a super high estimate, and there was no way I could afford it. Not only did Kent Bros shop show me the problem with my car on an actual engine in their garage area, they also explained the process they would do to help my situation, AND it was significantly cheaper than the dealership estimate. I appreciate their kindness and promptness to get my car done in one day and their honesty. I highly recommend them to all Subaru drivers! If I have anymore issues, I will definitely return to their shop.

These guys really know what they are doing and you can tell they care about the cars and customers. I was given a very thorough explanation of what was wrong with my car and suggestions on what needed to be fixed and what could wait, as well as possible scenarios of what could happen if I didn't do the repairs. They had honest prices, very friendly staff and overall a great experience. It's great to know they are specialists and obviously passionate about what they are doing!

I have been using Kent Brothers Automotive for my subarus for years. I would not take my subarus anywhere else. This business is of the highest integrity. They are experts who are honest and fair. I feel like they go out of their way to help meet your needs and give you advice. They are worth waiting for to get the best advice and care of your cars! Kent Bros are the only people I'd let care for either of my Subaru. my oldest is a 1996 legacy that still gets 30mpg on highway. No better mechanics exist anywhere

Recently had my Subaru worked on here and had a great experience! They got me in quickly and did the repair quickly. I had oil and coolant leaks fixed and the work looks excellent! Looks like they cleaned the parts before reinstalling which is rare to see anymore. They also took the time to clean the corrosion off my battery at no cost to me, which I really appreciate!Even the total repair was less than quoted!This place is great! Will definitely be bringing my car back and will recommend to others.

These guys know their stuff Subaru of Missoula had our car for 3 weeks and did not fix it cuz they couldn't figure it out Eddie figured it out in one day and fixed it for almost the same amount of money as Subaru charged me for nothing these are my go-to guys

I've heard great things about Kent Brothers and have taken my car there twice. First, the pros. They explain things well, tell you when big things are not pressing, an I (mostly) trust what they say. It seems like the work they do is effective. However, both times I've gone in there, in addition to work that we agreed they would do and agreed on the price of, they have also done about $50-70 extra dollars of work that I did not ask for and did not want them to do, without asking me. These were little things like windshield wipers, lightbulbs, and oil changes that are incredibly easy for me to do and I don't want to have to pay someone to do them. It seems that, potentially, their business model is just to charge everyone for 10% more work that they didn't initially ask for, just to make more money, and I end up feeling ripped off. It also would have been extremely easy for them to call me and ask whether or not I wanted these things done. They are very convenient for me, so I may continue to go back anyway, but I don't feel good about taking my car there and will choose another option when I have it. On the other hand, these extras might be what some people actually want done without asking and see this service as a perk - so if that's the case, this is your shop.

I was so impressed with Kent Brothers' straightforward, fair service and speed. I called and described a weird rattle coming from my front passenger side only between a set range of RPMs, fearing the worst. Colin let me know there was a brief appointment at the end of that business day and then they'd be booked out. I showed up, he heard the sound himself, and then spent 15 minutes getting a pebble out of my brake. That's all it was. He charged me for that time, and sold me a cabin filter he knew my husband could install later. I was so grateful and relieved to have somewhere good to take a weird problem, and not be overcharged. I will definitely be a return customer, and I will recommend them to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenance

The team at Kent Brothers are the best Subaru shop in town and will treat you better than family. The best garage in town, in my opinion. As a woman, I often feel intimidated going to a mechanic and have experienced being taken advantage of. I have never felt that way at Kent Brothers, in fact, they employ female mechanics, and I trust them completely. Thank you!

I've taken more than one Subaru to Kent Brothers over the decades and they are ALWAYS friendly, professional, skilled, honest, affordable and easy to work with. I really appreciate that they tell me which repairs they recommend and which ones I might delay or opt out of in order to save some money. They are the best!

From beginning to end, working with Kent Bros was a fantastic experience. Lindsey was the mechanic who worked with my vehicle and she did a great job. I knew something was up with the brakes and took the car to Les Schwabb to get an estimate, and they lied about the amount of work my car needed and were going to charge my more than double what I paid at Kent Bros. I took my beloved 02 Subaru Outback to Kent Brothers with what i thought was a "rough idle" after trying to fix it myself and paying another mechanic elsewhere who failed to even diagnose the problem. Kent Brothers took time and used their extensive experience with these vehicles to diagnose the issue as slop in off brand aftermarket front axles i had recently installed (somewhere else). The individual i spoke with took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me (yes, i ask a lot of questions). They charged me nothing, even after i said i thought it was more than reasonable to charge me something for their time, use of equipment and expertise. I also appreciated they didn't try and over sell me stuff i didn't really need on a vehicle of this age. Thank you, i will definitely be a repeat customer.

I had heard great things about Kent Bros, and thought I'd take in my much-loved '02 Outback with concerns about a lack of power as well as a suspected worn wheel bearing. This was my first experience at this shop and I'll definitely be back next time I need maintenance!They took the time to drive the vehicle and take a close look, and Eddie gave an honest assessment over the phone that everything was normal/expected given the age and mileage on the car, but recommended a wheel bearing replacement. I had also mentioned that I was taking the car out on a trip to WA at the end of the month and the technicians at Kent Bros. did a full trip check as well as a requested oil/filter change. The total bill came out under what was quoted on the phone and now I feel much more confident about taking my beloved Subie on future adventures. Great friendly local service with techs that clearly know and love their Subarus. Thanks, Kent Brothers!

Always spot on! Exceptional at what they do for an excellent price, from minor issues to major repairs. Wish I could take all our cars there, but they are not Subarus. I purchased a 1997 Subaru Legacy from Kent Brothers Automotive nearly four years ago. The vehicle has been abandoned after Eddie Joy had completed extensive repairs on a seized engine. I was not thrilled with the look of the car but Eddie ensured me the car was mechanically sound and would be a great car for anyone. Eddie was a pleasure to work with and I ended up LOVING the car. Over the years I had minor repairs completed at the shop and though my visits were few, each one was a pleasure. Yes, a pleasure. Lindsey, one of the technicians I was fortunate enough to work, with provided outstanding customer service and her genuine concern was always touching. NEVER have I enjoyed a relationship with an automotive shop like I enjoyed with Kent Brothers. They are honest, dependable, and excellent technicians. My heart is saddened to leave the Subaru family only because I will miss the AMAZING crew at Kent Brothers Automotive.

I do not have enough good things to say about this shop. I brought my old beater outback there for simply a diagnosis, and they found the issue and corrected it for an extremely fair price well under the quote I was given. Additionally, time was spent to discuss what the actual issue was and how they fixed it. They also let me know some other issues with the car and explained to me how long I could go before fixing the issue. I would 100% go back if I need any more work and will recommend them to anyone I know that has a Subaru.

If you own a Subaru, do yourself a favor and forget the big shops. The mechanics are top-notch and know Subaru's intimately well. They will usually quote repairs prior to servicing and always beat the big shop's prices. I have never been disappointed and wouldn't take my Subie anywhere else.

I've owned seven Subarus over the years and been to quite a few different Subaru specialists. Kent Brothers is hands down my favorite place that I've had repair work done. Prices are very fair and work is always done quickly. They'll have my business for as long as I live in Missoula. Thanks!

Kent Brothers have been my trusted Subaru Mechanics for seven years. So, when the tire shop said my brakes needed $1,700 in repairs, I brought the car to Kent for a second opinion. Somehow, despite having more than twice the expertise of the tire shop crew, Kent Brothers did the work for less than half the price. I do a lot of my own vehicle maintenance. I've heard a lot of great things about Kent Brothers when it comes to Subarus. I have an '84 Subaru 4wd that needed rear drum brake shoes. I've discovered that installing drum brake springs tests my will to live. So, I was more than happy to pay for the maintenance on them. They went above and beyond for my brakes, and an untimely tire puncture. (They don't do tire repairs in house, fyi). I highly recommend them for any vehicle maintenance, and thank them for being Bros.

I had a scheduled dropoff appointment at 0700, but had to miss it due to an unanticipated demand at work. I was able to drop off my '07 outback in the afternoon, expecting to get it back with just a diagnosis on such short notice. The folks at Kent Brothers had the car diagnosed and repaired before closing at 1730! They even allowed my wife to pay over the phone while she was on her way to pick up the car. Lindsey (sp?) was very friendly and understanding over the phone. In short, these are great people who do great work for an even better price. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to Kent Brothers.

Eddie and the staff at Kent Brothers have always treated me with respect and kindness. I believe they're the best mechanics in Missoula. I've trusted them with my car multiple times now and I always leave feeling like they definitely over delivered. If you have a Subaru, take it to Kent Bros.

This is the place to go for Subaru repairs. They're up-front about costs, they treat you really well, all around awesome. Lindsay (I think that's her name) showed me exactly what the problem was and showed me how they fix it. I never get that kind of attention when I go into other stores. It was much appreciated.

Really great mechanics here. I can't imagine there's anything about your Subaru they haven't seen. We went for a pretty major engine replacement. Going strong a year later. Now we're going here for regular maintenance. Competitive prices without trying to upsell you on unnecessary stuff.

I've brought in my car several times to Kent Brothers with some bizarre problems with the expectation of having to spend several hundred dollars for replacing new parts. Each time they found a simple fix and only had to pay a cheap labor charge, even though they often spent hours checking it. Fantastic, honest mechanics.

From brake lights to leaky headgaskets, this shop is by far the best place to take your Subaru. Always honest, incredibly affordable, and above all, friendly, their shop makes we want to keep buying Subarus just because I know who to take it to when it breaks. It usually takes about a week to get in because they're the best shop around, and Missoula knows it.
