The way they do business here is you come in and tell them what you are looking for and they find it. They scour the country and bring your vehicle to you. But there is a serious downside to this way of buying, you have to take all parties involved word that they are selling a good car. By the time you can lay your own eyes on the car, you already own it.For a hefty sum of money John sold my father a truck with a completely rusted out frame. It was so bad I felt it unsafe for my father to drive. I brought this to John s attention and he agreed it was no good. 6 months later he finally made good on his promise to make it right and replaced the entire frame at a great cost to him.This whole fiasco could have been avoided if we could have seen the truck before we bought it. This is not possible at TDA

The team at dealership alternative went above and beyond to help me out with the purchase of a new car. When the original car I purchased through them had some issues that the mechanics were not able to pin down, John found me a new car that has been extremely reliable! Couldn t be more pleased with the service I experienced.

Here are Facts. When through John to purchase a truck for my son. John found what my son was looking for. He sent low resolution pictures to us through e-mail. Truck turned out to be a work truck with paint in the bed undisclosed dent. Check engine light was on but he said it was nothing and would have "his" mechanic fix it. 3 trips before it could be resolved. On trip I asked the mechanic what is that ticking noise. Response: "Oh it's nothing a lot of the Chevy's have that". Truck lasted my son just under 2 years. Valves were actually going out. Just sold the truck and took a $9,000 loss. I called John's office when we discovered the issue. He didn't return my call. These are all facts. Make your own decision if you want to deal with business.

I reached out to The Dealership Alternative and John after I heard from two people I have come across in Helena. Both of them had very good experiences with buying a car through The Dealership Alternative. John helped me buy a used car within the budget. The whole process was very easy and he makes sure that he gets you the best available car possible. You always have an option to say a no to the car he brings for you and the search begins again until you are satisfied. I haven't got much time to explore the Toyota Pruis he got for me. However, it looks great so far. And, he always reachable to answer your questions and clear your doubts. He even suggested that in case if I want to sell a car in the next couple of years, (given the fact that I took a good care of it), he would help me sell it through The Dealership Alternative. I would recommend them highly.

I was a first-time car buyer and super overwhelmed by the entire process until I started working with Jen. I told her my specifications and within a day she already had found several good options. Everyone at the Dealership Alternative is very personable, helpful, professional and efficient and it was a huge relief to know that they had already inspected it and done research on the car before selling it to me. I could not have had a better car buying experience!

TDA had received a Jeep Compass through a trade-in and I ended up purchasing that Compass from TDA. I have driven the car for eight months and have been very happy with it. Angie was great to work with!

I could not be more pleased with my experience at the dealership alternative. We got the used vehicle we wanted for the price range we wanted. We gave them a list of things we wanted in a vehicle and they searched online inventories of dealerships across state lines, did thorough VIN checks, discarded anything that could have an issue, and didn't stop until they found our perfect vehicle. If they do find any issues with your vehicle at all, like my vehicle has a few minor scratches on the bumper, they let you know as soon as they find out by sending pictures. They also send someone to do a thorough inspection on your vehicle and if everything checks out, they bring it directly to Helena. I'd recommend calling them if you are in the market!

These guys are great! They helped me find exactly the car I wanted in no time flat, and then negotiated with the dealership when the car arrived with chipped paint. So easy! And very cost effective too. I'll be back!

I've now purchased 2 vehicles thru The Dealership Alternative. You tell them what you are looking for, price you want to pay, color, interior, etc. and they find it for you. Easy Peasy. No one following you around at a car lot. No time wasted. Service with a smile even. I would highly recommend them for your next car purchase!!
