Excellent store, locally owned. All lumber and construction needs plus everything for the homeowner. As good as Lowe's but locally owned.

The people there go out of the way to help you with anything. I so recommend this store for all your needs. Except groceries that is.

I just have to say buying local (Power Townsend) is a good idea for all the right reasons. Recently, I purchased a 5 gallon container of Benjamin Moore interior paint for a residential project, that unbeknownst to me and the person that mixed the paint was damaged when it was shipped to the store. Without any hesitation the store manager, Dan, and paint dept. manager Jeff, bent over backwards to make it right by replacing the paint. Not only did we get our project back on track, the results of the paint were remarkable. We used Ultra-spec 500 Eggshell on the walls, Regal Wall Satin paint for an accent wall, and the best trim paint on the planet known as Advance-Satin. I am so thankful for the folks at Power Townsend!

I have shopped at Power townsend for many years and have always found the most knowledgeable and respectful people to help me. They provide personal service and their staff always ALWAYS listens to what I need and pays attention to the fact that I don't want just the tool that everyone buys, but I might need a tool that works for ME! My husband had several heavy drills that I just could not hold and operate with one hand. The average box stores had no sales person that even listened to my needs, and most had no idea of any specific features of the tools. At Power Townsend, I shared my frustration with the heavy drills and the sales person listened and showed me several different brands, pointing out what could be easy to operate vs those that would be more difficult. He even had me hold each one to see how it fit in my hand. Ultimately, we found the perfect drill for ME and I love it! Easy to use, perfect weight and balance. I prefer to have the people who care vs those who are out to just sell me anything!

Power Townsend has pretty much anything you'll need for just about any home project, plus a lot more. In Helena it's a go-to place for hardware needs.

Great service and the FRIENDLIEST CASHIERS in town. The sales personnel are very helpful. Our family from out of state was thrilled when they heard the history of the store. They will start looking for family owned stores in their state. Maybe they will learn some history also. Still great service.

Prices are outrageously high customer service is the worst in town. Called and tried to reserve a installation blowertook down all my information said it would be no problem that my wife could pick it up after work she showed up they would not rent it to her after taking all of my information will never do business with them ever again. The lady at the counter was extremely rude it would not even try to work with us. Save your money Lowe's is right across the street way better.

After about 15 years of doing carpentry, I decided it was time to invest in a Stiletto hammer. I called ahead to check availability, sure enough they had a few to choose from! Great customer experience, I was happy to spend money on quality tools, locally. Thank you!!!

Shawn in the lumber area was very helpful today. All staff were polite and courteous. Four employees asked if I needed any assistance. I do prefer shopping at this locally owned hardware store.

My mother bought a dog door from you guys and realized it was wrong size and tried to return it but was met with resistance from manager Scott. She was accused of trying to return a used dog door and was told there was dog hair on it which is possible when you own a shed less dog. My parents had a business account here for years but after this experience we will never shop here again. Scott was so rude that the cashier's that witnessed this had to apologize for the manager. Get over yourselves power Townsend.

I shop here frequently and they almost always have what I'm looking for and prices aren't too bad on most things compared to the box stores. It's also nice to be able to buy a single bolt and not a bag of them, or just a foot of hose and not a long section like the box stores. I am concerned about the employees however. On more than one occasion I have heard foul language including the F bomb as employees talk amongst themselves. This is not professional and is not what I want to hear when I'm shopping. Especially from employees. Also there is high turnover at the cash registers, which is probably due to the mentality that raising wages to attract better, more professional, committed employees is simply not possible, and should be avoided at all costs (no pun intended).

I went in the Helena Power Townsend store to ask about roofing shingles. I walked up to a person I assumed was a customer service representative who would be able to help me. I said "hey" in what I felt was a inquiring tone. He immediately got upset and asked me "did you just hey me"? I was taken aback and he proceeded to tell me how rude I was. We then proceeded to have a verbal argument and profanities were spoken. I asked to speak with his manager and he told me he WAS the manager. I then realized this was a losing situation. I told him he was not a very good manager and I wouldn't be back in that store and left.I'm going to tell everyone I know that if they can avoid it dont go to Power Townsend in Helena.I shop in Power Townsend frequently and have always had good experiences. This experience was uncalled for and I won't forget it.I'll take my business elsewhere.

Helpful staff. Good selection. Competitive pricing (44s were less than at Lowes). Plus a locally owned business! I like keeping more dollars local.

I recently bought a water heater (march 2019) we also had a 6 YEAR warranty. Shortly after it was installed we noticed the element was burnt up before it was even used right out of the box. We went back and they gave use a new element. Ok fine.. Now I finnaly had hot water, great! Not even 4 weeks later it stopped working . Tried to get a hold of the warranty people, they were no help and gave us the run around. Told me to email pictures but than refused to give me the email address. Went into Power Townsend and spoke with the joke of the manager (TJ) he tried to give us another element (even through we told him that's not the problem) when earlier in the day he told us they would replace the water heater. After this almost burning down my bathroom and having to travel over 120 miles to be able to take a shower MY NEXT PHONE CALL IS TO MY LAWYER. After being a long customer spending thousands and always paying our bill on time on the account we have there you would think we would be treated better. I have to honestly say we will be shutting down our account and doing business else where (which is too bad since I prefer to spend with local/small business vs. Big box stores) WELL DONE TJ. YOU LOST A LONG TIME LOYAL CUSTOMER.

Only the very best service and consideration of all the hardware stores in Helena. Very impressed how they handled me as a female with instructions from my husband. You females can understand what I mean!

Everything is priced way over retail. When asked why this was the case, I was essentially told this is a good thing, by the staff. Good for who? Other than that, the employees are non-existent or rude.

PTCO is a nice place to do business. I've always been pleased with service and product. I like the way the store is set up. I can find what I am looking for. I enjoy supporting local businesses.

PT is a pretty good store. Most of the folks are helpful and they have a lot of things others don't have. Some of the prices are higher. I try local first but shop around if you need to.

This place is a million times better than Home Depot or Lowe s. At Power Townsend there are helpful and knowledgeable employees on the floor (at all times) ready to help you find what you are looking for.

Power Townsend is a Helena landmark. Family owned, they have what you need and the prices are generally better. The wood is always better quality
