I bought a 2010 Chevy 1500 from them and it's a good truck but they left out a few things that they really should have told me.So far it's been a reliable truck but not even 60 days after I took out the auto loan and drove it off their lots the tires rotted out completely, I don't hold this one completely against them because tires will sometimes do that but they give warning signs before they do and it looked like they tried to hide it with tire shine. What I am mad about and why they are only getting a 3-star review is they didn't bother to tell me about the transmission leak, I'm glad that I am obsessive about checking my fluids because the leak rate was emptying the transmission of fluid in a week. I am still working on getting the money together to get that fixed and I'm for now just putting more in weekly but they should have told me about it before I even had the chance to read the paper work.

I bought a car from J&D auto about two months ago. I honestly should have known better than to buy from them. Due to the fact I test drove 5 cars. One of which the battery was dead. The sales guy offered to just jump it like it was no big deal. That it just happens sometimes. I have had the vehicle for two months. Made one car payment on it, finding out that it now needs a new engine. I called to ask what kind of inspection they do before selling a vehicle. Pretty much got brushed off. Sales guy told me unfortunately that s the gamble you take with buying used cars . To find out with some more pushing that, they either did not do a full inspection or they ran codes and knowingly sold a car that the timing chain was going out on. I had the cars codes ran. It has been throwing the same codes for 4 months prior to me buying the car. So now I am 10,000+ in the hole with a vehicle I CAN NOT DRIVE. This dealership is absolutely worthless when it comes to ensuring that they are selling vehicles to customers that are in good shape. The fact the salesman got so defensive on the phone tells me that they were well aware of the situation. I don t know about any of you, but I don t purposefully go into buying a car that I have to end up Dropping a brand new engine into.

My experience with JD Auto Sales was extremely disappointing. I traveled seven hours to purchase a vehicle, but upon arrival, I discovered that I had been grossly misled and lied to about the condition of the car.Despite the deception, I attempted to negotiate a fairer price to account for the actual condition of the vehicle, but the owner's response was shockingly rude. She told us to either accept the deal as is or leave. This ordeal was not only a waste of my time but also my family's time. I would strongly advise against dealing with JD Auto Sales due to their dishonesty and disrespectful behavior.

If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would! These crooks sold me a 2011 GMC with 100k miles and a blown motor!! I dropped $6k into it and it's going to take $7k more to get it running!!! Do NOT TRUST THEM, DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!! Worst car dealer in Helena!!

Sold me a 15k dollar car that was only worth 1500.00. I'm a single mom of 2 young kids whom were with me when they sold it to me. Randomly driving one day the drive line snaps and I call the lady to tell her how I knew about it being worth 14k less than she sold it to me for and now it's going to cost more than the car is worth to even fix it. The mechanic said that the car had been "ghetto rigged" and they knew this was going to happen. When i called and told her, the response was "well that's what happens when you buy used cars." Completely only in it for the money this place is a joke and has no integrity.

Had a wonderful hassle free, pressure free experience here with trading my car in on a different one. Tyler was awesome. Be sure to ask for him!

Was fairly close to buying a vehicle from Tyler, but external circumstances made it difficult for me. It's tough buying from 2,500+ miles away in Maine over the internet, but he was transparent and openly communicative throughout my inquiry. Friendly service that I wish I was closer to and happier with than most larger dealers. Didn't end up buying the vehicle, but pleased with the service.

I had such a wonderful experience at j&d, David is an AMAZING salesman and all around great person. He helped me get the vehicle I wanted and set up for a no credit check payment plan. I couldn't be more happy with the time I spent there, and so pleased to leave with a new to me vehicle and a big smile on my face. I will recommend this company to anyone in need of a vehicle.

We bought an Acadia Denali that was a total rip off! Power steering was Jimmy rigged and on and on. We paid 14,000 cash and have sunk another 5,000 into it getting it to where it should of been when we bought it. Total B.S.! I don't know how these people sleep at night.

Thanks for selling us a total lemon. Bought for $14000 in July. Within a month the engine was done. Then the transmission. Have put another $10000 to keep it running. And both of the problems were existing and just a matter of time to deadline the vehicle. We have purchased vehicles from you before where you are upfront with anything that might be an issue or might need to be repaired. So thanks, we will never buy from you again. And will tell anyone and everyone to go elsewhere.

These guys gave me the best experience in buying an RV. Easy process buying, they went 100% out of their way to help us. I can't tell you how grateful I am that they were there for us when we needed them the most. Couldn't repay you for your hard work helping us get set up and they even gave us a thank you gift bag. Wonderful hardworking people, from the salesman David to the owner and his son. Thank you

First review of a company in my life, but this was such a horrible experience that I had to write one. We had an agreed purchase price on a vehicle with a signed bill of sale from one of their salesmen (see photo). I worked with the bank to get a loan, sold assets to come up with a down payment, and paid for an inspection. They sold this vehicle to someone else within three hours of the inspection. We had an agreement on Monday, and they sold it on Thursday. I kept them up to date with every bit of the progress I made to uphold my end of our agreement, yet they still dishonored the agreement. The inspection revealed an $800 repair for an oil leak. There's no doubt that they passed that problem on to whoever purchased it, as the inspection was just done this afternoon.

gave them 20,000 and they refuse to finalize paperwork so I can register my property. They got an early payoff and now I'm not as important as I was when they were trying to make a sale. Tammy is difficult to deal with and won't listen to the needs of the client.

Nice guys, not pushy at all. Josh was very helpful and patient when we were deciding on financing. Allowed us to take the car to a 3rd party dealer. Due to the things that were found, we didn't end up purchasing. As with any used car, I strongly recommend getting the car checked out before you purchase.

Bought my first car from here, lacked the experience to know to get an extended warranty. Car threw a rod a month later. I am now out 3000 dollars. There is no way they actually had a machanic look over it like they said they did. These guys are nothing short of scammers, do not buy from them you will regret it.

I recently bought a pick up from J&D and it was a positive experience. The owner showed me several trucks and had a conversational sales approach. They offered financing but I didnt need it so I cant say either way about that. I will consider them again in the future when it is time to replace this vehicle.

Out to dinner with Mrs. Fly and over heard the couple at the next table talking about this place. After listening in for some time I had to interject due to the fact that I was sure it was all a lie. This couple tells me that they bout a car a few months ago from this place ,(paid cash)less than 3 months ago. They decided that they would take the car back and use it as a trade in down payment on 2 used vehicles. It so happens that both individuals found vehicles that they both liked within minutes and made contact with a salesperson and the ball rolled quite easily. This couple applied for financing however, they were turned down only because of the fact they have not lived in Helena but only about 6 months. This couple made plenty of money, their income is higher than most people I know. The salesperson explained to them that they could still get the vehicles with the "In house financing" option. Now here is where it gets a little strange, their trade in was purchased less than 3 months ago at $2500. The salesperson had offered them $2000 as trade in, but since they had to do the "In house financing" the salespersons boss drops the value of the trade in to $500 and also required them to put up $700 cash at 17% interest in order to get both vehicles. The gentleman looked at me dead in the face and promised he was not making this up. Here is the kicker, the original salesperson advised them that he was not making much off the deal and if they missed a payment or 2 that he would lose any and all commission. The wife of the couple then informs my wife and I that, while in a separate marriage, in the last 10 years she had bought 5 other vehicles through this place, , never once made a late on a payment and paid off all the loans early. This is the craziest story I have ever heard. My wife and I felt so bad that we paid for their dinner.

They have some great prices compared to their compitition. They are very busy because of it. But dedinitly a check them out if you are in the market for something cheap and reliable. I will be going there in a couple months for an camper.

For a lower income car lot I m surprised the amount of stinginess I saw. I was only there for 5 minutes before I realized it was run by apparently stingy salesmen. I asked about the car I was looking at which was priced at $15,000, had $3,000 as a down payment and before I even got the chance to glance at it up close for the first time, they told me out of the blue they needed $8,000 down for that it, without checking either my credit or my income. After that they pointed me to a run down little honda(don t get me wrong, I love Honda s) and told me that s all they could do and then told me good day.Verdict: just go to Lithia Chevrolet. They are very friendly and inviting, ready to let you look at anything you re interested in. They also have a way better selection. They do their best to make sure it s suits your needs and your budget. After dealing with J&D I walked into Lithia, and walked out with the keys of a newer, better, and more equipped car than J&D had. Will not be shopping at J&D again and would not recommend. If you re wanting cheap-mid priced, go to deals on wheels. Very friendly people.

My partner and I got a 2013 Chevy Silverado that within two days of purchasing suffered from electrical and mechanical problems. J&D knew about the fault with the gas tank and the extent of the electrical problems and didn't make us aware of these problems till after we drove it off the lot. J&D suffers from a total lack of customer service and pushes junk products at overpriced value. All they care about is making a quick buck and have no compassion for those who do business with them.

My father bought a Nissan Murano from this dealership in August. Then ended up putting $3000 into head lamps because of a broken part inside both projectors. He discovered this the first time he drove it in the dark and couldn't see. Both the body control module and the ignition module ended up having to be replaced within the first thousand miles so there's another $2,500. At about 1500 miles from purchase the alternator went out and car quit moving (towing bill). Upon taking it to the dealership to have that repaired anther $800. I was told that the transfer case was severely leaking. The bill to fix it would be $4,200 minimum. We have driven this car just about 3000 miles total and have at least $12,000 into it. I'm pretty sure it isn't worth the money to fix the transfer case. So now we have a $12,000 paper weight and no money to buy another car or a car to drive at this point. I do believe my father was told the dealers mechanic looked it over and it was good. In my opinion had a scan tool have ever been plugged in to it, the scan tool would have seid no body control module (computer that runs most in cab features. So I really doubt his mechanic ever looked at it other then to wash the leaking transfer case fluid off the bottom of the car so the customer was none the wiser. So I guess in my opinion is steer clear this dealership go to the new car dealership and buy your used car.

Worst place to buy a vehicle. We bought a truck and drove less than 500 miles before we had to put a new motor in it! When we confronted them about it all we were told was "its a gamble when you buy a used car". If you want to gamble your here...good luck

I recently bought a 2014 Kia Forte LX. It was not fancy but I am extremely happy with this car. Less than a month of owning this car my husband was in a serious wreck with his vehicle. When I called J and D they said they were willing to sell us a second vehicle even though I have not made one payment yet. When I showed up at the lot after speaking to Ike on the phone he pointed out several cars had salvaged titles. When I asked to see the Kia he was more than willing to show it to me. The Kia was not the most expensive car yet he was happy to sell it to me. Ike was very honest about everything and when it came time for me to drive it home he was happy to know I bought the car I wanted and I was very happy with it. The day before we drove up to J and D wetalked to Ike on the phone and he I could pick out anything with my trade. Not once was he rude or mad that he would not receive his commission he would have if I bought another car. I highly recommend this dealership to anyon .

Had the vehicle less than 2 months. No title work or registration put in my name. Voluntary returned it because of financial problems. Didn't receive all the paperwork from them and they would not give any down payment money back to me. Morally wrong!
